He’s a young guy slowly getting better; he’s actually shown substantial growth every single week. Why would you bench a 2nd-year QB that rarely makes mistakes and consistently improves every week for a rookie QB that he already beat out, who is also older than him? Are y’all actually serious💀?? Excuse my French, but I’m old enough to remember how ASSS and straight-up inconsistent Brees was his first few years in the NFL… I think this fan base is straight up spoiled with experiencing a top 3 QB in NFL history for 15 years, so y’all just lack patience and expect INSTANT success, when in reality patience is a part of the rebuild. Rattler is actually giving y’all the opportunity to not reach for another QB early next season and fulfill other needs, which is the most important part of not being caught in a seemingly infinite cycle.

bro has balled out but these bitches wanted that other guy….
A lot of us like rattler I think he probably our franchise qb it’s probably like 70% like him 30% don’t
Because we drafted Shough. If we hadn’t I think a lot more fans would be very happy with Rattlers performance so far.
I always loved rattler’s game since he was in hs. If you think this year people been hard on him then you should have seen last year when some of these people were saying Jake Haener was better
Because we’re still not over Brees, and only winning one super bowl with him still stings. That, and I just don’t like the way Rattler looks. Also, I wish he had won at least 2 games, instead of 1. However, I’m sure he’s fun at parties.
I see more posts asking why the hate than posts with actual hate. Not sure what you’re talking about.
I don’t hate him, but I don’t see his game vastly improving. He doesn’t have much touch or good ball placement. He can learn to make all the best decisions in the world but they won’t matter if he can’t get more accurate.
He’s not getting any better, just staying at the bottom of the league even with heavy use of scripted plays that will eventually all be figured out.
Well for one, it’s a byproduct of the toxic mess of a QB controversy we had last season where some fans Stanned Rattler but hated Carr, even though Carr was objectively better.
[insert sunk cost fallacy argument here]
There are a ton of reasons for that but let’s leave the past behind. Some are controversial.
Rattler is an also 5th round pick who was given an opportunity to start the latter half on the 2024 season and did absolutely [terribly](https://www.nfl.com/players/spencer-rattler/stats/logs/2024/).
We then drafted a QB who matched Rattler’s numbers and showed more poise and decisiveness in preseason.
That should answer your question.
Most 5th round picks don’t get a season and half worth of opportunities. Especially after going winless and showing little to no flashes his first year.
[insert excuses about 2024 team here]
While I agree that Spencer Rattler has some game, has definitely been improving, and looks much better than he did last year (he was constantly sacked and creating turnovers – so, not hard to look better) I would expect **any** NFL caliber player to improve after 12 starts.
Kellen Moore isn’t asking alot of Rattler either. So it’s not hard to put up decent stats. He’s molding him into the type of game manager Hurts is.
1. Don’t turn the ball over.
2. Focus on the run or the short, quick pass game.
3. Use your elusiveness when necessary or when it’s schemed for.
Rattler has done a good job at this. Moore even looks to be opening up the playbook a little more and letting him take more deep shots. Or maybe Rattler feels comfortable enough to send it instead of checking down.
But we have some fans here who talk about Rattler like he is Jesus incarnated into a QB. Where **NOTHING** is ever his fault, the receivers are bad, the OL is bad, the defense is bad, the playcalling is bad, the coaching is bad, EVERYONE but my pookie bear Rattler is bad. Those bad throws costing us touchdowns and losing us 1 score games are not his fault! And Rattler is an EXCELLENT QB who deserves 3 seasons of investment MINIMUM.
That last paragraph describes the average **vocal** Rattler fan that many people dislike. So it’s not hard to see why people dislike the guy.
If we thought Rattler was the problem there would be way more posts calling for Shough. Those of us who watch the games are actually kind of happy and surprised with his performance recently. It’s a rebuild and he’s a positive part of that.
Cuz this fanbase when it comes to the qb is Brees level or bust..I hate the ideology
We had drew brees and we blew money on carr and now were in a tanking slump with old guys. We’re 1-11 with rattler.
Because fans are now spoiled and expect every QB to be Brees when in reality. Drew Brees’ type QBs are generational. Rattler is an average QB who doesn’t turn the ball over and is consistent at completing passes. People are just delusional too.
It’s an overreaction to the rabidly pro-rattler side of the fanbase. Rattler has been better than youd expect a 5th round second year QB to be. His performance has been nothing special compared to the average NFL starter and he isn’t winning any games for us, but he also isn’t losing any games for us. Nothing about his play is particularly problematic for a rebuilding team.
However, you’ve got a lot of people who see him playing passably (but not particularly well) and declaring him the future. You’ll have people call a game where he threw 1 touchdown, 200 yards, missed a bunch of easy throws and lost “an amazing performance” or “balling out.” Those same people will then blame the receivers, the line or coaching for the loss.
This has worn on people, and trying to site stats or examples of the Rattler mistakes that contributed to the loss then gets labeled as hating.
I just don’t think he fits what Kellen Moore wants in his qb. Rattler is a great under center play action passer. The saints are lined up in the shotgun 90% of the time and don’t run that much play action.
I just miss Teddy bridgewater 😔
Idk he just seems like a cool dude and I want our rookie qb to win
Rattler is getting better by the minute, and the best is yet to come. It is evident that he is learning to trust his instincts and his teammates, and a blind man could see the mutual respect that is building between the veterans and the rookies.
Brees spoiled them so now they are too dumb to understand let that young man grow.
Because our sub is full of whiny kids who didn’t experience the Saints pre-Brees/Payton
He’s not winning the games
