If this is true, then Nagy and Arthur Smith are immediately out of the running. So I guess that’s good. Then again, I don’t know shit about how to correctly select the next Head Coach of an NFL team.
She just needs to be completely uninvolved with the coaching search. All she needs to do is tell Brinker that his job depends on the coach’s success. That’s it.
Amy needs to put her big boy pants on
That is honestly a great aspect to focus on at this point. If I was a betting man, I’d have all my chips on McCarthy: a stabilizer, well respected, previous history with Brinker, and knows how to deal with ownership.
Amy strikes me as way too concerned with what the media/social media thinks. It feels like she’s not too far off from Woody Johnson judging players off Madden ratings and random tweets his son saw.
Lmao she should sell the team then, Jfc getting scolded is a small price for inheriting a multi billion dollar asset as well as receiving 1.3 billion from the city and state.
I think the truth is she could get scolded for any of the head coaching candidates available right now if someone wants to, either because they’re a retread or because they’re unproven and could do the same thing as Callahan
give us harbaugh
Funny that the national media pays no attention to the titans except when they have the chance to shit on them for a move that was obviously needed. Would they prefer she doesn’t acknowledge mistakes and just lets the team suck forever? Just like when Vrabel forced himself out so she fired him. The media said she was crazy even though he forced himself out and was a bad HC near the end who couldn’t build a quality coaching staff. Now that the pats have the easiest schedule in the history of an NFl season, they are piling back on because she fired an obvious dud of a coach in Callahan.

Sell the team. Dealing with media and fan pressure is one of the tenants of her job; she’s unfit and concerned about the wrong things and clearly has too thin skin.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Callahan throwing Cam under the bus and all the conversations about Vrabel coming to Tennessee is what led her to pull the trigger. Callahan’s statements did get a little national attention.
I take this as she wants to be well-received by the fans and media. In itself, not a bad secondary goal.
She wants to field a winning program and be seen as a competent owner. Can’t blame her for that. I didn’t predict Callahan and the team to do so poorly, and I’m sure she didn’t either.
It’s a tough cycle, she hired the wrong people, but hindsight is 20/20. Once you realize they aren’t working, you have to move on.. but do it too much and you have the carousel we’re now on of coaches and GMs.
Is it her fault? in the end, yes. Owner is ultimately responsible. I think she cares and is doing her best, but it’s just gone pretty crappily. She ought to have people hired she can truly trust to make some of these calls.
