It really is amazing to watch him maintain possession of this puck while his opponent is on him. I mean, they’re pushing him, they’re shoving, they’re doing everything they can, but he’s resilient. He’s got a willingness to his game, but he’s also got power. Power. You can see at his lower half and the balance and coordination it takes to get this puck to the net. Pushes it across to Appleton. I thought that he should have this puck here, James. I think he does as well. There’s one player net front and yeah, creating a screen, but he’s got to out battle that player one-on-one. Find a way to track that puck. Tampa Bay’s clearly had a few energy drinks prior to puck drop because they’re already up by a pair here in the first. It’s always great to see a team come out and play with desperation, not just at the end of the game. There’s been urgency to their step and a lot of pace to their play. Quick feed to Edmonson. And if you want to be on a PK, you got to make sure that you get to those shooting lanes hard and fast. Can they capitalize on this power play? Here comes the faceoff. And they win the draw in the offensive zone and they go to work. Oh, what a good save by Vasileki. I love that he swallowed this one up with his glove. It’s a real threat coming from the slot area. But you play the game differently depending on the situation. And when you’re off, you got to know it. And you got to game manage and you got to puck manage that turnover. Gets the full use of his stick on the P check along the board as they battle to the P and they’ll get a breather as the goalender covers it up. The Red Wings coaching staff has to be frustrated. Their players have played well tonight, but they just can’t finish on some of these chances. And we’re running out of time late in the third. And in the top of the four, beats a goalender, but couldn’t beat the post. The girls lead in this game doesn’t get extended. And man, they would have loved that one for the extra cushion, but it goes off the post and out. Angles it over to Larkin. The Lightning have taken possession along the wall. Tampa Bay’s caught the puck against the boards and he takes the dish. Slides the puck ahead to Van Reinstein. Smart read by the defender to come up with it. Both sides mixed up for that battle for the cup along the wall. Great extension on his part to poke it away. Find some space in the corner. He cuts down his angles and then he can redirect it to safety. Detroit’s put plenty of pucks on net here tonight, but they still trail late in the third. Points won the faceoff here in the offensive zone. Stops and cold. Receives the pass. Ben Reike’s got it along the boards. fires it on net and there’s the save on the play. Tries to feed it over to Cucheron. Walk up taken by Gentle and he gets in front of that rocket. In the final moments of this period, it’s a twogoal lead we’re looking at with the score 3-1. approaching the final minute of regulation. And now he tries to get it across to Copper. Picked up along the wall by Appleton. Detroit School is on the bench. The extra attacker has jumped into the play and he makes the save with ease. We’ll get a face off after the puck stays coming up. Face off looming as both centers get into position. and momentum on their side as they win the draw here inside the offensive zone. And he was right there to make the stop on that play and they take possession off the draw here in their own end. tosses it to Gonzalez. Fires it to the empty net. Detroit’s got the puck along the wall. Slides the pass over the top. Takes the pass. Good possession along the wall. Can’t believe he’s got a hold of the puck now. And a great save. Quick pass across to Gonz along the boards by Beverin. Ravens got it into offensive territory. Fans urging for a shot on goal in the 9 seconds. A chance to ice it to the empty. They score. Yeah. And this one will all but seal the deal. James a real insurance marker and a game well fought and a win well earned. That’s a strong effort all the way around. Stingy defensively at the end of the game. And they’re able to get that empty netter. And it’s a dying minutes here. games. It should seal the deal. Detroit’s got to start to recognize a sense of urgency here. They continue to trail late in the third and have had plenty of chances but can’t finish. The Red Wings win the draw. Turns it over. Tampa Bay has been stifling their opponent all game long as they’re right up in their face. They’re turning over pucks. They’re finding ways to interrupt the play. And wow, they’re going forward quick and in a hurry. And they’re just dominating the scoreboard. [Applause] Hope everyone had as much fun as we did here tonight.
