QB Tua Tagovailoa meets with the media after #LACvsMIA | Miami Dolphins
How would you describe your emotions? Uh uh shocked. Shocked. I I guess you you could say just this this is something that we’ve talked about collectively as a team about being able to finish in in games like this where we have the opportunity to win the game. Um and it’s not just one side of the ball. It’s every phase I’ve contributed with the turnovers. Um you know, we had some missed opportunities in in teams. Then we had some missed opportunities on defense as well. But for us to go out there, have an opportunity to seal the game, and then, you know, we we don’t allow that to happen either way. Last week, Carolina offense, this week, you know, you can look at it however you want. That that’s just like that’s that’s just not the way we we want to play football and establish what we’ve been talking about throughout OTAA’s training camp and even in our meetings, like our leadership meetings. Like, it it’s frustrating, uh, to say the least. So, what has what has been the and you mentioned some of it, the inability of this team to just play complimentary football where one side does well then the special team lets up the big return. Just so many things when one thing goes well go bad. Pardon? So, no, I said what has been what has been the issue there? The inability to play complimentary football as a team. Well, I think there’s a lot of things that go into it. Adjustments on the other side of the ball if you’re on defense, vice versa for offense. And then now we got to make adjustments if we’re not able to convert our third downs and continue the the flow for ourselves offensively and defensively. And then with teams, you know, they they got to go out there and they got to do what they do knowing who who they got, knowing what rush lanes they’re in, all all of that. So I would say it’s just adjustments. Like you got to continue to adjust throughout the game and that’s that’s the name of the game as we play it. So what was the uh the difference third quarter the two the two possessions minus 11 yards or something the fourth quarter two you had you had a score you did it twice what what sparked in the fourth quarter what was the difference um I think just settling down with with with the guys kind of finding the flow get a completion run the ball stay ahead of the chains third and manageable convert on our third downs and then continue to play uh normal football first interception Jill Wadd last one, you know, that’s just a last second um hope. But uh what happened on that second one? The one in between? On the second one, that was just a bad ball. Um just bad ball. Bad ball that I that I threw to to Von. And on that first one, was there a little bit of a hesitation a pump there to uh Wadd? Yeah. Just as I’m dropping back trying to see what Zero wants to do, but you know, me and Zero aren’t the tallest guys out there. So with when you got three pillars standing in between us, I got to find out if he’s staying there looking at me, looking out at Jaylen, or if he’s pushing the coverage, then when I verified that he was pushing this way cuz he turned, then I came back to jail. Tua, last week you said this feeling sucks. Today you’re saying it’s shock. You know, where does the team go from here now that you guys are one and five on the season? Well, the only way we can go the only place we can go is is next week. you know, we we talk about figuring this out. We talk about getting it together collectively. What like what are what are the problems? What are the issues? And are they getting fixed? Are they not getting fixed? Why are they not getting fixed? Or if they’re fixed, how are we how are we not allowing it to happen again? Things of that nature. So, we got to look at the film again. We got to see where we can go. I contributed to a lot of that as well with the three turnovers. Uh you can’t do that. and expect to win games. But, you know, we we all got to look at ourselves, not pointing fingers. We got to look at ourselves individually first about what I could have done to to help our team win that game and then we can come together and we can talk about all right, we need this group to do this better or or whatever. But, uh that’s why I say it’s it’s frustrating. So, what was Mike’s message to you guys collectively as a team here in Locker Map this? We got to continue to stay together. everyone’s going to want to say what they want to say, but we could we got to continue to stay together. And Jordan Jordan Brooks um shared a Bible verse with us as well. And I thought it was it was it was super dope um about a brother being born for adversity where we’re in adversity right now. He was talking about like this is what this is about. Although we can’t see the picture of what God’s plan is for us as a football team, where we’re at right now, we continue to be grateful for for for where we’re at, but not content. You know, grateful, but not content. We got to continue to strive to to get better and, you know, do things a different way. It has to be different. It has to be different. Can’t can’t do the same things expecting that, all right, we’re going to get a different result. Darren Waller scored his fourth touchdown in three games. just can you talk about what he’s meant to you and this offense? He’s a baller. Dwall, he he’s he’s a baller. The ball finds him every time in the end zone and uh the relationship I have with him is the relationship I have with with a lot of the guys. It’s just the connection. He’s just so much bigger and allows, you know, for me to see see him a lot earlier in my peripheral whereas I got to kind of look at guys