MAJOR NFL Trade Rumors From Adam Schefter & ESPN – Chicago Bears Getting Involved?

ESPN’s Adam Shfter dropped some trade buzz and some trade candidates uh just in the last few days here with the NFL trade deadline three weeks away. I thought we’d kind of dive into some of these names and explore whether or not the Bears could or should pursue them as uh Ryan Poles could have some big decisions to make in terms of trying to improve this roster or not for 2025. Before we dive into that, we are on to week seven. We have a Saints channel. It’s called Saints Now, hosted by my guy Trace Trizy. Trace Gerard and I am on a war path to take down Saints now in new subscribers this week. Let’s keep the momentum rolling. Shout out to all the new subscribers. Shout out to the OG subscribers. If you haven’t subscribed, if you need a little motivation, let’s take down Saints. Now, this week, we’re going to continue to bring you guys free and daily content. Okay. Adam Sheper had this to say in this article where he dropped some trade candidates and intel. He said the three NFL trades, this was late last week when he wrote this, headlined by the Browns sending Joe Flacco to the Bengals are expected to be a sign of things to come ahead of the league’s November 4th trade deadline. Over the past six years in the month of October, leading up to the trade deadline, the NFL has had 88 trades, an average of just under 15 per year. It’s kind of become like baseball in the NBA where these GMs, these teams, these GMs, they are more aggressive in making moves. And I think part of it is the extra wild card spot. So these teams, even if they aren’t really in it, they kind of convince themselves they are. I mean, hell, we’ve seen Ryan Poles make a couple of trades when the Bears aren’t even really contending. So, uh, we know he’s certainly willing to pull the trigger on some moves. Um, now, the Bears did not have any players mentioned in terms of trade candidates, and maybe even that is a positive. That means they’re not looking to sell. Uh, SHF didn’t name anyone from on Chicago’s roster that could be available for other teams. That of course doesn’t mean that guys aren’t available. Things can change. Phone calls are happening constantly. So, uh that’s certainly uh subject to change over the next three weeks. Uh and one guy I wonder about is Braxton Jones. Uh is Braxton Jones a player that the Bears would try to trade and get a draft pick for? Would they try to play the comp pick formula? But what is that really going to net you this off seasonason considering he’s not a starter anymore? I don’t know if he’s getting some big payday by a team uh in the off season. Um obviously they’re rolling with Theo Benedict moving forward. I think the question you would have to answer uh in this regard because Braxton Jones, if nothing else, is a veteran left tackle who has started more than 40 games in this league. If you trade him, do you trust Aussie Trapillo in a pinch to step in and play left tackle? If Theo were to get injured or if he for whatever reason just had gigantic struggles and you had to bench him, can Aussie step in? Because they moved him back to right tackle. It’s kind of an admission of at least right now, uh, we don’t think he’s a left tackle. So, that’s kind of the game you got to play. A, you know, what are you getting for Braxton? You’re probably talking like a sixth round pick. Might even be a late round swap. Uh, and B, if you trade him, well, who who’s the backup left tackle? Do you trust Aussie to be the full swing guy, or can he only play right tackle? Is Karan Maji coming off IR? Could he play left tackle? I mean, if he’s healthy, we we know that’s his probably most natural position. Um, so those are all roster management questions you’d have to answer. But if the price was right and if they felt good enough about Azie at least stepping in over there, if he absolutely had to, then I’d be open to it. But otherwise, it’s probably too risky because there’s a reason they moved Aussie back to the right side. What say you? Should the Bears trade Braxton Jones? Type Y for yes, type in for no. I do think it’s pretty clear at this point they’re not going to resign him. Yeah, they’re going to let him walk in free agency. So, that’s where the appeal is uh to potentially trade him. But if you’re a contending team and you lose Theo Benedict, that’s that’s where Braxton Jones still has value. So, again, it kind of comes down to that Aussie question. All right, let’s get to some of the trade candidates. Shfter mentioned on some other teams. Obviously, running back’s a position we’ve talked about a lot. Uh Bree Hall, I think he’s certainly a guy to monitor. Jets are 0 and6. Just a disaster. Uh Alvin Kamara, now it’s been kind of talked about forever and reported on again recently that he wants to be a Saint like he prefers not to get traded. Would he be willing to change that stance? Would the Saints just trade him anyway? I’m not sure. uh but he could be a guy to monitor on the trade market. Jaylen Wright with the Dolphins, Devin Singleary, more like kind of rotation backs there. Now, how do the Bears view the running back position they currently have after DeAndre Swift had a breakout game, right? Like clearly had his best game of the season, maybe his best game ever as a Bear. They seem to certainly find some things in the run game against Washington. And again, the question is, is that a one-off? Is this a sign of