  1. “another opportunity,” they’re talking about it like he was fired when he wasn’t

  2. Why does a person who “retired” need another opportunity? I’m getting the feeling that this may not have been all on Shildt.

  3. Would analytics help Padres score vs Cubs? They were awful. Last time I checked a computer never got a hit!

  4. Six managers in 10 years, Preller still survives… even other GMs in baseball can’t deal with him.
He has a great eye for talent. After that it’s a train wreck… what would that club look like if they wouldn’t have made the trade for Soto. He sure traded a TON of talent away this summer to try and win a division. Good baseball people have had that managerial job without Preller being held accountable for questionable front office moves in beyond acceptable as of TODAY

  5. seems like to me the pressure in San Diego is real and AJ is not easy to work for.

Honestly AJ should jump in the dugout and try it himself next year.

  6. Shocked to hear this messaging. Wtf. I m ok to take he is stressed it kinda sick not willing to accept he was fired…. But this take by Jake…
