The Skyatas as my auntie calls it. Uh will miss the first season opener in his record 23 season NBA career will likely be sidelined for at least the Lakers first 10 games. Yeah. Yeah. the two year Lakers Lakers training year three to four weeks in Lakers talking you might not see LeBron till 2027 just you know we still waiting to see what done that but missing his first season opener in his career appeared in 22 straight will miss this one second team all NBA last season top six in MVP voting on an expiring contract for the first time in his career uh but does hold some leverage with the no trade clause after opting into the final year of his deal after he opted in his agent Rich Paul uh through had a message said Braun wanted to let it be known he still wants to be on a winning team and we’ll be monitoring the Lakers and evaluating what’s best for him at this stage of his career. Wait, that was a real quote. That wasn’t a fake quote. Rick, that’s what he but that was that was after he opted in back in the summer. I think it’s been it’s reemerged on social media remmon monitoring. That’s what he sit back in. But he did say we understand there two timelines there. There’s the Luca timeline obviously for the future, but what about the win now timeline? Oh, that wasn’t a scent tail. Oh, that was a central. That was central. It’s it’s however easy LeBron wants to make it because at this point he’s the one on the outside, right? He’s he’s 41, right? The fact that you’re still playing this long is, you know, we, you know, we do have to give it up to you, but at the end of the day, you got one, two, three more years. So, it’s it’s his it’s his team and you got to fit in where you’re getting. So, I mean, if you want to make it hard, cool. But at the end of the day, he’s still going to be here, right? No matter how you look at it, Luca is going to be here. We know you’re not in the next three years. You’re going to be retired. So, if you want to make it easy and and and let’s try to win or you can you can be disgruntled and say, “Hey, man, you know, I don’t like the way I don’t think we can win. Give me a trade. Trade out.” Either way, there’s going to be 77 is going to be in that purple and gold and and and that’s just that’s just the facts of it. And you know, um we would love to see them try to win together. And you know, if he’s going to try to win that next championship that he’s searching for, if he’s searching for, you know, having someone like Luca will make it easier for him because you have somebody who is flirting with a triple double when he plays. Um, it’s like he he is you with a better skill set of scoring and passing the ball, right? He doesn’t have the athleticism of LeBron James, but it’s it’s two LeBron Jameses. It’s it’s a very athletic one and a very skilled one. So, you putting them both together like play off of each other and and actually go try to win, right? We didn’t have all the pieces right now, but you stay one more year. Hey, maybe we can get one next year, right? And and the fact that he didn’t take a pay cut and then we look at the free agency this year. Nah, I wouldn’t have took a pay cut either. Wise decision. There was nobody. There was nobody. There was nobody here to pay. You think he could handle not having that power no more though? That’s for having that power and being able to leverage anything you want over your whole career and now just cut off like that. Like I mean this should be it should. But can you handle that? Whether it was going to third or going to fifth or sixth or even getting out of the playin, we knew that the Lakers with LeBron locked in, we going to do this. not being ready for the season opener, not being locked in with Luca, DeAndre Aiden comes in, whether you’re locked in with Austin Reeves or not, like the team don’t have no cohesiveness right now. And you were more locked in with JJ when he wasn’t the [ __ ] coach when you was on the podcast than you are now that he is the coach and trying to figure out why JJ is saying, “Man, I got to accept guys where they are. You know, I can’t expect guys to come in and have the Kobe mindset. Is that what JJ said? I don’t know.