things to come? or they got to be more consistent in the run game. I’ll say this, I’m giving this a few more weeks. You got three games until the trade deadline is here. I’m at least giving it two more games to see if they have found something sustainable for at least this season. If it goes back, kind of reverts back to the mean over the next few weeks, okay, we can revisit uh trying to trade for a running back. But if they’re at least league average running the football, I don’t know if you force the issue at the deadline uh to trade for a running back. If it gets back to being ugly, okay, maybe I’m revisiting Bree Hall, but uh they were so successful on the ground against Washington. You got to see this play out a little bit more. Kyle Manungai got into the mix. Even Roshan Johnson had a carry. So, uh let’s see how the next couple games go. I would not force the issue this week. You don’t really need to. Two weeks from now, if it’s ugly again, okay, we can revisit the running back trade market. Okay, today’s show is sponsored by Price Picks. We will uh can uh explore some more trade targets here in a second. But got to tell you about prize picks. You and I make decisions every day, but on prize picks, being right can get you paid. Don’t miss any of the excitement this season on prize picks where it’s good to be right. I’ve been right a lot this season. Not this past uh weekend, but uh we’re getting back on the saddle with some more prize picks. Lineup says, “I love playing daily fantasy with prize picks. The way it works is simple. You pick more or less on player stat projections on two to six player lineups and you’re good to go. If you hit, you win money. Sometimes up to 2,000 times your lineup. That’s right. With Price Pix, you can turn $10 into 20,000. Cool feature on the Prize Pix app is you can follow other Prize Pix players directly within the app and copy their lineups in one click. Whether it’s a friend, celebrity partner, or just someone whose picks you like, hit the follow button and check out every lineup they create in the new feed tab on prize picks. Little three player lineup I like this weekend is uh Trevor Lawrence more than half a touchdown pass. That’s a goblin play. a little easy to hit, but when you see quarterbacks more than half a touchdown pass, I like that in today’s NFL. I like using those in lineups, little recommendation I’d make. Uh Caleb Williams, I like more than 228 and a half passing against the Saints. He threw for 252 against Washington in a rainy, windy night when he didn’t even play uh close to his best. So, I like more than 228 and a half coming back home this week. Uh and then Cam Scatteraboo, demon play. Those are tougher to hit. Half a touchdown. They throw the ball to him sometimes. If they get inside the 10, they’re going to run him and try to score touchdowns that way. So, uh, I certainly like that. $20 lineup to win 80 bucks. Download the Prize Pix app today. Use our code CLNS to get $50 in lineups after you play your first $5 lineup. That is code CLNS to get $50 in lineups after you play your first $5 lineup. Prize picks. It is good to be right. Okay, let’s explore a bigger fish that Shaft mentioned. We’ve talked about him, I don’t know, 50 times on this show, it feels like over the last couple years. Uh Trey Hendrickson, uh Shepard did name him. I don’t think he would have done that just Lucy Goosey. I do think there’s probably some discussions behind the scenes happening. I don’t think Cincy’s going to do it like now. That would be right at the deadline. I think trading for Joe Flacco, who actually played decent against the Packers, they’re going to try to salvage this season, but they’re two and four. or if they’re like three and five at the deadline or three and six, you know, do do you pivot off Hendrickson who they did not extend? They just gave him more money this year. I think that’s certainly possible. Uh now, he did get dinged up in that Packers game, but Ian Rapaort said that he’s dayto-day with a back injury after a good result on the MRI. Could even play Thursday night. So, sounds like he’s going to be fine, which means um you know, as long as he doesn’t have a major injury, he’s someone to monitor at the trade deadline. Having another good year, 23 pressures, uh grading out really well. Well, his pressure rates been there. Four sacks uh in about in just five and a half games. He didn’t play the second half last week. So, uh maybe not on pace to have 17 and a half sacks again, but probably 12 or 13 uh if he continues to have a good season. Now, for the Bears, it’s important to note uh that if they were going to trade for Trey Hendrickson, they would have to move some money around. They have about $10 million. Now, if that trade happened right at the deadline, technically by then they could squeeze him in cuz his $16 million that you’d have to take on on your cap. It’s prrated over the 17 game schedule. So, it would it goes down by the week, but you’d have like a million or two left. You need more money than that to get through the end of the season. If you know you, if you have to sign another guy due to an injury, you have to pay your practice squad, you need to operate with four or five million bucks. So, you’d have to move some money, whether that’s cutting a player to stash a few million bucks, uh to whether it’s to restructure a contract, one of your bigger uh money players, which pushes money down the road obviously for their