Washington Commanders vs Dallas Cowboys | Week 7 Game Preview

Cowboys back at home this week, forgetting the big D. They’d settle for even a little D right now. They host the Commanders. Both teams trying to rebound from disappointing losses. Snap a bid high. Kick is good and the Bears win it. That game- losing field goal brought to you by shooting yourself in the foot. Commanders could be sitting at 4-2 right now had they just held on to the ball last week. Two fumbles lost that weren’t forced by anything but maybe mother nature. Jaden Daniels also threw a pick on a pass he kind of telegraphed. Put a damper on an otherwise fine night on the job. 19 for 26 equals a 73% completion rate. Three touchdowns over eight yards per attempt at 119 rate. That’s back-to-back 100 plus rate games. So he’s not coming in cold. Daniels wide open for the touchdown. McAffrey. Despite the three turnovers, Washington still put up a respectable 24 points. So 24 plus points back-to-back weeks for the Commanders over the middle. Caught for the touchdown. Zack Z. Three for eight on third down. Only one red zone trip. So plenty to clean up. But there is no better defense to tidy things up against than Alys’s. 30 points allowed to Carolina whose offense is far from a juggernaut. They are allowing 30 a game right now. Only one team giving up more. No team worse on third down. Steps up, throws wide open. man is down and he’s going to take it to the end zone. Want to feel like a stud quarterback? Go after a secondary last in yards per attempt and yards per completion allowed. One that’s given up more passing touchdowns than any team. More yards per game allowed than anyone else. A 116 raid allowed. Go ahead and guess where it ranks. Yeah, dead last. Fires. Scores. Touchdown. Commanders hoping to get Terry McLaren back this week, too. That could be scary. Bears DBs hit Debo with a brick, keeping him to 15 yards. Luke McAffrey with a 33yd TD catch. Jaylen Lane 37 yards last week. Zack Z scored 43 yds. Daniels protected looking downfield. Flag on the play and Lane with a catch. Chris Moore with 46 yds and a beauty of a TD catch. One knee equals two feet. It sure does. As John Madden once said, and boy that was a thing of beauty. Daniels took three sacks. He’s taken that many or more in three of his four games. Daniels is swallowed up and brought down back near the 32. Dallas’s front with just one takedown of Bryce Young on 25 pass attempts. That same bunch also comes in cold when it comes to stopping runners. Guess they forgot Rico Dael wasn’t on their team anymore as they let him go for 183 yards on 6.1 a carry. He’s got a blocker in Brady Christensen. He cuts it for a first down into the red zone. Now giving up 4.7 a run to running backs. Washington’s Jakori Kroski Merritt ran for 61 yds versus Chicago 111 the week before only 3.6 a run last week. Daniels more efficient 52 yds on 10 tries. Daniels with play action. Great protection and now he’ll go breaking tackles and a nice gain. Washington might be facing a Swiss cheese defense, but they are also facing a potent portables offense and one that might get CD Lamb back plus one of their lineman. Dak Prescott has fared pretty well without them, too. 261 yards, three TDs, no picks versus Carolina, a 124 rate, 120 plus rate, and three straight. Dak Prescott floats it. Hunter Lipkkey the fullback with a touchdown. Cowboys OFace is third in points per game with 29 per after hanging 27 up week seven. 27 plus points in four of their last five. Hunter Lipkkey the fullback ends up getting the first reception for a touchdown in his NFL career. Washington’s defense gave up 24 points to the Bears. Many of those aided by their offense giving up the ball three times. They’re holding teams to 21 overall, 11th on third down, 10th in the red zone. They held Chicago to three for 10 on third down. Forced them to try five field goals, one of which they blocked. And blocked. Blocked by Washington. They mainly had trouble with DeAndre Swift in their last loss. 55 of the 252 they gave up to Caleb Williams on a 55 yd pass. They let Swift get loose on rate allowed near 100, which is what they’ve given up to quarterbacks for 2025. And still going. DeAndre Swift fears into the end zone. So Dak does appear to be lined up for another good game, especially if he gets CD back and has better protection, which hasn’t been a problem anyway. Zero sacks taken on 34 pass attempts versus the Panthers. Zero to one sacks taken, three straight. Now second and long for Prescott. He’ll check it down. And Williams Washington came up with three Caleb sacks. Dorance Armstrong with a half a bag which means he’s been in on the action five of his six games. And now Williams gets sacked by Armstrong. Commanders allowed a couple of Bears white outs to go for 40 plus receiving yards. DJ Moore 42. Luther Burden 51. Lamb and George Pickins are going to be much tougher to handle. George’s chemistry with Dak is on tilt. 168 yards last week. Scored in his fifth straight game. Slant Pickkins breaks free. George Pickicket touchdown Dallas and the Cowboys take the lead. Tight end Jake Ferguson with a score in his third straight two. See him route Ferguson tight end touchdown. Ferg with only 33 yardds which was more than Javvante Williams 29 rush yards. Williams only 2.2 per carry. He had been on a nice four-game run. Maybe he picks it back up versus Washington. They have played backs well in 2025 but not week six. Guess they wanted anyone named Swift to have a big week. giving up over a 100 yards to him along the ground. 7.7 per carry allowed. His long was just 19, too. Got to the edge and goes down with a first down. A newer viewer of these videos commented in the Washington preview last week, “This lazy AI script and voice over is unacceptable for the NFL.” Wait, so AI can be lazy? That’s a relief cuz it means I’m working on an even playing field. Communicate. Dominate. Keep it simple. 130 Washington Dallas meetings. Cowboys with 30 more wins. Only two playoff meetings ever. Washington winning both 1982 season and in 72. Washington’s head coach George Allen openly detested the boys. So that was a big deal. Just remember this. 40 men together can’t lose. Okay. In the early minutes of the championship game, the Cowboys seem to be the better team. But a football game is played on two levels. One visible, the other in the dirt.   5. okay so this has to be a coincidence, but starting at about 20 seconds until about the 1 minute mark, the background music sounds eerily like "the foggy dew" and i can't un-hear it now

