Orlando Magic show offensive promise but need improvement

Again, the question is, will this last? Is this something real, or is this just a preseason hiccup? We’ve seen those before. We’ve seen the Magic focus on things, deliver them in the preseason, deliver them even early in the season, and then fall back into bad habits. I think the Magic are genuinely trying to do something different on offense. I don’t think this is the same offense and the same kind of scheme and the same kind of, you know, some similar concepts for sure, but the Magic are trying an offensive overhaul here. And they’re, you know, they had a the starting group had a 120 offensive rating. They they would say, and I would agree with them, defense needs to be better. Some fouling, just being late on things, turnovers leading to transition points. They won their minutes, so the starters did their job. And again, like we’re looking at smaller samples than normal for one game, but the magic need to make this kind of thing stick. And that’s again what we’re going to be watching for Friday.
