MAJOR Vikings Trade Rumors via Adam Schefter & ESPN
Adam Shfter gave some big time updates about the NFL trade deadline as it’s just a couple of weeks away. So, we’ll talk about how that impacts the Minnesota Vikings. But with NFL trade deadline only a couple weeks away, you guys got to hit that subscribe button. It’s going to be a crazy time here over the next couple of weeks. Will the Vikings make a big time move? We’ll discuss that all on today’s show. But also, we are taking on Eagles now in our week seven subscriber battle. Right now, we’re at 73 subs. Eagles now is at 91 subscribers. If you want to beat the Eagles, not only on the field, but also off the field here within the walls at Chat Sports, go down there, hit that subscribe button today and help us beat Eagles now in the week seven sub battle. [Music] What’s going on everybody? Welcome in the Vikings now by chat sports. My name is Patrick Seatman. So, the latest reports coming out around the NFL trade deadline coming in from Adam Shfter. He says sources expect an active NFL trade market ahead of the deadline. Now, Chev put an article out on ESPN. He listed some of the top trade candidates heading into the trade deadline. So, we’ll talk about how that impacts the Vikings. But first, we got to talk about some positions of need for the Vikings because, you know, even though I don’t expect them to be too active in the NFL trade market, you know, knowing Quazito Fmensa, he very well could be. Like nobody saw that TJ Hawinson trade a couple of years ago, but some of the top positions of need for the Vikes, cornerback, center, and linebacker. Now, I think the quarterback position, we’re more talking about that cornerback three spot. You know, Jeff Akuda has struggled somewhat this season. So, finding that third corner could be something the Vikings are interested in. And then the center position, like what’s going on with Ryan Kelly? Do they trust Blake Brandell at that center spot? We’ll talk about that. And then with Ivan Pace struggling a whole lot this season. He actually has the most missed tackles in the entire NFL at the linebacker position this season. We’ll talk about if they could trade for a couple of backers um coming up later, but I did want to get this take out there. I doubt the Vikings get aggressive at the NFL trade deadline unless they win their next two games. Like if the Vikings beat the Philadelphia Eagles at home, move to 4-2, and then somehow they travel on a short week and go out there and beat the Los Angeles Chargers, then you’re sitting there at 5-2. And with how wide open the NFC is, then maybe I could see the Vikings getting pretty aggressive. You still have 11 draft picks in 2026, still have a good amount of cap space. So, there is possibilities for the Vikings making a big time move, but it comes down to them winning these next two weeks. So, we’re going to start off here with the quarterback position. And the guy’s name that is being floated out there across NFL circles is Reek Woolen, the Seattle Seahawks corner. Now, this guy 6’4, super super athletic. He was a fourth round pick. really hit the ground running hard during his first two years in the NFL, but he’s definitely taken a step back and this season not grading out too well according to PFF. His overall grade 42 and a half, that is 158th out of 170 eligible corners. Coverage grade obviously struggling there as well. 41.1 run defense, he is a willing tackler, you know, due to his size. He has an aggressive nature as a part of his game. So, he will defend the run at a high level, which obviously we know with Brian Flores, he demands his corners to tackle at that high level. And even though he’s been kind of filtered in and out of the lineup for the Seattle Seahawks defense, he still has over 300 snaps on the season. But you may be saying, “Well, Patrick, with Byron Murphy playing well, with Isaiah Rogers having a great year, why do the Vikings need a quarterback?” Well, their third corner this year, Jeff Okuda, Elfe, um, this hasn’t been living up to that preseason and training camp hype we had around this guy. I mean, we talked about how Reek’s BFF grades aren’t that good. Well, actually, Jeff Vakuda’s grades are worse. 