  1. You never punt games in a series… however Kirby starting the 5th kinda felt like a saving the pen type of thing.

  2. If this series didn’t have any days off, the Mariners sweep it. I think we see a series that’s a lot closer than the first 2 games let on.

  3. Mariners fans have every single reason to doom, and will, but I choose to look at positives from last night.

    * Randy homered
    * Cal homered
    * Julio homered
    * Geno had a terrific 10-pitch k
    * Harry Ford got his first hit in the playoffs
    * We got to a **little bit** of their pen
    * We didn’t use any of our leverage guys

  4. Speaking from experience, a hot Vlad is not a good sign for the Mariners

    They better hope this doesn’t carry over

  5. I wonder how (and if) the Mariners will break out of their home offensive slump, because you can’t be scoring only 3-4 runs a game on your own turf and expect to win many ballgames even if your pitching staff is as good as they are, and especially for a team as reliant on the home run ball as the M’s are. Obviously I don’t see hitters overhauling their swing mechanics or whatever, but what adjustments or tweaks should they be making? Clearly a bit of lineup shuffling should be in order, too.

  6. I get the doom and gloom coming from Seattle, that was a tough loss. Game 2 in Toronto was a similarly tough loss for the Blue Jays and they bounced back and did this. Nobody is out of the series yet.

  7. At the end of the first inning a lot of blue jays fans were posting “it’s over” and “gg Seattle”

    I did not see any expirations or conditions on those comments

    Therefore I would like to retroactively accept your surrender. Uhhh gg as well. Good luck next year. We’re on to the World Series

  8. It’s not even fair – Jays lose games 1 & 2 at home but they get to redeem themselves at their other home?

  9. Both Jays and Mariners are the biggest domers in baseball. Ill admit as a Jays fan I was convinced season was over after it was 2-0 yesterday and now Mariners are being doomers even though they are up in the series.

  10. I went into games 3-5 with the thought of it being a 3 game series at home. If we win the series, we’re in. How many times this season did we drop game one of the series and then win the series after taking the final 2? I seem to remember that happening OFTEN. I have absolute belief and confidence that we can do that again here

  11. So what you’re saying is another 15 inning game 5 in Seattle is on the table for the second weekend in a row?

  12. Nothing in this series has really gone as expected. I should have come to expect that as an Ms fan, but it’s hard to expect the unexpected. So, I suppose I will just continue to expect disappointment and hope for the best.

  13. There is a part of me that wants this to go to seven games solely to see what the Jays and Mariners graphic departments come up with for that Game 7
