Ravens Offense Aims to Gets Its ‘Mojo Back’ | Baltimore Ravens Final Drive

Last year, the Ravens offense was the best in the NFL. Baltimore finished first in total yards with over 7,000 and led the league in average yards per game. In 2024, Baltimore became the first unit in league history to post 4,000 passing yards and 3,000 rushing yards in a single season. It was a record- setting attack that felt unstoppable. And this year, much of that same group is back. But six games into 2025, it hasn’t consistently looked the same. Through the first three games with Lamar Jackson healthy, the Ravens averaged 37 points per game, lighting up defenses for over 110 total points in just three games. In the two games since Lamar went out, that production dropped off sharply, just 13 points combined. It’s been a frustrating stretch for a unit that knows its potential. And offensive coordinator Todd Monkin says this by week is all about rediscovering that rhythm from year to year. You take the off season and you assess like what’s next, right? What’s next? What’s after year one? Okay, what are we going to do in 2024? What do we need to clean up? What can we be better at? Same with this year. Okay, where can we take that next step? Um, in some ways we started that way and it felt like that early. Um, and we just got to, like I said, get our mojo back a little bit. You know, I think there was a part of that Saturday. I know it doesn’t feel like it because we’re three points is not enough. I mean, I’m not here to say that, hey, boy, that was that was great. We we didn’t execute at certain times that would have given us an opportunity to win the game. But you’re right, that is what you do. You look at things and say, okay, what is it that uh we need to do moving forward? That mojo Monin’s talking about starts with execution, particularly in the red zone. The Ravens currently ranked 27th in the NFL in red zone touchdown percentage at just 44%. Against the Rams, Baltimore went 0 for3 inside the 20. Short yardage failures have also been a differencemaker, but there were some positive signs last Sunday. Derrick Henry looked like the king Derrick Henry again, racking up over 120 yards after four straight sub50ard outings. And the Ravens reestablished some toughness at the line of scrimmage, outrushing the Rams by over 100 yards. Still, Monin and his group know it’s not just about flashes, it’s about finishing. Baltimore’s 10 turnovers are tied for the second most in the NFL. And those giveaways have wiped away scoring chances far too often. That’s why this bye-week is critical. It’s a chance to self scout, to simplify where needed, and to find ways to finish drives. But then we got to go out and do it. There there’s only so much you can talk, right? You got to go out and do it. You got to go out and execute. And uh we got to start with us as coaches and then down the line when we get opportunities on the field uh cash in on it like we’ve done in the past. With a little less than two weeks before hosting the Chicago Bears in week eight, Todd Monkin and the Ravens will look to rediscover that spark and get their mojo back just in time for the second half of the season. We’re going to take a few days to enjoy the bye-week. So, thanks for watching. Enjoy the break and we’ll see you again next week.

Offensive Coordinator Todd Monken believes the Ravens took a step forward versus the Rams, but they’ll evaluate scheme tweaks during the bye.

  1. We still have a chance after the bye week I’m liking the bye week everyone come back healthy and the defense play the way the did with the rams and the offense click let’s go 12-5 I’m calling it

  2. I know we gotta get better at scoring Lamar Jackson can do it not Cooper Rush. No Lamar Jackson is it is him is everything for the ravens and the ravens actually know that now.🐦‍⬛🖤💜

  3. From top 3-5 in TOP last year to bottom 1-5 this entire season does not help the D. I adamantly believe this seasons start could’ve easily been avoided if Monken wasn’t so pass happy and utilized LJ properly, especially short yardage and situationally. This is a run dominant team designed to keep the clock running and dictate the pace and tempo. There’s no reason, besides the play caller, that a team with these weapons should be so low in TOP.

  4. 22-2 and 6-14 since ‘23 when we win TOP vs when we don’t. This includes the playoff losses to KC and BUF. Question is when will Monken learn? This is not an air raid squad. There’s no reason to panic if we’re down 1-2 scores. This team is designed to dictate pace and tempo through the run game. Utilize LJs legs especially in short yardage and situationally. Move the pocket. Do it right and watch how our D starts “magically” playing better.