40 and a half overall grade, run defense solid, but not too great compared to Reek. and then his coverage grade 55.9. So, he has definitely struggled this year. Again, very limited sample size. Vikings are, you know, pretty much the only team in the league that only runs two quarterbacks, but they still want to have that third corner if they do want to get into more nickel packages and move a safety off the field and they just want to be, you know, able to cover at a decently high level with those three guys. But, you know, Reek Woolen, he has a lot of natural ability. Like, there’s no doubt about it. Like 6’4, super fluid. Obviously hasn’t been playing good football this season. And in terms of him, I’ll be interested in seeing him with Brian Flores because we’ve seen Flores take a guy like Isaiah Rogers this year, just a middle of the pack corner and now he’s potentially having an allp pro season. I could see Flores getting a whole lot about a whole lot out of this guy. Still a very young player, still developing. So I could see maybe the Vikings having some interest there. But I think the guy that I would personally be interested in is actually Roger McCreary, the Tennessee Titans quarterback. Now the Titans, they just fired Brian Callahan. season’s not going well and it very well could be a fire sale in Tennessee. They’re going to have a new head coach. They’re going to want to have, you know, control over their own guys and McCreer would obviously not be the future new head coach’s guy. So, I could see them being willing to shop him. They also already traded a corner Jarvis Brownley Jr. to the New York Jets. We’ve heard um Simmons. He could eventually get dealt at the deadline. And McCree is actually having a pretty solid year for Tennessee. He’s actually the 31st best graded corner according to PFF coming in at a 70.8 8 overall grade. Run defense, not as good as Reek Wen, but still not as uh not too bad at all. And then coverage. This guy can cover 73.6 overall grade and he’s played in over 234 snaps this past or this current season. And you know what would Roger McCur go for? I think just a six round pick. Now, this guy, he is uh in a contract year. So, you know, obviously you’re not going to be willing to give up like a, you know, third, fourth, or fifth round pick for a guy who only has one year left on his contract. you’ll be only, you know, bringing them in for, you know, 10ish games for the rest of the season. So, I would have some interest in this, especially if the Vikings win their next two games. If you just want to kind of get better on the margins, I think this would be a trade that the Vikings could consider. But, how about you guys? Would you accept this trade? Give me an A for accept. Give me a D for decline. Let me know your thoughts down below in the comments section. I would do this. You know, Vikings got 11 picks next year. Um, you got two six round picks for Harrison Phillips. So, if you want to get better on the margins, I think this trade, you know, would definitely intrigue me a little bit. So, you guys let me know your thoughts. Would you accept this deal? Give me an A for accept or a D for decline. Now, we’ll talk about a center trade target for the Vikings here in a second. Then also three offball linebackers they could potentially trade for. But before we do so, got to give a massive shout out to today’s presenting sponsor, and that is Prize Picks. So download the Prize Pix app today. Plug in promo code CLS. Get $50 in lineups after you play your first $5 lineup. That is code CLNS to get $50 in lineups after you play your first $5 lineup. But shout out to Prize Fix for sponsoring today’s show, Prize Fix. It’s good to be right. All right, let’s talk about a center trade target for the Vikings. That being Ethan Posick of the Cleveland Browns. He’s their starting center. Um he has been one of the more consistent centers in the National Football League over the last couple of years. And with the Vikings, obviously the injury bug killing the center position with Ryan Kelly on short-term IR, Michael Jurgens still battling back from injury. Maybe they could go in that direction. Now, I will have some hesitation on that because Vikings offensive coordinator Wes Phillips was giving Blake Brandell a whole lot of love about his performance at the center spot this past weekend, actually against the Cleveland Browns. This is what Wes Phillips had to say saying the way Blake handled this game. I think we might be looking at a situation where this could be his best position of all five across the line. So, if you guys don’t know, Blake Brendelli came out of college as a swing tackle out of Oregon State, six round pick, and then the Vikings ended up bumping him inside to play some offensive guard and then obviously they needed him to step up and play center this past weekend. And I thought he played pretty well. Now, he didn’t grade out too well according to PFF. Gave him a 40.4 overall grade. I think they’re kind of being a little ludicrous with that. I thought he played much better than what PFF graded him out as. So maybe the Vikings, even if Ryan Kelly does have to miss, you know, a whole lot of time. Maybe they’re just cool with running Blake Brandell out there. But, you know, you would have an opportunity to trade for a veteran center. Now, Pix is just solid. Like 62.7 