October 16, 2025
He absolutely NAILS the root cause of this endless disease of us always having to try and justify wins.

Good point and I completely agree. A lot of whiny people’s voices can only be heard because of social media.
With the title I thought you were disagreeing but I understand the phrasing now. It’s spot on. Social media is a cancer.
Kinda funny he pretends like the same thing didn’t happen to the patriots. I mean shit I bet if I searched his account I could find a tweet about Dee Ford offsides.
Not disagreeing with anything else he said just find that part kinda odd.
I remember watching Brady and the Patriots winning all the time and I absolutely hated them but only because of spy gate did I ever think they cheated. People just need a reason to hate something special.
Zero lies detected.
NFL loves the narrative, they have a team that is ultra popular with younger fans because they are good, and a team that everyone else wants to watch and root against cause they are good.
It’s hard to make mahomes a villain because he is such a great guy, they have invented this “cheating” narrative to foster more engagement. The nfl could squash all the BS really quick, but they have no interest, they prolly encourage guys like Troy Aikman to talk shit on national broadcasts.
We can only hope so. And I genuinely hope none of the chiefs fans are involved in this bullshit in the future. And if they are, they will excommunicated.
This, the endless shouty shows and the gambling are absolutely ruining sports man
That along with the pandemic of online sports gambling
None of what he describes happens in Reddit, so we are all in a safe place to discuss the refs here. /s
Born & raised in KC, went to college in Oklahoma & I currently live in Florida. As such I am a Chiefs, Thunder & Panthers fan. (I’ve been riding an unbelievable high the last few years.) What the Chiefs experience is not unique at all. Regardless of the sport, if a team is winning the online discourse around them is bound to be toxic AF.
The league is rigged for the Chiefs and they pay off the refs, Shai is a fraud and a foul merchant, and the Panthers are all thugs and Bettman keeps fixing the finals against Edmonton because he hates Canada.
That there is a big ol dose of truth.
Very true, Facebook has flooded my feed with people I’ve never heard of crying about the officiating in Chiefs games.
I’ll also add gambling to this era

It’s so absurd, it was 4 assessed penalties to 0, with one of the four being a delay of game where the Lions didn’t even attempt to snap the ball. A difference of four penalties IS. NOT. NOTEWORTHY.
Beyond that, *it was a 13 point loss*, where the Lions spent pretty much the entire second half trailing my 10+.
It’s not just that any random person can act like an analyst and give their opinion, another major aspect of it is that the actual analysts, or at least the people on TV and in games who are regarded as analysts, allow the narratives from social media to completely penetrate and change the way they talk about the games. It’s pathetic that every single piece of NFL media if they’re talking about the chiefs has to include them talking about “oh ya know the refs this and that people think it’s bad”.
This isn’t just in sports media either all media is corrupted this way it’s infuriating. These journalists/analysts/pundits need to have more respect for their field and the history of their field.
There was some dumbass hyperbole about the Chiefs in r/NFL and I pointed out how hyperbolic and stupid that is. Dude responded that if you’re not abusing Reddit anonymity to throw around hyperboles, you’re doing it wrong. I pointed out how toxic that shit is, and I was the one who got downvoted lol. I assume because of my chefs flair.
Everything is gonna seem like shit when you have a breakdown that the NFL is rigged every time the best team in the league wins…
The ref crap hasn’t bothered me one bit because;
A) It’s not true.
2) I don’t care what some person on the Internet is whining about.
B) Fuck em. We’ve won a bunch of Super Bowls.
Matt is the best
I’ve decided to just enjoy it. They hate the chiefs because they fear the chiefs
Nobody gave a shit when they thought it was gonna be a down year
It’s also funny in light of the Branch incident because everyone who’s up in arms over him being suspended just *conveniently* “forget” or don’t even know that **what happened Sunday was part of a much longer pattern with Branch.** He’s been fined how many times since last season because of his short temper? But we’re supposed to forget those and be upset because his suspension happened after a Chiefs game? *eye roll*
Every time I see someone complaining about refs, saying they suck, saying the league is rigged, I respond with this picture of the 5 Franchise Championship rings. Yes I included their AFL Championship as the Dallas Texans.
Brockman on Rich Eisen always says the Patriots weren’t shoved down everybody’s throat like the Chiefs but this is exactly why. Different times and they definitely would be if they were the dynasty right now.
Hes not wrong. Just look at all the idjits on r/NFL. Think they know better than the actual officials when they dont know their head from their ass!
“Shaq/Kobe Showtime Lakers”
Excuse me what
This is spot on.
But we don’t need to justify wins. I now avoid most social media. I know enough about football and our team. I don’t need to browse those channels. I’m not completely deaf to it, but I limit it as absolutely as much as I can. I’m old enough to remember the dark days of yore. Just sit back and enjoy the ride.

Chiefs baby ❤️💛❤️💛
They hate us because they are not us.
After this dynasty I understand patriots fans better now. At least the patriots earned the hate with all their scandals. The chiefs have never done anything but beat you and date someone you couldn’t. I would hate us too.
