John Harbaugh’s Top Priority for Ravens’ Offensive Fixes | Baltimore Ravens Final Drive

[Music] [Applause] The Ravens dropped to 1 and5 on Sunday after a 17-3 loss to the LA Rams. It’s now the bye-week and the Ravens are taking a hard look at themselves to determine what changes they need to make to come out of this by strong to stop their current skid and to get this season moving in the right direction. Offensively, a point of focus is going to be short yardage situations. The Ravens just haven’t been good enough this year at the goal line or in third and one, fourth and one type of situations. It hurt them yesterday in key moments in that game, particularly with that goal line sequence right before the half where the Ravens came up empty. The Ravens have all the ingredients on this team to be really good in those situations. And head coach John Harbaugh talked today about really needing to improve in that area. Obviously, the biggest change is we’re not effective. I mean it’s just it’s been it’s been ineffective basically and that’s been I’d have to say it’s been surprising you know we have not been able to punch the ball in which last year we were able to do it. So we’re looking at every aspect of it uh scheme uh keeping people more off balance uh effectively running a quarterback sneak which was really disappointing. You know we we’ve had we’ve had a couple situations this year where we took the ball off the line of scrimmage down there and didn’t get in. So sometimes you say keep it simple and sneak it in, you know, and but they were loaded up for it, but you still should be able to push it in there. Uh, and then not not executing the play for the front that we wanted and just not executing it the way we didn’t block it very very completely well. So, uh, all those things and I think that’s pretty much been the situation all the way through. If you look at all the all the, uh, situations where we didn’t get in down there from the one or two yard line, it’s been basically the same. So, we got to work on that really hard. I mean, that’s like the number one thing uh in my mind on offense is short yardage and goal line. We should be better. We should be way better, way better than we are. I mean, we’ve been we’ve never struggled in those areas. And uh and I don’t really understand why we are. I mean, I do I look at the plays, but you want to step back and say, why is this happening? We’re just not getting the job done, you know? So, uh, if we want to be the kind of team that we have, we want, if we want to have a chance, we got to get that fixed. I mean, that should have been fixed. We’ve been talking about fixing it for weeks, and we’ve been trying to fix it for weeks, but we haven’t done a good job. Now, Coach Harbaugh covered a lot of ground today in his press conference, including injury updates on key players and other areas of focus for this team at the bye-week. You can watch that press conference in its entirety on our app, our website, and on our YouTube channel. That’s it for me on Final Drive. Thanks for watching. We’ll see you again tomorrow. The Ravens need to improve in short-yardage and goal-to-go situations during the bye.

  1. Here we go again. HARBS got to go. How about this non pressure DEFENSE. Ravens always been a defensive team. Stop worrying about the offense. We won Super Bowls with DEFENSE. The GM and coaches can't see it's the trenches with the problems. 😡

  2. Might as well tank the rest of the season so we could get some solid pieces at O Line and pass rush. Secondary has been a disappointment too so we might have to trade or grab something there too. I wish we got Jalen Ramsey over Jaire.

  3. I’m telling yall. Monken is a much larger issue than many realize. We can talk about D but or D is on the field the MOST on the NFL because our O is last in TOP! From top 3-5 last year to dead last. How does a team whose built to run and keep the clock running manage to do this? The play caller. This LJ injury is exposing his predictability and lack of creativity more than ever. The last time he called a complete game was vs PIT in the playoffs and the ONE team who knows us best had 0 answers. Then he followed that up with a complete abort of plan vs BUF because he thinks being down 1-2 scores is panic time.

  4. @2:05. He doesn't understand why .. okay let's get someone in there who can figure it out…

I mean seriously this guy tells you every single week he has no idea what's going on.

The ownership wants to see him ride Lamar's coattails to another SB to match Ray but it's simply not going to happen..

The players have QUIT on this team and rightfully so.. they see the chatter on Twitter.. they see HC getting fired and the resentment and confusion as to why Harbaugh is still here will only grow.

Imo Harbaugh wants Lamar to get hurt so he can feel better about his shortcomings this year..just to have someone to blame..

It doesn't matter who the DC or the OC is or how many trades you make the Ravens with and have NEVER been at their best with this guy in charge. We'd have more SBs without him and that's the truth

  5. I'd like to be optimistic for the Ravens future. So I think we can all agree this season might not be our year. So I'd like to perceive this year as a wake up call and it will really allow us to take a good look at ourselves to make meaningful changes. Just look at us. It's pathetic. Every year it's the same thing. Enough is enough..

  6. Brahhhh fix the Oline get help on the Dline and give Keaton Mitchell more snaps WTH it’s just that simple stop with this we have the talent because we don’t

  7. Without Lamar, the coaches not good enough to fix it, they proved that already. You have no solutions, Just say “I Need Lamar”. We not stupid 😂

  8. Sorry -> I wont watch any games, and wont buy any merch until Harbs is gone!!! I feel sorry for LJ getting trashed with that Oline. Man we suck so bad

  9. 1% chance of making the playoffs. And even if we magically do, none if the 4 teams that did it made it past round 1. That's not a challenge to overcome. Its a horrifying stat that shows people need to be fired immediately. Especially with Oweh having his best game all season as soon as the man got traded.

  10. How can yall keep blaming Monken for why the offense can’t get going with our garbage head coach keeps on putting offensive players that we need to be playing on the not active list. He’s playing people he wants too