overall, grade, 23rd in the league, pass block 66.4, run block 58.9, and he’s played uh 352 snaps this season. So, the only way I would have some interest in trading for him is if Ryan Kelly and the whole concussion s uh situation is incredibly serious where we’re talking about Kelly not only missing the remainder of the season, but him potentially retiring because he’s had two concussions already this season, three over the last three uh years. So, it’s obviously, you know, not an ideal situation for Ryan Kelly. So, if he has to be ruled out longer than him being on short-term IR and the Vikings just want to get that veteran center, which would have some value considering you still have JJ McCarthy, he’s barely played in the NFL. You want to have that veteran with them. At least that was idea they had in acquiring a guy like Ryan Kelly. But then again, if they like Blake Brandell, I could see the Vikings just saying, “Hey, we’ll roll out with him for the remainder of the season.” But that’s a center trade target. Now, let’s talk about three linebacker trade targets here. And number one being Deario Davis. Now, Deario Davis, 36 years old, obviously, you know, getting up there in age, but he is still playing some high high level football. And, you know, I do think this Demario Davis, he is still a fantastic linebacker. And I think he would take the Vikings defense to another level. I already think they’re top five in the league. You know, they’re pretty much top five in every statistical category. Now, they do struggle against a run. Well, number 56 of New Orleans. You would fix that issue right away. And also considering Ivan Pace Jr., like we were saying earlier, he’s been one of the worst linebackers in the league. Now, I also want to give the benefit of the doubt dive in pace. I think Blake Cashman not being in there, you know, definitely causes Pace to have a bigger role and obviously know Pace is at his best when he has a condensed role and he just has one job on any given play. Like that’s where we have really seen him be one of the better run defensive linebackers in the league. But if you don’t trust him and maybe you don’t love Eric Wilson as that second linebacker, hey, Deario Davis, you’ll probably have to give up a fourth round pick for him. But I would have some interest there, especially if the Vikings win the next two games. So, out of all the guys we talk about today, I think Demario Davis would be number one on my list in terms of guys the Vikings could potentially trade for. But another guy who’s a freak athlete, um, and he’s playing some good football, Ardan Key of the Tennessee Titans. Now, this guy just typical offball linebacker. I would be shocked if Tennessee does decide to trade him, but again, it could just be a fire sale over there. And again, kind of the same thing we’re talking about with like Ivan Pace and the Eric Wilson situation where Ardan Key would be more of just a, you know, get another body in the room type of pickup where, you know, you trade for Demario Davis. You know, he’s getting in there and he’s playing right away and he is playing all of the snaps defensively. Ardan Key would be a guy you bring in and he’s just part of that rotation with um Eric Wilson, Ivan Pace, and obviously himself, but also another Tennessee Titan, Draymond Jones. Um, you know, another solid player. um doesn’t really, you know, get to the quarterback too well, but as an offball linebacker, he’s definitely got some interest there. Um and again, the Tennessee Titans, like Jeffrey Simmons could be on the move, like a bunch of these guys could be on the move. So, I think they’re going to be probably the number one team at the deadline who is true sellers considering they fired their head coach. So, they’re going to try to get some new blood in the organization. So, watch out for those two guys. But, if I had to pick a player to trade for, I got to go with the Mario Davis. I think that would actually be a perfect fit for him. you need a veteran linebacker next to Blake Cashman, an elite communicator, great against the run. He also brings a lot of physicality, which the Vikings defense already has, but Demario Davis, again, like I was saying, he would take that to another level. So, that would be my number one guy. But you guys, let me know your thoughts down below. Name a player the Vikings need to trade for. Drop that name down below in the comments section. And we’ll see you guys next time. Appreciate all of you guys for tuning in. As always, go bikes. [Music]

ik we just traded with the 9ers but i would love to trade during the draft for Brian Robinson as our rb2/rb1 next season

Before considering any trade, Dwight "Nuddie" McGothern needs to be evaluated by playing 80+90% of the snaps on D up until the deadline.
