The Vancouver Canucks make absolutely NO SENSE…
All right, look. I don’t think I am ever going to fully understand the Vancouver Conucks because they just fooled me yet again. And this time, I’m not complaining about it. Firstly, I just want to say I apologize for everything I said in the first intermission. I went on Nothing Things Perfect show with Russell Holiday and Dustin Boydell. Go check them out. They’re great. We talked about the state of this team in the first intermission and at that time it was two nothing for the Dallas Stars. The Conucks were looking like they were getting off to another slow start. I think the Stars had the first seven of eight shots. So, I think it’s safe to say it wasn’t the most positive chat towards this team and understandably so. But you know what? Just like I drew it up, every time I say something, the opposite happens. The Vancouver Conucks show up in the second period, absolutely blow my expectations away, scoring four unanswered goals on the Dallas Stars. They looked incredible. Honestly, it was shocking because it looked like a completely different team. And it’s bittersweet because yes, you like to see them turn it around, but now you just pray that they can carry this momentum forward and be consistent because that’s how you want to play. Man, Dallas is a great team. They knocked off some really good teams to start off the season going 3-0 and the Vancouver Conucks just took it to them. I really hope we can see more of the second period Canucks from now on. Couple things in this game I really like. Demco was solid as usual. Love the Abby Conucks line there with Lenus Carlson, Archd Baines, and Max Sass. and finally getting a look together. They were great together in the AHL and looked great tonight as well. Elias Person also looked like a bit more of himself. He was actually carrying the puck, making good plays, could have had a couple more assists, but he did get on the board as well. So, I’m happy to see Pey making more plays. And to cap it off, the MVP, Connor Garland. This guy was all over the ice today. I have to give him his praise because he was electric. Could have had a hat-tick easily. Still got on the board, which is nice to see. But yeah, he is just an absolute energy bug. Let’s talk about the game. Starting off with the first period of play. But before we get to that, quick shout out from the sponsor of today’s video, Daire Affair. They’re a local spot right here in British Columbia with over 20 locations. They specialize in Middle Eastern and Mediterranean cuisine with its signature being its Daire Wraps, platters, falafel, and other similar dishes that you’ll love. From there, you can also see their 20 plus locations, so you can check out the closest one to you. Daener affair, fresh ingredients, even better taste. Get it while you can. But with that, let’s jump right back into the video. Early on and a fast start was key for the Vancouver Conucks. They unfortunately cannot get it as Demco is forced to bail them out a couple of times, but then Maverick Bourc with a pass here gets deflected by Elias Person who’s just trying to get into the lane and it ends up in the back of the net. Very unlucky for Person. Not the start he would have wanted. And at this point it became 7-1 in shots for the Dallas Stars to start off the game. Not ideal, but as the period went on, the Vancouver Cons were gaining some momentum, getting some good shots through in chances, but Casey De Smith was up to the task. Besser gets robbed here. And as it looks like it’s getting better for the Vancouver Conucks, they take a penalty. And on that ensuing power play, it’s a crossseam pass over to Rantinon who fires him by Demco. Two nothing Stars. And I was worried that was going to ruin the Vancouver Canucks momentum, but then the second period happened. Great pass from Person Garland. Great feed over to Drew O’ Connor. I don’t know how this physically stays out of the net, but it does. Evander Kane then flips out to Philip Heel in neutral zone. He chases it down like a dog. He finds himself on a breakaway and does the same move that he did on Dustin Wolf to beat Casey to Smith and cut the Canucks deficit down to 2-1. Then Canucks power play. Patterson over to Quinn Hughes. He walks and has a shot and it’s tipped in by Brock Besser and the game is all tied up. But wait, Max Sass then gets a puck here from Tyler Myers. Nice feed. Look at the speed here on Sassin. No one can touch him and he beats Casey to Smith on that blocker side once again. And just like that, the Vancouver Conucks have a 3-2 lead in short order. Connor Garland gets crafty here. Goes off the back of Casey to Smith and it barely stays out. And then this wraparound here again by Garland. He just doesn’t get the angle right or else he would have had him clean. Very good look. But he finally gets his goal with a steal here off this Stars defender. He absolutely dees the crap out of this other guy and then slides it by to Smith to make it a 4-2 game as we head to the second intermission. What a crazy period for this team. The Stars were mounding on the pressure, knocking at the door, but Demco was standing tall at every task that came his way. But then Miko Ranton and draws a penalty and the Stars get a power play with just under 3 minutes to go. And you can probably guess how that went. The Stars score Johnston on the sixon four makes it a 4-3 game. But then the Stars with an interesting tactic. They see Quinn Hughes unmarked with the puck in his own zone. So what do they do? They pull the goalie and then and then we scored. So it was 5-3. So, I’ll take it. I don’t know what the plan there was, but hey, a goal is a goal. Quinn Hughes with his first of the year. The Canucks win. And what a sigh of relief, man, because the Conucks really needed this win. You want to get off to a good start, and a 1 and2 start is still very salvageable. The Conucks have a huge road trip. So, hitting the mark against a very tough team is going to go a long way. Hopefully, they can keep this momentum up. They have the Chicago Blackhawks tomorrow, so I’ll see you then. Thank you for watching. Make sure you like and subscribe if you’re new. Give me your thoughts in the comment section down below. Peace out and take care.
