The Chiefs are ACTUALLY doing something about their biggest problem…

So, let’s jump right into it. Today, the Chief’s final injury report has been released and the Chiefs have no designations. Even Coach Reed stated that Xavier Worthy should be ready to go versus the Lions on Sunday Night Football. So, at this point in the year, having a fully healthy squad feels absolutely like stealing. The Lions, on the other hand, are not so lucky. And although they are winning football games, it’s come at quite the cost. So, let’s dive in and talk about this Chiefs versus Lions matchup and give some score predictions. Thanks for joining All Chief Up, the premier Chiefs channel for Chiefs fans, not just in Kansas City, but worldwide. Detroit’s defense is reeling with cornerbacks Terrion Arnold, DJ Reed, and Khil Dorsy being sidelined, and safeties Branch and Joseph are questionable. Mahomes, fresh off finding his groove, could exploit this weakened unit for a career night. Will the Lions depleted backfield hold up or will Kansas City’s passing attack run wild? In a big Sunday night game that’s important for the Chiefs because of the two and three record, but they’re also playing a really good opponent. One good thing to see is that their secondary is a little hampered right now because Patrick Mahomes can take advantage of that. I think he’s been kind of getting back in his groove a little bit this season. He’s getting a little bit more time in the pocket. He feels a little more comfortable and you see him doing Mahomes things that he used to do years ago. He’s breaking out a little bit here and there, but he’s just reeling for that one big game. And this could be it under the national spotlight. I think he could take advantage of a weekend secondary, especially if Xavier Worthy is ready to go like Andy Reid said he is. All these receivers are kind of stepping up. You’ve seen Hollywood Brown have some good games. You’ve seen Guju actually show up. You also see Xavier Worthy killing it when he’s available. And not to even mention Taekquin Thornton. He’s just been killing it out there. Getting tons of separation and keeping the play going once it gets busted up. Mahomes has been finding him. Yeah, I think Mahomes has a chance for a big night. Now, there are a few things Detroit can do to throw him off. Detroit generates pressure on 38% of downs when they send four or fewer defenders. That’s fourth best in the NFL. And we know Patrick Mahomes, he usually eats up the blitz, but Detroit doesn’t necessarily have to send the blitz. They’re fourth without sending a blitz. So the thing is Mahomes is going to see a lot of zone. He’s going to see a lot of front four. He’s just got to exploit that. So if Detroit backs up and plays more man-to-man, Mahomes has got to find a way to win that. He’s not been doing it lately. Versus the Jags, he was two of nine for seven yards. He did have a touchdown, but he also had a pick on that. And versus the Eagles in manto man when they blitzed running manto man. He was three of 10 for only 42 yards, no touchdowns, one interception, and a five QB rating. So, Mahomes has been very hit or miss when it comes to beating the blitz, and that’s usually something Mahomes has done throughout his career. It looks like they can get there with the front four without having to blitz. But, if our offensive line can hold up and they send that, Mahomes has got to prove that he’s still elite enough to beat the Blitz, which I think he is. Speaking of keeping Patrick Mahomes jersey clean, the Lion star edge rusher Aiden Hutchinson, that could be a freaking nightmare for young tackle Josh Simmons, young guard King Mataya, and even Jawan Taylor over there on the other side. Hutchinson rattled the Chiefs in 2023. And it looks like he could be hungry for more. So the big question is, can the Chiefs offensive line protect Patrick Mahomes from the Detroit Lions relentless edge rusher? Aiden Hudson is a flatout beast. Like he’s the best in the game right now. He’s scoring a 78 run defense grade, which is 10th out of all edges. He has a 93 pass rush grade, which is second out of all edges in football. And he ranks first overall out of all edges in PFF grade for overall defense with a 93. He has six sacks and he’s forced three fumbles. He is a beast. The last time he went up against Jawan Taylor, Jawan held his own, but there were plays throughout the game where he just absolutely just put him on his ass and went right by him. So, Mahomes is going to have to keep his eyes on Hutchinson, whichever side he’s coming from. Now, are they going to shift him over to Josh Simmons? The rookies looked pretty good throughout the year. Uh, they’re not really giving up a lot of sacks. He’s not giving up tons of pressures. Our offensive line has looked really good, but Hutchinson is a different beast. This could be Josh Simmons biggest matchup to date, and let’s hope he actually comes out and performs. I don’t think it’s just a whole lot different from any other week with the Chiefs. You have to protect Patrick Mahomes and give him time to work back there. I think that’s no different this week. Although you do have the best pass rusher in the league coming up against some young guys on the offensive line. I think they’ll hold up pretty well though, man. They’re just going to have to do what they normally do. Use some of these running backs to chip, get some tight end help over there. Just make sure that Aiden Hutchinson isn’t completely wrecking the game and I think they’ll be okay. I think one big thing is Patrick Mahomes probably needs to get the ball out a little quicker than usual this week. In the past, we’ve noticed the Chiefs really are successful when Patrick Mahomes gets rid of the ball kind of quick. So maybe we hit some of these playmakers early like Xavier Worthy, Hollywood Brown, and even Taekwon Thornton if you want to use his speed. Just get them the ball early and let them work. Get yards after the catch. That might be key to slowing down that pass rush a little bit. But we have to have a run game straight up. That’s the first thing. We have to establish a run game. That way those guys can’t pin their ears back and go after Mahomes all day. So, after a shaky performance against Jacksonville, where Chamari Connor and Jaylen Watson struggled, the Chief’s defensive backfield is under scrutiny. With Christian Falton’s potential return, will they lean on rookie null Williams or will they stick with