He’s only started 8 GAMES so hopefully it will get better

  1. It will when Mooney is fully back and Ray Ray gets he’s head together and plays team ball.

  2. I hope Penix also sees this & becomes more aggressive with using his legs when necessary.

  3. That makes sense. Penix is great at knowing the soft spots, and London is better vs zone as well. Robinson has schemed up good pick plays in the past, needs to do it more

  4. He’s right. Penix picks apart zone and has a lot of room to grow against man. I like our guys in London and Pitts especially to be matchup nightmares against man coverage though. Hell even Mooney is a pretty good man beater with his speed if he can get right and healthy.

Penix vs man so far https://imgur.com/a/eZ7Ai3s

  5. After halftime, Bills started switching their coverage to man to take advantage of this. Plus Matthews getting hurt, the line struggled with protection.

  6. I mean we saw it second half against the bills. Mooney is our man beater but also I would hope a certain unicorn steps up as well.

  7. Penix needs to have a more consistent group of receivers so he can identify mismatches. He already does a great job with London

  8. Should we look at the trade deadline for a receiver?

If Ray Ray isnt going to work out, something to think about – just not sure what we have thats an asset other than draft picks which I would avoid

  9. Hopefully Mooney is back this week. I don’t expect we will hear what is up with Ray Ray anytime soon, but if he’s not playing this week it will be interesting to see how the offense moves forward without him. Hodge and Penix have a good rapport. Maybe something that starts to emerge.

  10. Not sure why this is a penix thing when its literally just receivers winning their match ups

  11. He just needs to get better at recognizing man coverage which is teachable so I’m not too worried about it. There’s no reason that ball shouldn’t be going to pitts or London in man

  12. He will definitely get better and grow with experience. He’s impressed me so far, he’s still early in the NFL, the NFL really is a different beast. He needs to drop his inner brows like Vegeta and learn to get savage with this shit. He’s in the same position and same team that Michael Vick, Matt Ryan, and Chris Chandler helmed. He needs to have at least 3 receivers he can trust at any time. London is that guy, Pitts behind, Mooney close behind. Yea mccloud and Washington are there but you gotta be able to make NFL plays, that requires the type of work, trust, and ability that you can throw it to your guy before he even looks and knows it’s coming in 3 seconds time every time. It’s gonna take a lot of practice reps with his best guys, but then again Robinson is there for the dump off every other play so you know it’s not so bad right lmao

  13. i think this is moreso our recievers (apart from mooney, who’s been out/injured) not really being separation recievers, so penix has to be super pinpoint vs man. get some more diverse receivers out there and it won’t be a factor.

  14. Man coverage and young QBs don’t mix well in the NFL.

They don’t see much man in college and aren’t attuned to the tight window anticipation throws it takes to beat anything other than busted coverage against man.

This aspect could take some time to get dialed in.

  15. Makes sense given Penix’s laser arm. The ball teleports to receivers open in zone coverage before the defenders can react.
