49ers consider Trey Hendrickson an ideal fit ahead of NFL trade deadline

He’s practically a Bosa clone.
But I’d only trade for him, if he’s willing to re-sign for a reasonable contract, considering his age.
Will McDonald we are also rumored to be interested in, and that’s a Saleh guy
Are the Bengals still running that 2 for 1 promotion? Buy one Hendrickson get one Ja’Marr for free? Maybe I misread the classifieds…
IDK I’m nervous since this season is still kind of in the air it’s not us going all in, also worried about what we’dhave to give up a big reason the 2023 draft was so bad was the ammount of assets we had to give up for Mcaffery (and honestly fucking up with late round picks is worse than trading 3 for Lance IMO) and IMO until this team addresses the o line it’s not a contender
You only consider this option and price tag if you don’t plan on extending Bosa in ‘26. If that’s the plan, I see a hold out/trade demand coming, again, in ‘26
Another “article” linked here that’s just a take on something another reporter was “told”. Why do we allow this slop mods
A lot of ideal fits out there, doesn’t meant anything major will be done. I’d be surprised to see anyone of that caliber added at this point.
Pretty sure the Colts want him too so he’s not exactly going to be cheap.
A one year rental to take 3rd place and miss the playoffs? No thanks
He also left the game this week with a back injury
With Warner out and all existing injuries do we really even have a chance? Who know how Purdy comes back or Kittle and I’m at the point where I’m done with Aiyuk. He seems to have gotten paid and doesn’t give a crap now.
I’m still not over all pro Fred’s injury man 😔
Definitely, an ideal fit, and very much needed. It’s hard to agree fully w/o seeing what would be given up.
Of course he’s a perfect fit, he’s already injured!
IDGAF bring in anyone at this point
This is not our year. Don’t need to be trading draft picks for rentals
I happy they don’t listen to fans to trade for garbage and a rental? Even worse
Can’t wait to trade for a new star player just for HIM to suffer a season-ending injury
without Fred it doesn’t matter
And he’s currently hurt. Perfect fit.
I hate these headlines. Just fluff and something to write about. Obviously he’s a great fit. Bijan Robinson is a great fit too. Hell even Jalen Ramsey. We aren’t trading for anyone (except maybe Arden Key if the deal is for a 6th rd pick because he has another year left on his deal)
He’s perfect fit.. He’s injured.
This is like the Beltran trade in the year posey went down. Pre Fred yes. Post Fred no way
I just don’t agree with pursuing a move like this anymore. Bosa out is huge, but losing Fred has a ripple effect that will hit every phase of the defense. Pass rush help will take some of the load off, but Fred’s effect on offenses can’t be replaced and the ceiling without him is much lower. I’d rather not give up picks when we’re talking about likely an incremental improvement in a season without him.
Idk, don’t let him take a look at our IR list. He might not want to join 😅
He’d definitely be a great fit for our defense but he’s going to be expensive. Lot of teams are going to want him and he’s a free agent next year so may end up being just a rental if we go all in this year.
Don’t do it. Fight with who we have. We are not one player away from a superbowl. Keep our picks and let’s strengthen the oline in the draft.
But why, we can’t sign him long term and he is going to be expensive
Sure. Can he play LT? LG? C?
Can he cover on Special Teams?
Only trade high picks if we can get him for 2 years at least
It’d take a 3rd+ because otherwise the Bengals could just lose him in the offseason and get the comp pick.
Next 3 weeks are crucial, if they somehow manage to take 2 out of the 3 games I think a Hendrickson rental becomes more justified if only to give the defensive side some belief they could make noise ending the year and in the playoffs potentially.
Pass, this ain’t the year to go all in.
No the author jaleel grandbury thinks he’s a perfect fit. The 49ers by all accounts aren’t in the market to spend that much cash or draft capital.
Lets not make an already bad situation worse by spending draft capital and cap space to get a dude that will just be a temporary rental for a team that is decimated by injury. Trey Hendrickson and any reasonable get at MLB does not make us a contender. We got dealt a shitty hand that we should not be going all in on.
I think I’d rather see them punt on the season, develop the rookies and draft some OL in the offseason. We’re not one pass rusher away from a SB roster.
If we’re doing this i’d like to see a LB trade as well. Get both or neither. Demario Davis maybe