the veteran? The Lions will test their inconsistencies. Can the Chiefs defensive backs lock down Detroit’s passing game? So, I think this is actually one of the biggest keys to victory for the Chiefs on Sunday night is making sure that Detroit doesn’t get out there and get loose in the passing attack. Almond Ross St. Brown is one of the best receivers in the entire football league. And then you also have Jameson Williams who has a lot of speed that can get loose as well. We have to put some pressure on Jared Goff and make sure these routes can’t develop and them hit big home run plays. Also, we have to make sure that our DBs are doing their jobs. Right now over the course of the season, Jamari Connor has proved that he kind of can’t do that. Jaylen Watson’s had games where he can’t do that. We really need to focus on getting old Williams some more snaps. I don’t know if that’s where Steve Spagnolo’s head’s at. I know it’s where the fan base’s head’s at, but we have to see what he decides to go with. And then also, the safeties need a big game because we can’t let Sam Laaporta beat us either. We had a big problem with letting tight ends get crazy on us last year. We don’t want to see that resurface. We want to make sure we keep him at bay, too. So, the Chiefs are allowing 123.4 yards per game on the ground. Uh, the Detroit Lions have Jir Gibbs and David Montgomery. Those two are going to have to be stopped and I don’t know if the Chiefs are up to the challenge. Our defensive line has looked kind of bad lately. We are going to get Omar Norman Lot back and playing this week. He looks like he’s going to be back healthy. So, we’ll we’ll see what happens here. We’ve struggled. Derek Naughty is the worst defender in football at the defensive tackle position through five games. Uh, great job Brett V letting Mike Panell walk. Not to mention the Chiefs rank dead last against playaction passes. If these two backs get going, guess who’s one of the best playaction passers to ever play football? Jared Goff. So, look, if you got Jamari Connor out there trying to guard the slot and he’s matched up against Amandra St. Brown, it is going to be a long day. If you don’t get a a good matchup versus Sam Laaporta, he is going to eat us alive. Jared Goff is a very good quarterback. You got to remember he is 2 and 0 versus Mahomes and could be 3-0 after this Sunday. Now, he does crumble a little bit if you get pressure on him. And the Chiefs are good at getting pressure, but there’s a caveat to that. We’re good at getting pressure, not with just our front four, but with a lot of people. The Chiefs don’t really get home very well with their front four, and that may be a bad sign here because Jared Goff can totally eat that alive. Jared Goff leads the league right now in touchdown passes, and he’s number two behind Lamar Jackson, only Lamar Jackson, in total QBR. So Jared Goff is a very good quarterback. He is on pace this year, Steve, to have 41 passing touchdowns to seven picks and over 4,000 yards passing. This dude can flat out throw the football. And the Chiefs defense better have a very good game plan ready. All right, baby. Let’s get into some score predictions. I do think the Chiefs are going to pull this one out in Arrowhead. And let me tell you why. Their backs are against the wall a little bit at two and three. They don’t want to drop down to two and four and have a big hill to climb just to get to the playoffs. That’s not where they want to be, especially with Rasheed Rice coming back next week and being able to get back at full strength. They’ve had a lot of heat coming down on them from not only sports media, but from their own fan base. And I think it’s time that they step up and try to quieten everybody down a little bit. I do, however, think they’re going to have to score a lot of points. Even if the Chiefs defense plays a good game, the Detroit Lions know how to put points on that scoreboard. So, they’re going to get theirs, but Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs offense is going to have to put a little bit more. And I think that’s exactly what’s going to happen. I’m saying 3431 Chiefs in Arrowhead. I’ll give the game ball to Patrick Mahomes. I think he has a big night. They have a weakened secondary and I think he can exploit that. So I’m looking for him to have 300 yards passing and four, yes, four touchdowns. Okay. I picked the Chiefs every game this year, but I think this one I’m going to pick the Lions. I’m sorry. I’m going to pick the Lions to win. I don’t know if the Chiefs have enough horses in the stable to outrun these cats, especially with our defense and the way Chamari Connor has been getting abused, the way Jaylen Watson’s kind of been off and on. Now, I do fully believe that Spags could let No Williams play a little bit more or Christian Falton and they could try to move McDuffy into the slot and match up against Aman Ros St. Brown, but he’s such a good receiver that no matter how good McDuffy is, he’s still going to get his. That’s just the way it is. Golf has 478 yards off play action passes this year and that ranks second amongst all QBs. The Chiefs defense again ranks 32nd in yards allowed per play for play action. So, they cannot stop play action. I don’t think they’re going to be able to stop the run game that the Lions bring. And I think it could just be a bad night. The Chiefs offense is going to look like one of those old school games where like Greg Robinson or somebody’s the D coordinator. I just don’t feel like our defense is going to be able to stop the Lions and I think they’re going to get out and the officials are kind of going to do what they’ve been doing this year and hold the Chiefs back when we start with momentum. So, as sad as I am to say it, I think the Lions are going to win 3124 somewhere in that range. Uh the Chiefs could win it. If the Chiefs get up early and Andy Reid would keep his foot on the gas, we could maybe win this one. But it almost feels like it would almost turn into say Chiefs versus Rams back in Mexico City, that kind of game where it’s 5655 or whatever it was. But I just don’t know. I’m going to go ahead and for a little bit of superstition, I keep picking the Chiefs and they keep losing. So I’m going to pick the line to see if I can curse them a little bit. I don’t like it, Mike. But that’s okay. You guys hit that like button, subscribe, and share this video with a friend. And we’ll see you next time. Go Chiefs.

