Atlanta Falcons vs San Francisco 49ers | Week 7 Game Preview

San Francisco 49ers back home for week seven wondering who has the voodoo doll. Enough already coming in off a loss in more than one way. Taking on the Atlanta Falcons, winners of three of their last four. Scrambles and ball batted down and intercepted. It’s a game clinching pick. Falcons just climbed back over the 500 mark with a huge win over the Bills. They have this Cat Bejon. They have others, but it starts with Robinson, who hits the Bay off 170 rushing yard game, 81 on his Madden TD run. Finished with an 8.9 average, so 4.4 or better, five straight. Dejan Robinson, bright lights, a Monday football, runs for 170. A night he’ll never forget. But hold up. Wait, wait, wait, wait. It gets worse if you’re a 49ers defense without Fred Warner. He also pulled in 68 receiving yards on six catches. That was a followup to the hundredyard receiving game he had the week before. You get him out in space. Two, two, three, four, four, five. Five. I mean, it’s just unbelievable. Challenge continues with Drake London. 10 catches, 158 yards last week. Plus, he touched it down as they say. Zips to the end zone. Catch made. Reaching across to break the plane is Drake London. Feeding them the ball, Michael Pennix, who now has strung together two strong starts in a row. 250 yards and a touchdown versus the Bills. No picks. Thanks again off the play fake. Launches over the middle and wide open against a 49ers defense who has to figure out how to proceed without its heart and that just gave up 30 points to a Bucks offense that used backups most of the game save quarterback. 23 plus points allowed in three straight. Now one team makes it look a little simpler than the other. This is why I think it’s going to be hard for San Francisco. Mecca Bua hurt early. No Mike Evans or Chris Godwin. Niners secondary gave up a 45 yard TD to Tez Johnson. 51 yards to Sterling Shepard. 51 to Kate Uton. 64 and a touchdown to Cameron Johnson. Over 250 to Baker Mayfield. Two touchdowns. No picks. 139 rate allowed. Over 11 yardds per attempt given up. Try and communicate right here. Hey, uh, do you got anybody? Does anybody have them? Nobody has them. 49ers with a single sack in their loss to Tampa Bay. Not the same without Bosa. Penn took two last week on 32 pass attempts. Niners rush defense 102 yards allowed, four per carry. Couple touchdowns given up. Huge Baker run that hurt him late. He fights through the sack. Looking for first down yard. Oh my goodness. He’s done it again. The backup brigade that is the 49ers offense. Gave it another valiant effort but came up short last week. Just 19 points. Only made it to the land of Scott Hansen twice. As Jones tries to go to McCaffrey near the sticks. Incomplete. In theory, they get George KD back this week. Anything helps at this point, especially since they have that Falcons defense coming to town, and it’s no joke. Held the high-powered Bills offense to 14 points. Three for nine on third down. They’re seventh in points per game allowed now at an even 20. Fourth hardest to move the sticks against. Pump fake from Allen. And he’s not going to be able to escape. Secondary held Josh Allen to 180 yards, under seven yards per attempt. picked him off twice for a nice 72 rate. Now sitting on the third lowest rate in the league, first in completion percentage allowed, six yards per attempt, second lowest. Across the middle and instead throws an interception. Atlanta’s got a shot here. M. Jones left Tampa with plenty of yards, but no touchdowns, two picks, a 75 rate. Throwing for it and intercepted. And the Bucks take over. Jones took six sacks to a pass rush, averaging two per game prior. And Jones has been under pressure just like this the entire second half. Had backto-back one sack taken games previous two. Lost 51 yards on that sixer. Falcons hunted down Allen four times. No team had tracked him down that many times this year. They’re just assaulting the pocket just getting up field and trying to reestablish the line of scrimmage. Falcons secondary only allowed one Bills pass catcher more than 33 yards. Joshua Palmer with 60. lost in the Niners loss was Kendrick Bourne’s phenomenal twoame showing 142 yds week five 142 yds week six Jones going down the field and he’s found Bourne of all people tight end Jake Tongis has done a fine job filling in for KD 58 yds for the second time in three games down the field caught again Tonis four receptions in the third quarter Demarcus Robinson with a season high 44 yds as down the middle they go now they’re going to get it as they go back to Robin son and he breaks the tackle. Good for him. MVS 22 yds. Not sure what he was thinking on that last route he ran. Dinged up Joan Jennings, one catch, seven yardds. And CMC continues his torid pace as a receiver. 57 yards on seven catches, 50 plus receiving yards in every game so far. To McAffrey. Oh, spins away somehow. That’s crazy. Just a simple 20-yard play. Added 54 yds and a TD along the ground, too. Here it goes. McAffrey. There it is. Touchdown San Francisco. McAffrey though still struggling for efficiency down low. 3.2 per carry, making it five of six games he’s been under 3.3. Maybe he finds something against Atlanta, stopping runners their one blind spot on defense, giving up 4.5 a run to running backs this year after letting James Cook get him for 87 yards on 5.1 a carry. 42 yards allowed to Allen on seven per escape, too. This is Cook finding some space, driving forward, and he’s getting going now. That’s a welcome sign for Buffalo. If this is your first time visiting the game preview world, don’t worry. The Terminators haven’t taken over here. Sarah Connor is fighting AI just as hard as she fought off Arnold. Stay in it. We are not relaxed now. San Francisco and Atlanta used to play in the NFC West together. Didn’t realize the state of Georgia used to be out west. 2001, they went to OT twice. The second game a little more fun to watch than the first. This ain’t no time to be scared, baby. It’s now. Maybe the 49ers defense should have been scared. The Falcons offense, while inconsistent, can put up points in a hurry. It’s just a matter of time. Almost slipped as he took the ball. He wants to throw. He wants the end zone. He wants Owens. And he’s got him. He just stood there. He didn’t know what I was going to do. Terrell Owens was behind three defenders. Down by touchdown. Jeff steps up in the pocket, throws for the end zone. Caught. Oh, what a bonanza. Garcia to throw and he throws way down the right sideline. Owens is all alone. He’s got it. 15 10 touchdown 49ers. Heat. Heat.
