Warsofsky Likes Sharks’ Maturity, Despite Unbelievable Loss
Coach, obviously um you know a tough way to lose, but what did you think of of the team’s effort just in the performance overall tonight? Yeah, I liked our game. Uh we were skating, played with good structure for the most part. You know, obviously a couple things we got to clean up, but I liked our g our game. Our guys competed. Uh we like I said, we skated. I like a lot of things we did. What did you see? What did you see on those last two goals? The one at the end of the third period and then in overtime. Yeah, we’ll get a chance to score, right? six on five and um usually when that happens it’s coming back at you. So um you know it comes out there and it takes like a a funky bounce goes in the back. Something you don’t see very often. Um and similar you know the threeon three we’re just out there too long. Um that’s totally not on we’re out there too long. We don’t mis we mismanage the puck and then what good teams do is they score. Did you like how you guys played in the third period up to that that goal? Yeah, we showed some some maturity. That was a big positive out of it. Even our bench guys were saying the right things. We were putting pucks behind them for the most part and it got better. I actually thought it got better as we, you know, when we first got the lead, it was a little loose through the neutral zone and then we got better. Um, there was really nothing going on until really that six on five. You guys are hoping for more results this year. A good performance up until the end, but the result isn’t there. How do you balance feeling like you played well, pushing for those results still? Yeah, we we could have still stick to our process here and um again, we played a solid hockey game. Our guys will learn from it. We’ll move on. We’ll pick up the pieces. Um and we’ll go at it tomorrow. What did you think of just some the lines looked like you were able to kind of roll lines really well. Did you feel like it was a pretty balanced lineup for you and effectively getting the match ups you wanted? Yeah, I liked uh liked our matches. Um I thought Deli played good in that in that role there when he was good in his line. you know, I you know, God’s good depth there and his line gave us some energy off the start, so I liked um you know, I liked our lines going there. What can you say about your new uh defenseman? Previous years maybe you’ve you had guys who could defend but maybe didn’t move the puck so well and vice versa, but now though, Ley, Clingberg seem to do both well. So, can you talk about their performances, what they added to your team? Yeah, they add puck moving ability. Um, their experience really helps in crucial situations and momentum swings. Um, you know, I thought those guys were solid solid tonight. Was that the most improbable loss you’ve been involved in? You had a situation where you could have sealed it in an open goal and it goes from that to an equalizer. So, is that the most improbable scenario you have ever had? Yeah, just probably the way it has gone in. Um, but that is life and we got to move forward. Um, you know, things happen for whatever reasons. Um, it was a bounce and we got to pick up Ned, pick up each other and and get at it again tomorrow. Shake today. Who’s that? Shaka. Shaq was good. Uh, did some good things playing his off sides. He’s got to get used to it again. Um, you know, he’s got to keep his stick down the minors. So, he was good. Kersev and Skinner get on the scoreboard. New guys coming to new teams. Just importance of the new guys getting off to good starts here for you guys. Yeah, it always helps. there. Those guys have been around and had scored, you know, all levels. So, if we can keep, you know, our depth scoring going, that’s going to help our team in the long run. Coach, I know it’s only one game, but do you think we have a difference between this year and last year? Is that with the veterans you guys do have? It’ll be a little bit easier to get over this one. Yeah, I think so. You know, I think so. We got a veteran group in there. Guys are going to pick up the pieces, so we’re not too concerned. What’s the biggest thing that needs to be cleaned up for the next game? Um, you know, I think bearing down in certain situations throughout the game, you know, the wall play, we’ll look at the video and there’s some breakout execution that we got to continue to work on uh to get everyone on the same page and and get more connected. But, um, again, you know, nine times out of 10, I’ll take that effort and that compete. Um, you know, we’ll start putting some more in the back of the net and playing a little bit more on the attack. You know, with that power play, we can we snap back a little bit on that. So, there’s some things we can work on. Ferraro went in and saw Ned a after the third period bounce. And we talked about earlier this week about knowing when to pick guys up and lift him up. Is this a good moment for your guys to go and get Ned and lift him up in this moment? Yeah, of course we’re going to need Ned. We’re going to need him. You know, you need two goalies in this league. He’s a really good goalie. Um we’re going to pick him up. He’s going to be just fine. Uh he’ll work on his game tomorrow with Spearsy and you know, we’ll give him a big hug and we’ll move forward. What did you think of the fan atmosphere today? It was awesome. Great great energy in the building. Uh from puck drop right to the end. Uh stinks we couldn’t get him a win. What do you thought of the face off tonight? That seemed like one of the areas. Yeah. Yeah. Delhi was good. Winning was just okay. Um Max obviously is going to continue to work on it. Tough match up. Tommy Hurdle, you guys know he’s gets wide base. He’s strong. Eel, you know, that’s some of the best centers in the game. So, uh we’ll look at it and get better at What did you think of the penalty kill tonight? Looked like they had a couple, you know, they gave one, but like for the most part like it hurt you guys. You guys Yeah, I didn’t give much. Uh, you know, besides the one goal, which we, you know, we did know, he had a hat-tick the other night. So, um, if you guys didn’t know, we did pre-scout that. Uh, we just didn’t execute. How long does it take you to get over a game like this? Saturday, maybe.

Send Ned to ECHL
Really really appreciate you pointing the mic at the questioners! Being able to hear the questions clearly is a game changer.
Hey we out played a team a lot have chose as cup winners really well. Just had really bad luck at the end
Very frustrating lost. Goalie needs to go 100% not hesitate like he did this lost is on him he should be sent down immediately
That’s the gamble you take with a puck playing goalie. Take the lessons learned and implement them into the next game. On to Anaheim
That’s the word that came to mind for me last night too: mature. We looked like a veteran team and outplayed Vegas for 99% of the game
Was hoping for not too somber of a tone from Warsofsky, and I think he nailed it. Perfect tone, perfect messaging. It's just one game and hell, we looked like a decent hockey team. Can't wait for Saturday night.
Great game sharks 🦈 that was awesome 👏🏼 Vegas are built with luck you had them beat … i respect that effort you all put together.. on to the next you win as a team and lose as a team.. go sharks 🦈 so far keep it up 👍
As long as we not planning to lose the next 9, like last season, the year before that. We learn from the mistake, protect our goalie when he makes a mistake like that. It rarely happens that goalies leave the crease that far, but it happens. Be ready to defend our net quickly next time, thats all.
