Plz no revisionist history for Mitch or Fields…
Idk it just looks a lot more different than that
Ah yes, the cherry pick the stats for my argument strategy.
I rarely make a post about past Bear QBs but I definitely liked, not loved, Trubisky. Always had a certain faith in him.
Trubisky was on a stacked superbowl contending team that year. He was the weak link. The first 7 games were cherry picked where he had 15 tds inflated by the TB game(6tds) along with a soft schedule. For reference he had 17 touchdowns 10 interceptions the entire next season. Caleb has a favorable stretch starting now to build some confidence.
Is kissing titties our yard stick for failure around here?
I don’t know exactly how to pinpoint it, but I just never thought Mitch was the guy. Even when he broke out for six touchdowns against the buccaneers, even when we made it to the playoffs, I just never believed in him for even a minute. Just didn’t have anything that would blow you away.
A lot of the stats in Mitch’s career were frontloaded in his first season. Everything after 2018 was downhill
Mitch and Nagy were cooking towards the beginning of 2018, when they were playing bad defenses and nobody had figured them out yet. It’s probably similar to Orton and McDaniels in 2009, when Kyle started out looking like a goddamn MVP.
Does this include his 6 td game in Tampa?
How do people keep forgetting that Mitch started his career under Fox, not Nagy
Now do 22 games, which is the actual number of games Williams has played to date.
so Mitch in the beginning was actually good. it’s towards the end where it got bad
Mitch After 15 games:
– 2784 pass yards
– 9 TDs
– 10 INT
– 61 % comp
Caleb after 15 games:
– 3271 pass yards
– 19 TDs
– 5 INT
– 62% comp
Selecting an arbitrary amount of games to get engagement is so annoying and what I can’t stand about sports these days. I know op had nothing to do with the image but still
Mitch wasn’t bad, he took the Bears to the playoffs twice. Coaching and management did him dirty. Now he’s having a very successful career as a backup behind Jared fucking Allen! Titty lickin Mitch wasn’t a dynasty QB, but he doesn’t deserve the gate he gets.
NVP guaranteed
Mitch has nothing else to prove now that he has probably the best job in the nfl rn.
I don’t have any stats off the dome to back this up but this just feels like the league was different back then. I feel like teams can’t really air it out the way they did back even just a few (7 holy shit) years ago
Caleb is progressing, every game. You can see his brain moving faster, processing time is getting sharper.
Mitch regressed during and after these 19 games multiple times.
Still super intriguing stats. Thanks for sharing. 🐻
Considering what a bad situation Williams had his rookie season, this bodes well for him.
To be fair, Caleb had 6 games where he didn’t pass for more than 150 yards last year. He’s playing way better and I think it will be more meaningful to compare their first 30 or 35 games
Why first 19? Trying to push a narrative or something. I’m assuming Caleb passed him in game 20 with his 300 yards 4 TDs.
Looked it up. Mitch went 12 of 20 with 135 yards 1 TD, 1 int.
So yeah, first 20 games, Caleb has better numbers across the board. Passed him in tds and passer rating and yards.

I don’t remember Mitch being that good. Like I watch Caleb and it’s a different vibe
Tbf, Mitch had Nagy firing on all cylinders before he went full stupid after the double doink.
Kinda makes sense, since that would overlap with the Tampa game where Mitch had like 400 yards and 6 Tuddies.

Is someone doing a bit here, given that Caleb has started 22 games?

Delete this!!!!!
For those curious, these are the stats through 22 starts, with Justin Fields thrown in for the hell of it.

Mitch played on a much better Bears team.