then confirm areas for them. So, uh, with Dwall, he’s he’s just a ball hawk, you know, finds the ball in the end zone. You threw that down to him. 46 seconds left. Did you think you had done it or did you look up at the clock, the guy was on the other side and think, you know, there’s a shot here. No, it’s the it’s the NFL. You know, the only thing my my job there was was to score literally. If not, we would have lost the game. After that, cheering on the defense, cheering on the the special teams guys to go out there. It’s the NFL. anything can happen. Even at that 5-second mark, if we did get a completion and we were able to do whatever the Miami miracle is that happened, you know, that would that would have been sweet. But anything can happen in the league. So, I wouldn’t say that anytime we score with a minute or 30 seconds or 20 seconds left that it’s necessarily over, you know, because you you got to keep playing until it’s it hits zero. to on that. Do you think with Mike moving forward, you guys have conversations like, “Hey, maybe we try to score with 15 seconds left, get a little run play in just to manage that clock a little bit better, or how do you work that?” Well, I I don’t I I don’t think you you work it necessarily in that sense that way only because the way they were using their timeouts outside of that third down, you got to have a fourth down play. There’s just a lot of logistics that go into that. But then that’s that’s where you got you you have faith in your defense. You got your defense. You also got your special teams guys going out there. You know, you allow them to to play the game as well. How do you keep this team from taking a wo is me mentality towards what’s going on with you guys? Like uh it sorry I How do you how do you keep this team from taking a wo is mentality like this keeps happening to us situations? Yeah. Well, I think it starts with the leadership in in helping articulate that for the guys and then what we’re expecting out of the guys, right? We’re expecting this. Are we getting that? Are we not getting that? We have guys showing up to only player only meetings late, guys not showing up to player only meetings. Like there there’s a lot that goes into that. Do we have to make this mandatory? Do we not have to make this mandatory? So, so it it’s it’s a lot of uh it’s a lot of things of of that nature um that we got to get cleaned up and it starts with the little things like that. To be clear, you you’re saying some players were late or missed late. Yeah. Thank you. Thanks, guys. Thank you.

Here we go again with the media taking it out of context.. in no way was TUA pointing fingers. He took accountability about the turnovers etc. Kept harping on how to get it fixed. Omar asked a question about how do u not let it be about a me thing regarding team play and TuA said well it starts by not missing player team meetings. He did not even elaborate further. 5 second answer.
He never acted like this before his concussions. He should’ve been forced to retire to protect his health.
The best press conference for miami is an empty podium and the sounds of crickets. There is nothing to say. Silence is golden.
Tua never cheers on the defense! He sits on the bench smiling.
So Tua throws all his players under the bus but he never mentions that he threw three costly interceptions?
U got few goood players to build round trade players stack draft picks stsrt over find good all round qb to start!¡!!!!!
This could be concussion related.
I honestly think the CTE might be setting in because I’ve never seen Tua talk like this and throw other people under the bus without taking accountability befofe
And With The 1st Pick In 2026 NFL Draft The Miami Dolphins Select 😆 ✊🏾 Goddam 😆
And they said reek was the problem been late he’s not even here now and players still showing up late or not at all they quit on you tua
a few time he’s spoke about not being tall enough in this interview. He spoke about not being able to see over the oline to read defense & the reason Waller is his favorite is being he’s a tall target to see spot.
. Bring back the 1997 Dolphins logo. This new logo is cursed
Tua throwing his teammates under the bus is not a good look he can't be doing that especially as a captain.
Tua might’ve gotten Mike McDaniel fired right here.
You sir are part of thier leadership.
.???…these guys are Professionals….!!????
It is just unreal how fast the Patriots blew by the Dolphins and Jets in the division. Just goes to show what a real head coach can do.
Coach needs to go!
Absolutely massive loss
I’d give McDaniel another shot with a new GM and this team built the right way. Or I’m good with him moving to the OC next season for the dolphins. Grier is the one who has to go! Immediately
Somebody needed to say it
Garbage QB can't believe we chose him over Herbert? SMH
Where is our defense??…we havent had a solid d in years…even that year when tua and reek and waddle lighting it up…they couldnt beat a team with a winning record. That was the worst thing that happened to the phins…come on grant i will call you out pretty sad when they run the ball up middle and your dbs are making the tackles
As a Bills fan this makes me smile 😃
Get rid of this fake football player this Tua should go to wrestling. He should become a wrestler. He’s the main person that’s throwing interceptions. What the hell is he talking about? You threw three interceptions fired. This guy get rid of him already that big baby
Omar knows how to word the tuff question, then getting the story out of their answer… Mr. KELLY FOR GM
🤣🤣🤣 to many knocks to the head brah! He talks to much!!
He goin out swinging 🤣🤣 throw the dolphins away bruh
