I haven’t looked closely enough at his run snaps to see how effective he is at setting the edge or getting off run blocks. He’s still got plenty of time to grow into a complete player.

Totally agree so far, it’s very important to the fans and org to take a jump now, not wait another year to slow build, and I find it hard to believe we’d find better value than JPJ, even at pick 8-15 which I thought we’d end up at before the year.
If you haven’t heard we actually gave up our first round pick and mortgaged our future on him /s… thank you for clarifying how even the trade actually was lol
And the Third rounder in question was Watts 😎. Absolutely worth.
I couldn’t be angry at the time of the trade despite what we paid simply because I was in disbelief we used 2 first round picks on pass rushers
I still don’t love it because I feel our pick will still land top ten and if you have this much conviction in a player that you are willing to trade a potential top ten pick, I feel like he should be able to be on the field every snap.
At this point, he’s a niche pass rusher who is not capable of full time responsibilities. That to me is not worth the cost.
I hope by seasons end he is a more well rounded player.
I concur, the only way this bites us in the ass is if that pick is in the top half of the draft, but if we get into the playoffs it’s a brilliant trade.
Wow it’s like using our first round next year to get a projected first round this year, and trading back in the 3rd and getting disgusting trade value from picking up Watts was a GOOD thing?
