too out of the way, but fun
McGovern’s is a fantastic bar. Newark legend. However, I have only consumed Guinness there, not Miller Lite or Yuengling.
Used to go to McGovern’s when I went to NJIT, fun times. I’m sure it’s a good deal, but it’s like a 15 minute walk from Prudential. Definitely not THAT far, but I’m probably just gonna keep stopping in at Redd’s for a liter before games.

McGoverns is a genuinely great spot. However, for the large group of dorks who are terrified of being outdoors in Newark, you should be aware that it is not super close to the Arena; it’ll be like a 7-8 block walk. Not a bad or especially dangerous walk at all, but a walk nonetheless.
