Orlando Magic still have a lot to work on #orlandomagic #paolobanchero #franzwagner

This is Philip Rosenright, the host of Locked On Magic, as the Orlando Magic improved to 2-0 in the preseason with a 128 to 98 victory. But forget the score scoring margin, forget the 30point lead, the Orlando Magic still have a lot of work to do to get ready for the regular season. While there are still plenty of positive signs and a 30-point win certainly suggests that there are, there’s a lot of things to clean up. The Magic are still turning the ball over. They’re trying to play faster as every team is at this time of year, but they’re still turning the ball over. They’re not allowing their defense to get set. They’re almost playing too fast. And that may be a dirty word in this preseason and this training camp, but the Magics still need to be about their defense. They still need to be about the things that they’re settling on. They need to reduce mistakes and turnovers. The good news is throughout this game when the Magic had Paulo Vancero, France Vagner, and Desmond being all playing together at the same time for the first time this preseason. The good news is when they were challenged, when they made these mistakes, when they compounded and allowed Philadelphia to hang in the game, they answered the bell, turning the ball over three times early in the third quarter. The Magic called timeout. They come back out. They go on a 70 run. Starters have done their job. Bench came in 110 run to build that lead up to 15 points. and the Magic were eventually able to run away against a tired Sixers team that just does not have the depth of players, much less talent, to compete with a team like the Magic. A positive game. The Magic still did a lot of really good things. Everyone’s still kind of working themselves back into game and playing shape. They’re experimenting with some things, but a lot to work on for the Magic if they’re going to achieve their goals and reach the the destination they want to reach.

The Orlando Magic answered the bell in the second half and have plenty of strong and positive moments. But there is still a lot of work to do to get where they want to be:
