NHL Highlights | Oilers vs. Islanders | October 16, 2025
Riddick played 34 times for the Kings last year.
A free agent signed here with the Islanders. He’s seen the Oilers plenty from his days in Calgary.
TJ Luxmore, Mike Sullivan are the referee. Steve Barton and CJ Murray will work the line who
surprisingly is still looking for his first point of the season. The offensive mind of
defense Barzel for turnover backhand shot hit the post. Unbelievable opportunity. Kyle Palary
just rang the post here. Schaer makes the move. Little dangle at the line. Hit by Bousard. Bousard
had his stick lifted. What a move. Shot saved. Unbelievable chance for Jonathan Druad. Turned
right over to Pou. Here’s Romanov. Close one. Missed the one. There’s Lee for Pou. Romanov.
Spins it across from Mayfield. Close one. All in front was Anders Lee. And he couldn’t beat
Skinner. Spun back the other way. Ross Levitic now have found some legs and some life here
drops fancy move dry side another backhand pass that shot is starting the opportunity and
it’s D’Angelo shoots in softly in terms of action here’s D’Angelo shooting opportunity
glove save Skinner oh shan turned it Right off goal. Rick had to be ready. Oh, look out. There’s Bard turned
it over again. Here’s Barcelon. And this time Bard one nothing Islanders.
The Islanders have only led for 90 seconds in a game till now. What a dreadful turnover
by Bousard. There’s no urgency in this game. This is the Achilles heel of Evan Bousard. He
always thinks he’s got more time, but you don’t. The first turnover hit the goal post and went
wide. Islanders can’t clear. McDavid will hold the zone. Try a little chased to the corner. He’s
got a lane in the front if he wanted it in front shot. Still in the clean swam board and somehow
David Rick at least for a couple more weeks. Tomasic is stuck around on the first line. First
power play and looking for his first NHL goal set. And that’s how easy the Oilers can make it
look. And after all Edmonton’s struggles the entire first period, we’re all even at one
a piece. They’ve given up four power play goals in 12 chances. Now the face off win and
the dry side connect and Dry Cidle gets the puck deep into his feet. Man, that’s a good
shot because his stick, it’s a long stick. It gets tight into his feet and yet he’s
able to still quickly beat D. Here’s Dlard all over him. Oh, Mary couldn’t handle
turnover in here. DL score stick handling in a phone booth and somehow Skinner with
the right pad kept it out in this period. He doesn’t see Duclair right behind him. Duclair
Unbelievable or the usual rush of Conor McDash got it back behind the net now goes to the front
of the net and McDavid put it there down low for McDavid. He’s got the big boys out here together
offensive face off. Mayfield flip it and just gets it away. Here’s Horvat on a break. Step on
the short back hand and Skinner steers it aside. He’s one of those guys signed a
long extension in the offseason. Eight years for Romanov. I
like his game. This replica speaking. He was so dominant really in the
first three games. Surely raised the bar. You expect so much. I think the Oilers have
done a good job against Schaffer so far here tonight. Turnover shot. Snow. Nan Hopkins blasts
one through Riddick. And just like that, despite the Islanders dominance in the first period, New
York finds itself now trailing two to one. At 1-1, the Islanders turn the puck over in the middle
of the ice. And that’s a really nice pick up across to Nen Hopkins. Emerson fires the puck
across and Nen Hopkins again like Barcel and they both played at the Bernabby Winter Club
in Vancouver growing up to score 193 quick upon backhand feed shot stopped. What a save there
by Skinner. Get 2-1 and a wide open net for Bull Horvath. You made one mistake and it’s in your
net. Tuclair swings it across. Here’s Schaefer. Lets it go. Blocked out the fence. Left hand saved
by Skinner on the Islanders alltime goalc scoring list. Wake currently ranks 29th in goals scored
in New York Islanders history. He’s only here four and a half years. 29. Trevor got a whack
at it. Couldn’t do anything with it. Islanders come to it. Po. Some of the crowd wanted a call.
Won’t get one there. Daddle got it across. Here’s McDavid for Nuan Hopkins takes it up the cross
and Didle is stopped. Riddick got across. Bousard threatened the bomb. Lets it go for McDavid.
