  6. You could make the argument that Teryl Austin is a worse coordinator than Matt Canada. At least with Canada, he was stuck running a team with awful quarterback and o-line play. What’s Austin’s excuse?? Highest payroll in the league, a Defensive MVP and multiple Pro Bowlers and still craps the bed every time we play a team with a halfway decent offense.

  7. So Teryl Austin is basically praying that TJ or Highsmith sack the QB on every pass play. Cause he obviously knows fuck all about coverage.

    I wouldn’t be shocked if his playcall over the mike was literally “run the play when you sack the quarterback or pick it off”

  11. This was the maddest I’ve been at a Steelers game since the last playoff loss to Brady. We all fucking saw this coming.

    This is the best roster they’ve had since, what, 2020? Playing soft ass coverage on the best fucking receiver all game. Unbelievable.

  14. What if like sometimes a player like TJ dropped out into coverage last second like Harrison did in the Super Bowl. Like what if the defense disguised their plays here and there. Wouldn’t that be crazy?

  15. It’s so funny how teams constantly come out and trash both our offensive and defensive gameplan and scheme. Like I follow the game pretty closely and you almost never see guys talk like this about other teams, it’s like guys are dumbfounded at how simple and basic the shit is.

  16. This is one of the things that has driven me absolutely nuts about this team for years. Tomlin may have his strengths as a leader, but over and over we’ve seen him have ZERO ability to adapt in the middle of a game. 

    Like, the plan is the plan, and if the other team figured it out and is destroying us because of it … welp, I guess we’ll just stick to the plan and get destroyed – nothing we can do about it! 

    This includes almost every game against the top contenders. Whichever teams those may be from year to year, you can bet they’ll figure out a weakness to abuse by like the second drive of the game, and then they’ll just keep hammering and hammering at it all day while we don’t do a thing about it.

  19. I remember even on the Ravens he would dice the Steelers in the exact same fashion because they are notorious for playing soft zones. Just hitch routes and out routes all night long nothing’s changed.

  21. Thats the benefit of having a qb whos been in the league for 20 years playing the Steelers once or twice a year that whole time.

    Think we were just beat up. Nothing like back 2 back division games on a short week. I’m not too worried.

  23. There’s so many soft spots. I’m always surprised we get a stop if we’re playing a good QB. There’s enough talent it comes together sometimes and big plays happen but we get gashed on the ground and in the air too consistently and that’s scheme

  24. I didn’t see tomlins presser, did it go something like “they figured out our schematics and that was a component of us failing to cover their main weapon at any point in the game”. How bout in game adjustments mike? Who’s calling the D mike? Is anyone on this team ever held accountable in the moment and not three years after the fact?

  26. I’ve seen this year after year so I’m not expecting much until I see a playoff win other then that I don’t even care if they win the rest of the season

  28. It is maddening that we left Chase get 16 catches. At some point put 3 guys on him. We didn’t adjust at all. Slay looked old and so did Ramsey.

  30. I too am angry. I also knew this would happen the minute the schedule came out. Let me break it to you now. We will also shit the bed in Chicago as we have done every time we have played there since 1930. I have watched the entire series of The Sopranos 17 times and it’s still less predictable than the Steelers.

  31. The Defense is entirely predictable in coverage and is predicated on getting pressure on the QB and forcing bad throws. No pressure, no defense.