cap hits. So, uh those are all things you’d have to consider, or do you trade like Amantes elsewhere to shed his contract and then extend Hendrickson? You could try something like that. But, uh those are just different avenues you could consider. Other edge trade candidates that uh Sher mentioned here, the two Dolphins guys I think are going to garner a lot of interest. Jaylen Phillips, who’s been getting a lot of pressures this year, not a ton of sacks, but he’s been in the backfield a lot. Bradley Chub has four sacks this year, uh, as both those guys do have an injury history, but they’re playing well in 2025. Cam Jordan, Dennis Allen connection, uh, was mentioned in the article. I mean, just kind of as a older rental, you know, does he want to leave New Orleans? He’s been there forever. I I don’t know, but maybe he’d be willing to reunite with Dennis Allen, especially if the Bears are contending to be a playoff team, which clearly the Saints are not. Ardan Key in Tennessee is interesting for like, I don’t know, fourth, fifth round pick. Could you get him to just kind of hop into this rotation? Keon White not having a great year. Aford Jennings, good run stopper, does not really rush the passer. Those are kind of some lesser options there out of New England. Now, what is the Bears biggest positional need? If you’re looking at one position, what would you be looking to target if you were Ryan Poles? Let us know in the comments section. Uh, a couple defensive tackles mentioned as well for Sheffy. Shelby Harris. Draymond Jones is kind of an edge defensive tackle hybrid in this system. Probably play more edge. So, uh, that’s worthy of mentioning as well. I don’t know if Draymond’s a scheme fit. U, but he is in the he’s in there. Shelby Harris, nice player, but does he really elevate your defensive tackle room? you kind of have just like a pretty decent rotation. Even if none of the guys are great, they’re all at least decent. And Jamar Turner is a rookie, so like do you want to take snaps from him as a rotation guy? I don’t know if that makes sense. Uh and Grady Jarrett, he’s banged up. If this was a serious injury, like if we found out he was going to miss extended period, I’d be interested in Shelby Harris because uh you could bring him in, he could help fill that void uh with Grady Jarrett. They’ve had to elevate Jonathan Ford the last few weeks. So, uh, he’d certainly be an upgrade over that. So, keep an eye on that. But, if they haven’t put him on short-term IR yet, I think they probably think he’s going to be back pretty soon. Now, Sheff didn’t mention this guy, but Jeffrey Simmons has been mentioned uh, in trade rumors over the last few weeks and really over the last couple of years. Uh, you wonder with the coaching change there, would they consider trading him and kind of embrace uh, you know, more draft assets uh, going into the off season? And I do think this was an interesting comment made by Jeffrey Simmons after the Titans lost to the Raiders and the day before Brian Callahan got fired. He said uh in terms of the disappointment of the loss, he said it started at practice. Just being honest, this was probably one of our worst weeks of practice. Came out flat Thursday. Sometimes things carry over and this week you got to prove or in this league. Uh that was a typo by me. You got to prove it and bring it every week. We didn’t do that. Today was bad football. And uh I don’t think it was a coincidence they fired Callahan the next day when your best player comes up and said, “Yeah, it was a horrible week of practice.” Uh but he’s been awesome this year. He’s played at an allp pro level. He’s leading the NFL and pressures among uh interior defensive linemen. When he’s locked in, he’s a top three, top five defensive tackle in football. Now again, you’ve got some depth there, but there’s no doubt he would be the best defensive tackle. And him and Dexter next to each other is pretty interesting. Could that also elevate Montes Sweat who’s coming off a good game against Washington? But again, kind of like Trey Hendrickson, what are you doing financially? How are you moving money around? Because you can’t absorb his contract without freeing up some money. So, um you know, you’d have to again restructure a guy, uh trade a piece away, um something like that. So, that that is uh uh worth mentioning. You know, this isn’t Madden. you have to uh you have to uh fit you all 53 players and the practice squad technically within the salary cap and the Bears have about 10 million bucks. I think to bring on Simmons it’s like 20 million prorated down by the week I believe but still you don’t have enough to do that right now. So you would have to move Simone around which you can they could absolutely do it if they wanted to but the question is whether or not they’d want to restructure a player to move back his cap hits further down the road which there’s obviously some risk in that as well. Okay, pick a blockbuster trade target type. TH for Trey Hendrickson, JS for Jeffrey Simmons. Who would you rather have? I think Edge is probably a bigger need. Simmons probably a more impactful player though, especially moving forward a couple years younger. So, kind of an interesting call there. You guys let me know who you would rather have. All right, that’s going to do it for Chicago Bears. Now, don’t forget to subscribe to the channel. 1. Jeffery Simmons send them Kmet and 3rd or 2nd. Not sure the exact trade value.

