MAJOR Saints Trade Rumors Per Adam Schefter & ESPN
ESPN’s lead NFL insider, Adam Shfter, has added some trade buzz to the NFL rumor mills. And we’re going to break it down here on Saints Now by Chat Sports. There’s a handful of players out there who a lot of coaches and executives believe will be available here in the next few weeks as we get to the NFL trade deadline and Sheffy named a handful of Saints players. So, we’re going to have a conversation about it. Want to quickly show you guys our week seven sub battle. We’re taking on Dennis Allen and the Bears Now channel. So, let’s show Dennis Allen who’s boss. Who that nation? Stand up, get loud, and hit the sub button so we can take down Bears now in our sub battle this week. [Music] So, Adam Shfter made a list of players that were believed to be available with the NFL trade deadline here just less than a month away on November 4th. My name is Trizy Trace Gerard. Thank you so much for tuning in to Saints Now by Chat Sports. I want to just go through the list of NFL trade candidates that Adam Shter listed five players and I’m going to give you my take on what I would do with each individual. Let’s start off with the first player. Running back Adam Shfter lift listed Alvin Chimera. The running back Alvin Chimera was listed by Adam Shfter. Had a little bit of a brain fart right there. Anyway, Alvin Chimera was listed by Sheffy as a potential trade candidate for the New Orleans Saints. And for what it’s worth, I don’t think that the black and gold will move off of him. I do understand why he is a popular name amongst trade rumors. I can understand why there’s other teams out there that want Alvin Chimera. And I get the narrative that the Saints may want to trade him and he may want to trade a ring or chase a ring and all that, but I’m here to tell you that doesn’t really matter because Alvin Chimera himself said he doesn’t want to go anywhere. Even at this point in his career, he’s playing productive football and he’s a player that I still believe can provide something to this team, whether it’s onfield production, whether it’s leadership, whether it’s helping build the culture under Kellen Moore’s, you know, rule. I do believe that Alvin Chimera is a player who will be around. Uh Mickey Lumis just straight up approached him and was like, “Hey, do you want to get traded? Teams are calling. What do you want to do?” And AK-41 said, “I’m staying here. I want to be a saint for life and I want to rep the black and gold to the day he dies. So, let’s show him some love. Type AK41 in the comments section because that guy’s a Saints legend and I just want to say thank you to him for everything he’s done as a Saints football player, everything he’s done within the community and everything he will do. He’s a legend, no doubt about it. So, show the guy a little bit of love in the comments. A couple of wide receivers were also listed here in Adam Shfter’s article. one being Chris Olive. And just like Alvin Chimera, I do understand why he is a popular name in trade rumors. Obviously, he was a player that the Saints traded up to go and get out of Ohio State. He started off his NFL career with back-to-back thousand yard seing that he could be a very, very reliable player. But after a flurry of concussions and after a little bit of a rocky start this year, he has been a player that’s gotten a little bit frustrating to some Saints players. And I will also add when it comes to Chris Olive, there has been some clear something going on. It’s clearly that he is not the player he once was. How many times did we see him have those ridiculous one-handed catches where he’s bobbling it to himself and coming down with unbelievable contested catches? We used to see it all the time. And now he’s dropping wide openen passes. Now he’s making uncharacteristic mistakes and it’s a really really upsetting situation. And I still believe in Chris Olive. I’m actually a believer that you can get more out of number 12 if you invest around him. Similar to how the Eagles invested around Dvonte Smith. They brought in AJ Brown and it only helped Smitty be a more reliable weapon for the Eagles offense. and Jaylen Herz. Kell Moore knows all about that and I think that he could recreate something similar to that in New Orleans. Whether it’s Devon, whether it’s Bub Means when he’s healthy, whether it’s a player you draft like a Jordan Tyson or Carnell Tate or uh Nick Harbor out of South Carolina, I do think that Olive is a player I personally would like to hold on to. But I also, you know, think it’s a conversation that’s at least worth exploring because Kellen Moore moving forward needs to figure out whether or not Chris Olive is a part of his long-term plan. And if he is, awesome. Keep him around. figure it out and hopefully you can agree upon a contract that is fair to what the production we’ve gotten on field is. Don’t forget he is a player who has been a proven thousandy receiver, but he’s also dealt with a lot of injuries. He’s starting to have some issues and I don’t know if it’s, you know, the Derek Carr hospital balls that traumatized him or what. The reality is if Chris Olive is not a part of Kell Moore’s long-term plan, the New Orleans Saints need to do the right thing and trade him away rather than just letting him walk in free agency. So that way you can maximize your return. And if you do decide to keep him around, you do have him under contract next year because you picked up his fifthear option. So you could potentially decide, I want to wait, I want to hold on to him and maybe revisit this in the off season. All in all, I do think when it comes to