I’m confused how this is an INT when it appears DK still has his left hand on the football while he’s touching out of bounds. They took away a fumble return TD from the Steelers in Ireland in the same fashion, but this one is awarded an INT?

  1. Agreed, they reviewed and gave them the INT so fast. It didnt look like he had full possession until his right knee hit OB. Refs set the tone early in this one

  2. if this isn’t an INT, it’s probably the difference between us winning and losing too. refs did a number last night.

  3. That one had us all confused last night.

  4. Simple… it’s not. Last night’s ref crew, objectively, should never officiate another game in their lives. They were grossly incompetent at best.

  5. I’ll go to my grave saying that was not a pick, and Jesse James’ catch was a catch and TD..

  6. Because Metcalf had already lost possession at this point.

It was ruled an INT, so the review needed to be definitive. Unfortunately, it wasn’t.

  7. It would be because the defender has control of the ball. Whereas the fumble was not possessed by anyone. Now did the defender maintain control the whole time? That’s hard to say

  8. That one had us all confused last night and I mean everyone. In our group only 2 of us are Steelers fans. Everyone else wears their own teams jerseys.

  9. Yeah I’m lost on it to.. even tho the dB has much better possession at this point from looking at it, benefit always goes to the offense. Dk should still be considered to have possession at this point and he’s down and out of bounds.

Personally I think incomplete prob would have been the right call, but it should have been that or catch by DK

  10. Yeah they were still fighting for it. I assumed it’d be ruled incomplete since they went out of bounds

  11. Sucks, cuz that drive could’ve been a FG at minimum, which ultimately turned into pts for them

  12. Refs were awful against the Steelers last night , although, this call I was ok with . There 7 other calls I thought were total BS

  13. This call was horseshit several times over.

    DK caught the ball.

Then he lost possession as he fell.

Turner got both hands on the ball, then landed out of bounds before getting both feet down.

    > Article 7. Player Possession

    > A player is in possession when he is inbounds and has control of the ball with his hands or arms.

    > To gain possession of a loose ball that has been caught, intercepted, or recovered, a player (a) must have complete control of the ball with his hands or arms and (b) have both feet or any other part of his body, other than his hands, completely on the ground inbounds, and, after (a) and (b) have been fulfilled, clearly perform any act common to the game (e.g., extend the ball forward, take an additional step, tuck the ball away and turn upfield, or avoid or ward off an opponent). It is not necessary that he commit such an act, provided that he maintains control of the ball long enough to do so. This rule applies in the field of play, at the sideline, and in the end zone.

    No turnover.

Refs totally fucked it up. Tomlin should have thrown a challenge flag.

  14. Not saying I agree with the call, but the DB made an insane play to even be put in consideration. Big congrats & fuck you to him for making a big play

  15. Yeah, this was so hard to see, so I figured they’d spend time reviewing while NY reviewed it. But then they called it an INT. We barely had to watch the replays on the broadcast. They rushed it for some reason we’ll never know.

  16. Two things can be true – the Steelers D played awfully (and the coaches did not seem to adjust) AND the refs made several dogshit calls (the INT, the end zone DPI, a few other chicken shit DPIs, and the holding on BroJo that happens to TJ Watt 6 times a game and is never called)

  17. The refs were clearly against PIT all night. I think the new edict from the NFL is they want every team to be 9-8 or 8-9 at season’s end except KC they can have more than 9 wins.

The TV crew agreeing with refs was the worst he has possession he touches out of bounds play is over. TERRIBLE CALL IN A NIGHT FULL OF TERRIBLE CALLS.

I can tell who the refs are favouring in any NFL game once the 1st quarter is well underway and they always favour one team – been watching 50 years and it has never changed.

  18. What’s crazy to me, is that they didn’t make a call right away, they “conferenced” for like 5 minutes and talked about it, said it was an interception and just kept going.

There is ZERO world where something like this is “control” and then the Bengals guy who was going an out didn’t have control when he was running out of bounds. It makes no fucking sense