I would rather see us trade players for picks. We're not winning the division, likely about to lose the next 4 games, the line is trash, and injuries are helping. If you're holding out for this season to be a success you're delusional, if you think Mccarthy played 7 out of 8 of the worst quarters cause hes young, you're delusional. He's not the answer.
Clickbait
Don't trade. This is not a superbowl team. Our qb situation way too sketchy

I told yall no matter what happens no matter what we go threw this year I know we have an amazing team and coaches and if we work like a team and believe we can go far so trust the process and skol Vikings for life baby die hard fan here skol 💜😈
Mekhi Blackmon got his first interception with the Colts against the Cardinals this week. Maybe we should have kept him, he’s been solid. Also, we should not trade, we can’t be spending draft picks. Kwesi needs as much draft picks as possible so he has the opportunity to make at least one good pick.
Any move we make I trust and love if we don’t make one I still trust and love this team forever die hard Vikings fan till I die skol Vikings forever 😈💜💜😈

I’m OK with trades, but the players gotta be at the most age 25. We need to get younger.
Yo I don't think the Vikings are big time involved in any trade market. I believe they have already done a lot before the season started and I believe they can't bring in any one man who's gonna save their season. It is what it is at this point. I also believe they blew the decision at quarterback. I wanted the Vikings to go with McCarthy but I think the decision to barely play him preseason hurt big. I think he should've played every preseason game and more. That was terrible. A bunch of new players with no chemistry together. Maybe that's why they are injured all over for their little work and even less work together. Smh
2026 first round pick will be a WR, Addison will be traded, JJ will get the bag.
Stop this clickbait bs
Vikings better be sellers at the deadline and not buyers
Blowing picks on a guy that will hardly play and walk after a season seems to be a KAM move. Can’t blame him he’s going to end up cutting whoever he picks anyway
Why not trade for a center? We only blew a ton of cap space on a C. And have a guy on the roster that’s better. But hey seems like a KAM move. Why not trade for dobbs with Mullen on the roster?
Honestly we need to fire KAM before he blows these picks on a rental or drafts a player that we cut in two years. The coaches have made him look competent, he is not
A
A
vikings should consider trading for a center and a defensive player
I fully believe if we didnt trade Mehki away we wouldn't have that question at cb3
center joe tippmann could teade for on defense trey hendrickson or Jeffery simmons or another linebacker or run defender
I don't give Ivan Pace the benefit of the doubt. Cashman on the field has nothing to do with flat out missing tackles.
Picks are worthless if they never hit.
Yeah those are the 3
I don’t think that Sam Darnold, Daniel Jones, or Aaron Rodgers who will all be in the playoffs, are on the trading block. So, I don’t think there is any potential trade that will return the Vikings to a Super Bowl contender which is where they should be right now after winning 14 games last season! This is especially disgusting given that the Vikings haven’t won a single championship in their entire 64 year existence, and the 1st choice for all 3 of these QB’s was to get a commitment from the Vikings! The bottom line is that if the Vikings season ends up as an abject failure by not making the playoffs, and with the team in cap purgatory moving forward, I would fire Kwesi & give KOC one more year to prove he can correct the deficiencies in his scheme and get something out of JJ. Kwesi wouldn’t be a loss as he has one of the worst drafting records in the NFL! Heck, maybe someone will still give us two 1st round picks for KOC but I doubt it, because despite delusional fans thinking he is some kind of Devine coach delivered from god, he really hasn’t won anything!
soks