  7. If we avoid turning the ball over, Skins win. I'm not asking my defense to get any because they simply are allergic to them. Our special teams has been a bright spot, and JD5 is still the man. This offense can do damage if we get off the starting block a little quicker. I got 5, and I got us beating Dallas. HTTR! C'mon, Commanders!

  8. The Cowboys are a +1.5 point underdog this week at home vs the Commies must mean that Vegas doesn't trust the Commies defense to stop the Cowboys high scoring offense. Before I get to my score prediction, I want to empathize that the Cowboys need a big time must win this weekend because if they go to 2-4-1, the season is pretry much over at this point because the schedule is only going to get tougher from here on out. With that being said, here is my final score prediction for the game on Sunday:

    Cowboys 37
    Commanders 24

    I don't see the Commies stopping the Cowboys offense and with Lamb, Turpin, Mingo, and Booker back this week, its only going to get tougher for the Commanders chances this Sunday after blowing their chances against the Bears on Monday. Now, the Cowboys defense is very VERY bad, BUT I think that there is going to be a change in schemes from Matt Eberflus this week now that Jerry Jones is involved.

  10. Im convinced this Dallas team can drop 40 on any defense… and convinced they can give up 40 to any offense
    if one of them get one turnover it’s over. Im hype to finally see Dak vs Jaylen

  11. If the Wash secondary can stop trying to head tackle players and their infamous shoulder blocking which only pushes ball carriers an extra 5 yds they might win. But its Dallas, with these 2 teams no one except God knows what will happen.

  22. We need Overshown back so bad. We need a premier pass rusher out of a trade. We need our DBs to buy in. Shemar James is shining so bad because our other linebackers aren’t making any tackles. I say a trade for Quinnen or a run stopping DE instead of a pass rusher would help our linebackers. Let Houston and Clowney rotate on the other side.

  28. We should not only get Scary Terry Mclaurin back but also Sam Cosmi is coming back

    Plus Kevin Burkhart and Tom Brady is calling the game and so far we are 2-0 with them on the call and 3-1 overall with the only loss to the Eagles in the NFC Title Game

    Plus we need this win and Minnesota has to win so we can be 2-0 in our Division

  29. We don't care about stats anymore. Different teams do better against different schemes. This should be an interesting game regardless of stats. Washington's rush attack should do well, but both passing offenses might trade blows. It's hard to call this one 🤔