Makes the move on Horvath. Got him through for Dry. A one touch right back shot missed and
off the side. Renick had to be very careful. Tricky shot there by McDavid. Trying to catch him
going across short-handed. Here’s Horvette and he shoots a stop. ball for short-handed goal for the
Islanders. And New York is tied the game at two will get to the puck. Look at Evan Bush standing
on the boards. I got to say for a really good player, this is about as bad at two periods I’ve
seen an NHL player play. And the complexion of this game changes once again. 50 seconds left. New
Orleans power play. McDavid gets to it. Centers in front. That’s blocked out. Here’s McDavid. That
shot is blocked and never got a shot away. Blocked out of the defense by Nurse. Racing back the
McDavid. Got a step McDavid. Oh, what a save by Reick. Reick stops McDavid. McDavid’s going to get
this step on Adam Pel. I mean, that’s not a fair. The Oilers or the Islanders win the draw again.
Now they can attack. Here’s a Barcel scoranded and a power play goal. 7 seconds into the man
advantage. 32 Islanders. I mentioned on the first power play, one of the great spots for Bo
Harvat is in the bumper spot on the pass from Barcel cuz he can really shoot it. Horvat’s
got a real heavy hand. When he gets the puck, he leans on it quickly. Barzel’s pass is right
on the tea. He feathers it over Henrik Henrik’s stick. It lands flat and it’s in the net.
Remember the problems earlier leaves that the Islanders had on the power play. They
couldn’t get set up. That’s cuz they had to break. Big guys have been on the ice forever.
They got to be exhausted. 22 seconds left. Gets to it for New York. Another chance. It’s
a twoon with the empty net. Here’s Truan. Got it across. Has the hat trick and the Islanders
are going to get their first win of the season. Timer and then an unselfish
play into the Islanders end. Final seconds tick away.

poochard with peak performance once again
Bouchard is the worst defender in the nhl
Take this guy out man
Oilers didnt celebrate goals like other team, hugging men many old players miss
I counted 5 Bouch Blunders, how many did you see?
20 million for nurse and Bouchard…
Get rid of: Skinner, Nurse, Bouchard
Bouchard should be wearing an Islander jersey!!! He gift wrapped 2 goals for them!.
ahh i had to see bouch cough the puck up like he does… classic :/
N.Y Islanders greatest dynasty in the history of professional sports 4 consecutive stanley cup championships 5 consecutive stanley cup finals appearances 19 consecutive playoff series wins. A unbelievable accomplishment and true role models .We should all strive to reach the level of excellence in our respective profession as the N.Y Islanders.
😭😭😭 Imagine the way Skinner looking at Bouchard since the one time he could say it’s not his entire fault 😭😭😂💀💀😂😭
The battle of blue and orange
Bouchard is an embarrassment, his blunder destroy all momentum.
Is there ever a breakaway and Stu Skinner makes the big save? Or is it always a sure goal? It's not often he makes the big breakaway save. In fact he was 0-2 for breakaways tonight. Just lit up like las Vegas strip. Bouchard's terrible at D but yet is a defenceman? I'm thinking he should just start playing wing he may get more goals? Regardless of coughing up the puck 🏒 there team did and there goalie shuts the door on McDavid. Stop some pucks please Stu. Or save 1 of the 2 breakaways. Not let in both.
Skinner deserved that win, the bums let him down….what was Savoie doing on that PK, what was he thinking? What was Bouchard thinking? Where is Paul Coffey the defense is not clicking.
even the broadcasters are commenting on what a terrible NHL game for Bouchard! He needs to be sat out !! He will lose more games again this year ! 🫣
Mr. Boochard, needs to ' REALIZE,…HE IS NOT VERY GIFTED, GOOD AT OFFENSE . Smell the smelling salts, sonny : Your Not McDavid, nor anyone else. o well….so goes another year of this…..let us resume…video…
? ASSets, or ' Liabilities '…..no ability – too much self – confidence, NOT ENOUGH SKATING….and stick handling…/ He is not an offensively – minded kinda guy : not his fault, but he MUST realize, that First, before even ' stepping onto thee ice ''. / Play within yer abilities…..what/ where ever ' they ? ' are……we're not sure, as casual Observers. Good luck, rest of Oil team…..deal with it .
Bouchard = total disgrace!
Hymans Tore fehlen den Oilers, bringe Regula und tausche Bouchard !!
Skinner was actually lookin good and bouch just hung him out to dry
I get the idea of Bouchard as an offensive D; they should let him play with 4 D's to compensate.
Sooo I’m losing faith in knob bouch should of been benched and never played another shift!! Why is Howard still in the line up and why is Noah still sitting on the bench also Connor when are you going to shoot the puck more like you said ??
Does fu* kn skinner can save any game
Lol Ferarro just blasting Bouchard like I havent heard any in-game commentator blast a player before. 😂
C'est terrible, un défenseur ça priorité c'est de défendre… Le pauvre Skinner il ne peut pas tout le temps rattraper les boulettes de Bouchard…
