  1. We’re going to squeeze into the playoffs, Warner’s going to go insane on the recovery, and find a way to come back wild card/divisional round.

    Yes I’m insanely delusional

  2. I can for sure see a wildcard but it will be a cold day in hell if they make it past that

  3. We had big issues before Fred got hurt. This team can’t run the ball and can’t consistently rush the passer. Fred or no Fred, if those issues don’t get solved this team won’t be able to compete in January.

  4. So many doomers in here. Fact is, there are exactly zero powerhouse teams in the NFC and tbh I’m not really seeing one in the AFC either. Quite literally EVERY team has some pretty significant gaps in their roster and we are fully capable of winning or losing against any of them.

I see absolutely no reason why we can’t make the postseason and maybe even do some damage once we’re there.

  5. Let’s get the rookie in at LB and play more big safety/nickel safety sets on D. A big safety can hit and cover. And go out and try to find one pass rusher.

We are finally getting push from the middle of our DL. We have a rookie DE that is getting better every game. Both he and our 2nd round DT are having impact in games, and improving weekly.

When we get our offensive starters back in the next few weeks, and maybe our rookie WR who turned a lot of heads in preseason, we’ll be able to control the ball longer. With Kittle in the lineup our running game is 25-30% better (see NextGen Stats). We should be able to increase our time of possession long enough to keep the other team’s offence off the field. That’s the only way we can shelter our D if that’s what we want to do.

For the situation to be what it is, we can’t ask for better defensive coordinator or better offensive play caller. Saleh and Shanahan are head and shoulders above other league coaches. We saw that in the Rams game. We saw that in the Seahawks game.

The main thing we need to hope for now is the team doesn’t give up. But, since a lot of key positions are rookies and youngsters, that’s not likely. And most of our veterans are not the giving up type. That’s because our organization and coaches are great. They are careful about not picking head cases. We look for the proper fit, while many teams only consider raw talent.

I’m still excited to see what will happen this year. Keep in mind that other teams are experiencing injuries weekly as well. And imagine what this team will look like next season!
