Do you think he will have time to improve, or is he a casualty of the trade deadline?

  1. With his injury history, sheer number of concussions, and how long this rebuild is going to take, it is an absolute no brainer to cash in on his value immediately.

  2. I wanted to trade him like two years ago while he still had hype, but now he’s useful to us and not worth much. Keep.

  3. If Pittsburgh or Washington is desperate, they might offer a 3rd. A 2nd would be a fleece. If it’s a 3rd or later, Saints reject… imagine trading Olave for a 4th, a 4th that you traded for Vale who isn’t/or can’t play more than 10 snaps on offense. Keep him, he’s on pace for another 1k yrds receiving if healthy.

  4. I don’t get why you would trade him. Receiver is a need we have. He’s a top receiver.

Even if we got an extra 1st round, there’s a world where we would need to draft a receiver

  5. Yeah I’m not trading him. He’s a good receiver plus whatever they gonna give us for him ain’t gonna be shit.

  6. I like him but he is in the last year before the option year.

If signed to fifth year option he is at minimum getting paid 15 million for that option year.

If they can get good value in a trade do it.

I don’t think he is worth a second contract at this point without the big guy to take that role needed to move the chains.

He needs that Reggie Wayne wr so he can be the Harrison.

  7. I cannot imagine us paying him $20-$30 million a year when his contract expires, he’s got a season and a half left with us, minus whatever injuries he will have, we’re rebuilding. Good luck, Chris Olave, and there’s no shame in doing the Tyler Lockett thing somewhere else.

  8. I genuinely don’t understand the Chris Olave hate, particularly this drops narrative. Here are some notable players with more or the same amount of drops this year: Brian Thomas, CMC, Davante Adams, CeeDee Lamb, Ladd McConkey, ARSB.
2024 notable players top 10 in drops: Ja’Mar Chase, Malik Nabers, Courtland Sutton, and ceedee is just outside the top 10.
And 2023? Puka, Tyreek, ARSB, Adams, JSN, Diggs.

The players who get the most targets usually have the most drops. Olave is earning targets at an elite rate this year, which is way sticker than drops. He might not be a true alpha WR1, but he is an incredible receiver whose only real concern imo is a health concern

  9. We draft like shit so we what get a 4th … which is what we gave away for Vele. So we essentially traded Olave for Vele … Saints front office doing saints front office things.

  10. If there’s a good enough offer, think he’s gone. But don’t think he’ll be traded away at any cost.

  11. I’ve said it multiple times and I’ll say it again. With his multiple concussions, he should have retired. Health should always outweigh greed.

  12. We need Olave – he’s a superb talent who may be in a bit of a slump but that can change in the blink of an eye. Any athlete who has played any sport at length knows about how slumps go. A 5-6 game streak shouldn’t define a man. Shame on you who are throwing shade on the man.

  13. Unless we getting a 2nd round pick, I’d keep him and make a priority to grab a true WR1 next offseason and move Olave to WR2

  14. Cooks can do 85 percent of his production this season and we can spread the targets around more. Maybe actually see Vele used a bit more seeing he cost us a 4th rounder.

  15. If he is traded and it limits Spencers growth, there better be a good damn plan for next year.