  1. 2-4 incoming!
    Go Lions! 🦁
Kc doesn’t have a shot in hell to win this game
    & I’m a chiefs fan
    I’m actually realistic not delusional
    like some people
    No playoffs this year!
    We need a rest

  2. I like to consider myself a somewhat intelligent person and it warps my brain that this channel doesn’t get 50k+ views per video. What are we doing Chiefs Kingdom?

  3. With the injuries, KC should win and let's be honest, 2-4 won't be easy to deal with since the schedule still has the Bills, Redskins, Colts, Cowboys Chargers and Broncos x 2. That leaves only 4 soft games, Raiders x 2, Titans, and Texans. KC needs a win here and they should be salty.

  4. Haters….you will not crush my soul or vibe as a Chiefs fan. No matter what you say or do. Ask why you hate so much because God is of love. 1 John 4:16: "And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them." You can not hate and claim you are with Christ.

  5. Andy needs to consider retirement. He keeps calling the same plays at the same time. His strength used to be unpredictability. That’s out the window.

  6. Feels like stealing? I don’t know about that.. but if we could just get scoring drives to be consistent I would be happy. Pocket looks clean so far.

  7. I'm from Los Angeles but grew up south of KC in tiny Humboldt, KS, and have been a Chiefs fan from grade school through the good, the bad and the ugly. I'm 73 years old and this Patrick Mahomes era has been unlike any 7-8 year period that I can recall. I was around for the Len Dawson (RIP) years but it was nothing remotely close to what we have witnessed when 15 became our starting QB. The sloppy play last Monday night resulting in the pick 6 and 13 penalties cost them a game they needed to win. SO, they have to be firing on all cylinders tonight if they expect to pull out a win against the Lions, injured or not. SO, GO CHIEEFS!!!
