I mean sort of, but we also won the NLDS, and that’s at least an improvement over the past several years of going and losing immediately in whatever series we find ourselves in.
Maybe I’m being a brightsider but I’m at least somewhat happy and proud of that, AND because it was over the cubs
I didn’t see no bell
It’s a conspiracy I tell you. When was the last time a small market team won the world series, hmmm?
Hitters look like deer in headlights
I don’t think it’s entirely fair to judge the offense based on their performance against 3 (4 as of tomorrow) pitchers who are HOF talents
Almost every team says this about their guys, because you go up against the top pitchers for the best teams in the playoffs. But it’s been definite bad approaches from a few of the guys. I had to just shrug at Snell- he was unhittable. Yamamoto, that was a bit more our doing. Tonight, yikes. Teams have figured out Yeli and Frelick, Turang just isn’t making good choices, and outside of Chourio, Durbin, and Bauers, nobody else is picking up the slack.
At least it wasn’t against the cubs
I mean… The team exists for the purpose of providing summer entertainment. The principal owner has said as much. Anything meaningful beyond July/August is gravy.
The fact of the matter is that it is exceedingly expensive to field a team of favorites and even when you do that, you’re not guaranteed victory. For example, the Cubs outspent the brewers pretty significantly and we see how that ended.
The MLB is not a league interested in parity. Small market teams will occasionally luck into a handful of great young players that stay healthy and deliver a WD win, but they get stripped immediately after. The brewers do a pretty great job of maintaining a strong farm system such that they almost always have a reasonably competitive team.
All that said, still a great team and it’s easy to love Murph. I hope he stays around.
Over the past 2 games at home, I’ve read plenty comments heaping praises on both Snell and Yamamoto’s respective starts–how those 2 unquestionably great pitchers pitched out of their freakin minds and how unlikely it is for them to repeat those performances.
I’m currently still waiting to read about how awesome Glasnow and the dodgers’ pen were during this game. Someone kindly make me feel slightly better about our stinkin bats/offense, please
Bats in a fucking coma…
Man I wish we could flip it and go 4-0 to finish the series but 1) we beat the cubs lol and 2) it was a really fun summer watching and listening to these guys play 🙂

Watching your pathetic franchise fail in the postseason over and over is so much fun! FUCK THE BREWERS AND RACIST ASS WISCONSIN!!
It’s all about getting hot at the right time. I look back at the 2023 DBacks, who only won 84 games and were the 6 seed, but went on a tear in the postseason. They swept us, swept the Dodgers, and beat the Phillies despite not having home field advantage in any series. Timely hitting and great pitching. I don’t think the pitching has let us down, but the bats have gone ice cold.
The Dodgers are also a very different team this year. They are completely stacked after going on a spending spree this past offseason. Chances are they’re going to have deep postseason runs every year now. Very few teams are going to be able to truly compete with them in the long run.
Always will be.
Almost as if the Brewers can’t hit actually good pitching. Gonna be the same thing every single year. Team is shit when the lights are bright and the games matter most.
Could join the 04 RSox to come back from 0-3 to win the series.
Likelihood of that happening is slim, but not 0.
As we have the pitching staff to lead us to a World Series, is there any chance at all of management going all in this offseason on offense? Or is it that the money isn’t there to compete?
For the last 6 weeks of the regular season in mid August or about the last 1/4 of the regular season.
The Dodgers have had the 3rd best record in MLB at 25-16. Brewers during this time period to end the season finished at 21-21 which ranked 17th and was the 2nd worst finish in the last 1.5 months for the 6 teams who made the NL postseason.
If we compare how each team’s offense was performing the last 1.5 months to end the regular season and where they ranked in the entire league.
**Runs scored per game**
* Dodgers – 4.9 (7th)
* Brewers – 4.4 (24th)
**Home runs**
* Dodgers – 64 (5th)
* Brewers – 39 (25th)
**OPS**
* Dodgers – .754 (7th)
* Brewers – .730 (24th)
**ISO %**
* Dodgers – .194 (5th)
* Brewers – .141 (25th)
If we look at the pitching side of things :
**xERA**
* Dodgers – 3.06 (1st)
* Brewers – 3.50 (3rd)
**xFIP**
* Dodgers – 3.51 (2nd)
* Brewers – 4.00 (16th)
**K per 9 IP**
* Dodgers – 10.5 (1st)
* Brewers – 9.5 (5th)
Brewers as a team were trending downwards or had already peaked especially offensively. As after they won 14 games in a row as they were 2 games under .500 after that long win streak in their last 40 games
While the Dodgers got healthy and were hitting their stride to finish up the regular season.
They’re not that drunk. They’re not that drunk. Go Crew!!
29 teams every year don’t win it all. Brewers are young, well coached, and have some team friendly contracts. Making the playoffs consistently puts you in the running to actually make it happen, all it takes is getting hot at the right time.
No one said winning a World Series is easy. Dodgers are a flat out better team, I mean look at that lineup! Still impressive to have the season the Brewers had and maybe next year luck will be on their side.
