Defense Shows Strong Late-Game Performance vs. Seahawks | Jacksonville Jaguars
[Music] Welcome into the film room presented by Microsoft Co-Pilot Plus PC. The Jaguars fell to the Seattle Seahawks, but their record is 4-2 and that’s good. And there were some good plays on the field for the Jaguars during the game. So, let’s not waste any time. Let’s jump into the film. We’ll start with the youngster Rayon Lane. He’s a Navy guy and we’re a Navy town. Go Navy. He has been outstanding on special teams. He’s having an impact not only as a gunner here as it shows on punt, but also as a blocker. His special teams value is through the roof right now. He might be one of the better special teamers in the league. And quarterback Montterk Brown gets a great opportunity in this ball game with the trade of Tyson Campbell and he didn’t disappoint in the second half. The Seahawks trying to get him deep here with a little double move, but Montterk Brown tracks it perfectly and gets a pass defense. But this was just the first one on a drive. And the second one, Seattle is targeting their talented wide receiver Jackson Smith in Jigba. He’s an exceptional player as you saw during the game. And here on a deep in route, Montterk Brown tracks it perfectly, getting another pass defense. And we got to give the defense some credit. in the second half after the Jaguars closed the gap to a onepossession game. The defense gave the ball back to the offense three times. And on this one, you have a fiveman pressure with the defense and foyer, the man in the middle, takes a short step and then loops around and gets pressure on Sam Darnold. Really a great play, great job of getting pressure. And there’s another reason that I like that play. Jackson Smith in Jigba is an exceptional player as we saw in the ball game and we saw Travis Hunter do a little traveling to cover him and I thought he did a really good job. But most importantly, the positives in this game, they cannot be ignored. The Jaguars defense did a great job three times late in that ball game giving the Jaguars an opportunity at tying that ball game up.
Jeff Lageman rolls the tape on Week 6 and breaks down the defensive effort in the second half. He shows key stops by the secondary and defensive line that allowed the Jaguars’ offense to get the ball back with a chance to take control of the game. The Jags need go Archives mode with OG of how deal with Jaguars getting Travis Hunter more explosive plays. By looking at ST Louisi Cardinals plays with the OG Duel Threat on off & defense Roy Green Jr
Rayuan Lane III is a Marine. Marines don't have a service academy. And since they're a component of the Department of the Navy some take the path of going through the Naval Academy. But he's a Marine.
We have to get pressure, we had zero pass rush and Josh Allen having 1 sack all year isn’t cutting it. I don’t know if the 2 rookies are the in house answer but I’d like to try because Allen an injured walker are not getting enough pressure. Number 90 as the main backup rusher isn’t good enough, either give green and striggow his reps or look for a trade..
Jags stop with the excuses. The team stunk on Sunday. I turned the game off and went for a long walk.
Defense had 3 three and outs in the fourth quarter and offense couldn't do nothing 😞
I wish we would have done something different with the offense once the sacks started building up. Start rolling out Trevor or shorter passes.
Happy with the current record and big win over KC but hopefully the team bounces back and learns from this loss.