Chris Olive, he is a player that is definitely going to be getting a lot of interest. He’s probably a player that’s going to get you the most in return in terms of trade value, but I am going to go ahead and say I would prefer to keep Olive, but at the end of the day, I wouldn’t blame the Saints for trading him if they had to. Now, another wide receiver. This is one that absolutely is disgusting to talk about. I can’t believe I even have to have this conversation. My sweet prince Rasheed, the need for speed shahid. He was listed by Adam Shfter as a trade candidate. And we’re going to talk about it here in one moment. Now trading Rasheed Shahed would be in my opinion organizational malpractice. I think it would be a terrible idea. I think it would be stupid and quite frankly I would have a generational crash. I’ve said that a few times and I am trying to prepare myself every single day for the possibility that my favorite player, my favorite young player gets traded. Rasheed Shahiti is a guy that I’ve been very very high on since he was signed as a UDFA out of Weieber State. I’m really really high on this player for a plethora of reasons, but the biggest one is that he is a field stretcher. He is a weapon and he is somebody that if you trade away, I think it’s going to be very hard to replace him because he is such a valuable guy and he’s a fan favorite. Why would you want to get rid of Rasheed? The need for speed Shahed. I can tell you right now, I have absolutely no interest whatsoever in dealing number 22. I don’t want him to be traded at all. When it comes to teams that may be interested, I’ve seen the Giants, I’ve seen the Steelers, I’ve seen the Patriots. There’s a couple of teams that have been interested in some of the Saints wide receivers. Rasheed Shahed being one of those that could be moved. And if you do trade Rasheed Shahed or Chris Olive for that matter, you’re going to be pretty thin in the wide receiver department. Obviously, Mason Typton, Devon Veil are also on the roster, but you have a lot of guys who are dealing with injuries. And when it comes to the practice squad, I mean, it’s like Kevin Austin Jr., Dante Pettis. Is that really what you want to run with? I actually think trading away Rasheed Shahed or Chris Olive wouldn’t really help the Saints as much as it would hurt them because if you move off of one of these wide receivers, it would hurt the development of whichever quarterback is on the field. Spencer Rattler, Tyler Shuck, doesn’t matter. If you take away a key weapon and a focal point of this offense, the quarterback and the offensive unit as a whole will suffer. Now, if I had to pick one, if it was life or death and you had to make a decision, I would prefer to actually keep Rasheed Shahed and trade away Chris Olive because I think you can get more in return for Chris Olive. I think you can pay Rasheed Shahid a little bit less than number 12. And so for those reasons, I would like to keep Rasheed Shahid. And plus, I think that his big play ability and his big play potential has been a lot more prevalent throughout his tenure with the New Orleans Saints. Part of the part of the reason being that he’s been healthy and the other part being that he’s just such an electric football player. I always say Rashid Shahid is the most electric player in the entire National Football League when he’s got the pill in his hands. Now, if you had to trade one, I’m going to make you make a decision. Type 12, type 22. Which one are you trading away? I would have to type my twelves, but I want to hear from you, Hudat Nation. All right, let’s talk about another player, a Saints receiver that actually has been traded a lot throughout his NFL tenure, Brendan Cooks. He is no stranger to being dealt near the trade deadline or throughout the season. And you know, here we are having another conversation about trading him. Adam Sher thinks that Brandon Cooks could be a player that could be on the move. He hasn’t provided a ton to this Saints offense, but he has been a player who whenever he’s gotten opportunities and he’s gotten targets, he’s come through for the New Orleans Saints. He’s a veteran. He’s a quality player and I do think that he’s somebody that is valuable to have around because the wide receiver room is so young and inexperienced. But at the end of the day, if you had to make a decision on Rasheed, Shahed, Chris, Brandon Cooks, I’m gonna trade Brandon Cooks. Obviously, now I will say this. You shouldn’t expect much in return for a Brandon Cooks trade. If you were to deal this wide receiver, I would not expect to get anything really illustrious in terms of a trade package, but I will say I wouldn’t mind moving number 10. It would be kind of like I feel bad like it was fun to have him back. He decided to come to New Orleans as a free agent. It was his decision to sign here and he wanted to finish off his career where it all started in New Orleans. But, you know, at the end of the day, it’s also a business and you got to be thinking about the future, not about the right now. So, when it comes to trading Brandon Cooks, I wouldn’t mind making this move because it would open up more opportunities for Mason Tipton, who has started to get an uptick in usage. We’ve seen him get on the field more often as a kick returner next to Kendre Miller this past week, specifically against the Patriots. He’s also a player who is really, really exciting during the preseason. He’s been known to be a reliable uh player on the wide receiver depth chart. And so Mason Typton could have more opportunities if you do trade Brandon Cooks and it would allow you to get a better