Dexter is good but hasn't seem to take that next step. Sweat had better game Monday night, would be nice could improve from that, too many games just seems like he disappears. Dayo haven't noticed him very much so far making an impact 😐

  2. If you watched any of the come save me bowl, tn at lv Simmons and Crosby need out of those situations but they're probably too entrenched in their teams. But if I had to choose I'd choose Simmons for a 3rd n Jones

  3. I do not want Ryan Pole's hands-on this team. Anymore completely get rid of them fire. Em and let someone else take Uber the assistant behind him. Ryan Poles has done nothing but harm to this team since he got here.

  4. This season hinges on the next 3 weeks. Assuming you don’t lose a trap game with the lowly Saints, if you can beat a struggling and injured Ravens and a Bengals team without Joe Burrow then you’re on a 5 game win streak. Plus you’ve picked up 2 wins that most people thought would be losses to start the season. The confidence will be sky high and everyone will be talking playoffs.

  5. I wish the Bears would trade for a guard to replace Jonah Jackson, he wiffs on so many plays. He was a bad signing imo and the weakest spot on the O line. The Nate Davis of the new coaching staff.

  6. The ONLY reason Swift was successful this game is because the O-Line started to block better and moved the D-Line. It ain't rocket science guys. O-Line starting to gel and will get better as they play more together and build that chemistry. No trading, keep our draft picks and build through the draft like the rest of the championship organizations. We already gave up a 4th round pick for Thuney and a6th for Jonah Jackson. Let's not give up whatever draft capital we have and sign our future superstars in 2026 draft.