The Vancouver Canucks beat the Dallas Stars in a big win. Conor Garland stole the show, but Elias Pettersson also had a good performance tonight, hopefully they can keep up this momentum as they face the Blackhawks tomorrow night!

Connor “The Gargoyle” Garland should have been the 1st star. My man was feral out there tonight! 😎👍🏻🍻
(must've been quite the pep talk in canucks' locker room during 1st intermission
Donair affair??? Right next to van tech they goated. Pro tip: get the Mayan protein bowl half half beef lamb
Amazing!
The Donair Affair plug always has me laughing 😆
That's a beauty sponsor! Did they give you a gold card?
Stars and pulling goalies
Name a more iconic duo
Donair affair..couldn't have picked a worse donair place to get sponsored by. Despite moving away from the coast and missing donairs, I'd still take a nice sandwich over their crap.
I guess the plan was to do Quinn Hughes a solid so he wins the Norris over Makar?
Garland could have 5 goals in this game….Donair Affair in Tsawwassen too,🤔
The DOC – Ratÿ – Sherwood line with the dpetey- mancini pairing were bing caved 5 on 5. Hope to see a big rebound game by those guys
Donair Affair is elite
Idk if Dallas’ ice is rigged but 7/8 goals were scored on the away sides goalie. Except for Hughes empty netter at the end of the game, it would have been 7/7
I missed this kind of game from Petey. Even though he only had one assist, this is the closest I’ve seen him to his old self. Also, I thought Barkov was playing for the Canucks in this game — man, his new build, coupled with his defensive plays, kind of makes him look like Barkov!
Garland
I will say When I saw the Matchup the First thought I had was the meme "I'm in Danger" because Dallas Haven't lost a game yet this season, but I got a pleasant surprise this morning. Love your Content, good to see there is some Canucks fans out there, where I'm from the closest Canuck fan that I know of is half Canuck fan half Boston fan, a combo I didn't think was possible.
Classic Canucks 😂
I like the idea of Pete with Garland. Seems to make sense. Also, great effort and speed by Sasson on his goal there love to see it
I was in attendance last night. Brother lives in Dallas in a suburb called Garland. I said to him before the game it would be funny if garland scored in his own backyard
Garland will forever be underestimated. Even by fans of the team
Do you what I find remarkable about Garland.
He embraced coming to Vancouver, never takes a night or shift off, gets points, back checks and gives it his all.
The fans love him and he openly got emotional when his name was chanted in an interview but the crowd.
Yet all I ever here from so called experts/talking heads in Canuck land is………he's a bit small, lacks a deadly finish and his contract his maybe a bit much!!
I find it utterly baffling!!!
…mmm… now I want a donair
Love me some Donair Affair
Water down on the Donair Sauce
Sure they do. They're a team that will be lucky to make the playoffs and inconsistency is a hallmark of those kinds of teams. You need consistency to be a winner. This isn't on Foote or the players necessarily. The team just gets overhyped every year and when things don't go as planned, the fans find a punching bag.
I think the reason they pulled desmith when they did was because the Canucks had a powerplay that was going to run out the game. The Canucks seemed content to just play keepaway in their own zone. After having done so for about 20-30 seconds, DAL seemed to say screw it, it's now or never…they pull desmith while the puck is in the hands of the most deadly Canuck lol.
You gotta love Garland, he is a treasure! Still waiting for Pettey to show up.
no i knew for a fact they'd choke against the blues and then defeat the undefeated stars. After that own goal i thought Petey was gonna have a bust of a night but he pulled it together and had a generally good game.
Keep the Abby line together. They seem like a well functioning line. And Garland should have an "A" on his jersey.
Is EP stuck at the Sweden airport?
incoming loss against the AHL team tonight.
Dude : Canucks are now 2 and 2……