look at some of the younger players in the offense. Now, last guy that’s on this list is one that I am also really not interested in trading in, Cameron Jordan. That is a player that Adam Shfter uh listed that NFL executives and head coaches believe could be available at the end of or the November 4th NFL trade deadline. Look, Cam Jordan is a player who started off this season, in my opinion, pretty hot, and he’s somebody who I think is extremely valuable to have on the field because of the experience. I understand that he’s lost his step. I understand that he’s not the same player he used to be, but I think when you consider where the New Orleans Saints defense is and the weaknesses along that side of the football, trading away Cam Jordan would hurt you more than it would help you in my personal opinion. You know, he is your starter. Chase Young kind of started getting rotated in as he returned from his calf injury. Carl Granderson is another player who’s been, you know, kind of involved in trade rumors, but Nathan Shepard, Devon Gotcha, Brian Bazer, those are your interior guys. Chris Rump has been getting a lot of run. Jonathan Bullard has been getting a lot of run. You’ve seen Jonah Williams get on the field here and there. Christian Boyd is another player that could be available along the defensive line. So, with Cam Jordan specifically, we all know that he has been very, very clear that he doesn’t want to go anywhere. And we all remember the reports last year that were saying after the Panthers game, he was really unhappy with the situation. Todd Grantham, he’s a football terrorist and he Cam Jordan and him were not getting along. And so much so that he wanted to potentially get traded out of there. Obviously, that did not happen. And Cam Jordan has been extremely clear that he doesn’t want to go anywhere. He wants to be a Saint for life. He wants to retire in the black and gold. I seriously doubt that he gets moved, but I could see the Saints trading another defensive end in Carl Granderson. I would not be surprised if he was a player that the New Orleans Saints ended up dealing because I think when you consider Cam Jordan and Chase Young, you could use those two as a player or as your two starting defensive ended rushers. I think Carl Granderson is a better player than Cam Jordan at this point in their careers. But I also think when you’re talking about trading away Carl Grerson, he could maybe tick up a little bit of the uh trade value because he has been pretty productive thus far. He also has been a player that is younger and he is a player that I think could provide uh more longevity to whatever roster is interested in potentially trading for him. So Carl Granderson I could see being a guy that is dealt instead of Cam Jordan. But in my opinion, there are some players out there who deserve to decide their future. I’ve never shied away from this. This is something I still believe in. When it comes to these four Saints legends, I even thought about throwing Justin Reed and Foster Morrow in this conversation, but they haven’t been around as long, so I’m not really going to do that. But these guys have been Saints, not necessarily for life, but ne but for the most part, these guys have, and these guys are absolutely Saints legends. And you know, you can’t sit here and tell me you remember Demario Davis playing for the Jets. Didn’t happen. All in all, I think that these players deserve to choose whether or not they want to be a part of this team, continue to potentially lose a lot of games, but build the foundation for the future of the New Orleans Saints, or do you want to go chase a ring? And if you do, the New Orleans Saints deserve to do right by these players. If they want to go, then let them go. If they want to stay, let them stay. That’s just my take and that’s why you subscribe. Now, let me know in the comments section. Do you think the New Orleans Saints will make at least one trade? They’ve already made a handful up to this point. Um, Devon Bailey, Colin Saunders, remember Jaylen Pulk? They traded for Jaylen Pulk. That’s was wild. Um, I think that they are definitely going to be making a trade. One name that Adam Shfter didn’t list that I’m going to list. See Pete Wernern get that might happen. Who knows? We’ll have to see. Just type yes, type no. Get in the comment section. I appreciate you guys for rocking and rolling with us here on Saints Now by Chat Sports. AK41 forever!!!! 🙂 🙂 🙂
Ak 41 🎉

We are 1-5. At some point we have to start looking into future rosters. Draft picks are exactly what we need in order to rebuild the roster next year. As much as we love the veterans, we have to do what's best for the 2026 and beyond Saints. If Mickey survives after this season, which Ms Benson probably isn't firing him, he can NOT do the salary cap circus with voided years on extensions.
12 no doubt
AK dont wanna get traded because he'll actually have to try on another team 😂
Ain’t no way Cam Jordan is going anywhere
Only an idiot would want to keep Olave. He’s asking $30M per, and the film shows him blowing almost every play. Shaheed fills the same role.
AK41
If Lattimore got traded den Olave and AK not Off limits‼️
I mean we should make SOME kind of moves. We’re just not good enough with the current roster. Need to accumulate draft picks or trade old for young. I adore cam, Damario, kamara, but by the time we are truly competitive they will probably not be with us anyway, so what is the justification for keeping them during rebuilding?
Random General Manager:
We're expressing interest in trading for your player Rashid Shaheed.
Mickey Loomis:
Kick rocks……
