Serious question: is Copley not good enough to be the #2? They love him as an insurance policy but considering what he did several years ago shouldn’t he get a shot as the backup.
Or is this more asset mismanagement from the front office?
If nothing else this should light a fire under Kuemper and Forsberg

What the hell is going on? Holland is going to set this team back 3 years by not playing young players. Copley will end up in Ontario again and Portillo won’t get the games he needs to develop as an NHL tender. This is on Luc’s shoulders now. He needs to go.

Look guys, I’m all in favor of shitting on Holland because he’s done a terrible job. But this move is nothing that shocking. We had to put him on waivers to send him down to the AHL. Timing was unfortunate and Tampa Bay needed a goalie due to some injuries so they claimed him. Now Kuemper is dealing with some issues so we need another goalie for the AHL. It makes sense for us to give up a minor asset to get back a Goalie we trust.
Oh cool a fresh new youngster
I’m incredibly fond of our goalie from North Pole, but this sequence of moves is baffling. What are they doing/smoking over in El Segundo?
I don’t care what the doomers say in this thread. I love Pheonix Copley, and this is the best news I’ve heard all season.

So the kings are hooked on Phoenix?
I guess it’s easier than trading for someone fresh and getting them into the system. Might have been a hand shake deal when TB claimed him.
