How do we feel about this can he speak for us?

  1. it’s still way too early, and several games of good doesn’t wipe out nearly 2 years of shit. But it’s promising and something to build on now that we finally look competent again.

  2. As a diehard saints fan it’s hard not to route for yall, especially Bryce. Best believe, assuming the Saints aren’t gonna make a crazy comeback, I’ll be pulling for yall. I really wanna see Bryce succeed.

  3. Pretty bold generalizations going on here.

    Bryce is playing better, sure, but you’d be hard pressed to find a large number of fans that are all in on him being the franchise guy.

  4. Bryce has looked so bad a lot so I think it’ll take quite a bit better he’ll look like a franchise QB. The end of last season was promising though, he’s starting to improve this season, if he can just be consistent and not have slow starts, and one of these days have a breakout game, maybe we’ll see. Also 8/9 wins have come on late game winning drives so that says a lot.

  5. Almost likes it takes time, good coaching, a decent support staff for any QB to succeed

  6. Franchise QB? No. He’s done nothing to say that he is even really close to that yet. No consistent level of play. Not carrying team to success. If he keeps playing like this and this is his peak then at most we should just pick up his 5th year option and still keep looking for a new QB because there’s no way any fan feels comfortable paying Bryce franchise QB level money.

  7. I’ve been back and forth on Bryce young. Firm believer during his rookie season giving him benefit of the doubt due to the circumstances with coaching and poor roster. After two games in year two I was out. The final stretch during year two I was back to being fully on board. First two games this season I was back out. Now I’m torn. I’ve seen some truly great plays and elite throws but at the same time some head scratchers and costly turnovers that seem to come too often. Given the inconsistencies I’m very cautious, although due to the relative weakness of our roster and the fact that he’s young and deserves time to actually develop (I.E. Darnold, Mayfield, and even Geno Smith to an extent) I feel like we should pick up the fifth year and ride it out til his rookie contract is up while building a solid team on all sides of the ball. People say three years is when you know if your QB is the guy or not but I’m beginning to believe that may feel premature. In the day and age of everyone wanting instant success and instant results I think we need to show some patience with this young man.

  8. Look at some point we have to just admit that 2 things can be true. He is super accurate on short/intermediate throws and comes in clutch in big moments.

    He also struggles to eclipse 200 yards passing in general and that is 100% a problem. Don’t cherry pick the last 2 games and say game script blah blah because yeah I get that but its not a 2 game issue and we won’t rush for a billion yards every game.

    He needs to stretch the field and saying that is not shitting on Bryce it is just reality.

    For me I still don’t see it but I’m also not hoping he fails. Idk why we have such weird energy about an analysis that seems very obvious.

  9. I was very close to giving up on Young completely after the 0-2 start. I’m optimistic now after seeing his play since the Atlanta game. I’m rooting for him. WR’s look descent and the O-line is giving him time in the pocket. Keep Pounding!!!!

  10. Schultz is not a serious reporter. 3-3 is fine, our last two wins are due to Rico. I’m happy to see Bryce is making less mistakes but also the ball was out of his hands.

  11. Im far from sold. A couple of good drives doesnt overwrite the other 25ish games of him been complete ass.

  12. There are 2 types of people in this world:

    Some have to see to believe.

    Others just believe.

    While im in the latter group, I understand the position of the former.

  13. I still don’t have belief he can be one of the true top tier QBs. However, if he can build on the past couple weeks and the stretch from last year, I think he could be a really good game manager that can make some big plays/be clutch when needed. A lot of teams have seen great success with an elite game manager type QB, and if that’s where Bryce ends up I’d be happy. Biggest issue for Bryce above all else is consistency and avoiding those backbreaking turnovers.

  14. BY9’s passing performance over the last two weeks compared to all other NFL passers this season:

    * 36/55 for a 65.7 CMP% – 15th
    * 397 yards (198.5 yards AVG) – 17th
    * 5 TD, 2 INT for 2.5 TD per game and 1 INT per game – 1st in TDs, tied for 4th most INTs
    * 107.8 passer rating – 7th
    * 44.6 QBR – 23rd

    What can’t exactly be accounted for on the stat sheet is playing WINNING FOOTBALL by making great throws in the 4th quarter in game winning drives, as well as missed opportunities on other drives by sailing balls over wide open receivers.

  15. I think if Bryce was a bit more consistent, I’d feel a lot better about him. He either looks phenomenal, or the worst QB in the league, absolutely no middle ground. One thing I didn’t realize about Bryce was how young he is. Younger than Penix, Daniels and Dylan Gabriel. Does that make me feel better about him? Not really. I do almost consider him as a year two QB since he had to deal with that shit show of a coaching staff after he was drafted.

  16. BY didn’t “engineer” anything. He followed instructions. And he handed the ball off to a fuggin’ MAD AF BELLCOW RB!
