I was afraid the World Series was going to be unbearable to watch.
If I’m honest, I’m not even going to be upset if the Mariners make it to the Series and win it all. When this team is as bad as it is for as long as it is, it’s hard to feel like anyone is truly a rival anymore.
If the Mariners win it all this year, that would mean three of the last four World Series were won by a team from the AL West.
In those seasons, our win percentage has been .444, .451, and .451.
The Mariners, Rangers, Astros, and A’s aren’t our rivals; Arte is our rival. He’s the one we’re struggling to overcome. The rest of them, they’re all playing a different game. They go into the season thinking they may have a chance of making the playoffs, making a run, maybe even winning it all. We’re just not fucking *close* to that. We may as well be upset at who wins the Super Bowl, because we’re about as close to winning that as we are the World Series right now.
I want the Mariners to win it all.
Honestly the only team I hate in our division is the Astros. I don’t care if the Mariners do well.
I thought the Brewers were going to be a tough, scrappy team that would give the Dodgers a hard time. They are completely flat.
