NHL Highlights | Lightning vs. Red Wings | October 17, 2025

The Ducks facing a powerful Lightning team.
Axel Sandine Pelica on the back end with Simon Edmonson. Casper with Kane and Debrink starting
up front for the Red Wings as the Lightning have it. A shot that just goes wide of the net carried
into the zone by Darren Radish. That got picked up and here’s the break as Finny’s got it. Gets the
return feed from Appleton. A good save made there. Well, Tampa Bay had some early kind of pressure.
This probably should have been a better breakaway than it turned out. So, with some hesitation
with Finny and Appleton and Tampa Bay did a really good job really to get back as point on
the right pad by Vaselki. Taken here by Larkin. Larkin gets pushed off the puck. Got it back
to the line for Sherro through a crowd. Came low. Sherro again doesn’t shoot it. swings it
back to the line and a shot there by Cider and a save made by Vaselki getting one ahead. Ben
Remsteike couldn’t get anywhere. What wingspan for both teams on their fourth lines here tonight
and it goes for James Van Remsteike. JVR that gets stopped. JVR’s got it again. Then he got hooked a
little bit. No call. Larkin up along with Finny. Back it comes for Sherro to the net. A good
save by Vaseli. right now. Nothing yet. Play back and across. Penalty coming. Tampa Bay. Oh,
and score. It was touched, but Pelican got shot it. His first goal for Axel Sandy Pelican.
And look at everybody in the happiness is on the scoreboard. Look at the flex in that
stick. [Music] Wow. It went off somebody right in front of the net. Yeah. Don’t think it
was Appleton. No. Yeah. That hit Hegel. Yeah. 38. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Wow. Right
place, right time for Sandine Pelica. Oh, and a big collision as Rasbus went down
heavily. Lightning were changing. That was a yard sale there. And a save made
by Vaselki. Lead pass for Connor Geeki. Geeky stops inside the line through at the
net. Big save there by John Gibson. The save you’re referring to Ken Braden Point. Now that’s a
rebound that I don’t know if he could have done a better job of that or not. [Applause] Sand Dean
Pel for Coff into the zone. Copic [ __ ] always gets himself into shooting position. He’s Kane
with 494 career goals at the game-winning goal on Wednesday against the defending Cup champs out
front. Good save on left. Kane on the rebound. Held the previous mark. Hey down low. Oh, big stop there on a shot
from Gensel. That was underneath the bad can and out the other side in the net and half
seasons with Pittsburgh where he won a cup. Oh boy. Oh boy. He knows he’s got
to get that away immediately and too close for comfort. That’s a
quality scoring chance for sure. Geeki out of the box. Heel brings it in. Turn back up high. Geeki went down.
Loose puck. Good save there. comes back to the line. Loose puck and
Gibson’s got it. [Music] Pretty good chance. [Applause] Getting over was Apple. Coming
off the check was Hegel back to Gensel. Big stop there. Well, Gensel again been all around it
here in the third period. This time he again Raymond Day today with the upper body injury. On
it now is Curtis Douglas. Robert loose right in the crease. They bang away at it. Oh, it stays
out. They’re on it again. Oh boy. Detroit player it was. It might have been Sandine Pelica. Huge
save there. Huge save there. It was Pelica. He reached out to grab it. You’ll have to take a
close look at it, but no cigar. And it’s still a one- nothing lead for and this Redwing team
as a result of that. And so far so good with just under nine to play in the third. Tipped and
a good save there by Vaselki. Casper on the forch on the wing. Played back against
the shot. Big save. Rebound. Oh, what a stop. Two big stops by
Gibson. And a third right there. They’re pushing and pushing and pushing.
[Applause] Don’t know if that puck again is canceled. My god, he’s I’m guessing he’s got
five shots on goal here in the third period alone. Gets his own rebound. That’s excellent goalending right there,
boy. Yeah, Gensel’s got comes back here to Geeky again for JJ Moser. The
shot picked up by Celli again. They’re getting to the puck first. Lots
back. It comes for Moser one more time. They score. Too much traffic. Point
shot. Moser found its way. 1-1 with 343 to go in the third period. They
can give his eyes away. Look at the front of the net. I mean, look
at that. Two big bodies there. Not one but two. Oh jeez. He has
no even at 63. He can’t see a darn thing with those two big guys in front. Now
Detroit’s got to be very careful. [Applause] Stolen here by Finny. Penny’s in. Oh, and
a piece of that. Jenny takes advantage of that and it was Mo toward the goal.
Not the greatest of angles for Finny, but he got ridden for the
the corner a little bit by Victor Edmond with that big reach right on
the cap of the goalender stick short side. Then he circles the net. Sandine Pelica for
Larkin shooting one. Good save as rebound. Oh, big stop there on Finn here. A big break.
Headedman carries sending Pelica back. The shot and a save there by Gibson on Hedman. Gensel
checked by De Brinket. Puck loose loose there and turnaround shot point. Gibson over. Here comes to
Brinket. gathering speed into the zone. Swings it wide. Gensel back in front. Heman just missed it
and a break the other way from center ice. It’s Dylan Lin. The game on his stick. Scores. Lin wins
it. The Red Wings have won four in a row. [Music] [Music] Excellent [Music] [Applause] chance by
Tampa Bay. I’ll get the time on Larkin shift in his overtime time. But the bottom line is
just Larkin again. What a great finish. Pulls it to his forehand, backhand, forehand, quick
snap shot. Look at the snap in that stick, the flex. And the Red Wings
win it in overtime. 18 19,000.

  1. His rebound control got me in the first half, and in the second half, I was so scared that whole game.
He must of had some of Michael’s Secret Stuff before the game. 😏

  2. So happy for Detroit !

It's about damm time , Right hand shots outnumbered Left hands .

For so long Detroit had 85 % – left hand people on the roster .

Yzerman was a Right hander .

  3. With their schedule, I would have been happy with 6 points in their first 6 games. They now have 8 points in 5 games. Take care of Edmonton, then 5 of next 6 are on the road. Another test, but with weaker teams. Don't let up. Bank some points. We know we'll need them. LGRW!!!

  4. Now THAT'S the John Gibson we thought we were getting. To keep the 2 FLA teams to one goal apiece means this team has turned the corner defensively. Now let's get Razor back and get ready for McDavid.

  5. damn great game.

    I AM A CANADIAN,QUEBECERS ! Cheering LGRW since 1976.
John Gibson you did a freaking great job.
WELCOME TO THE CLUB ALEX SANDIN ! great goal

  6. Detroit Red Wings is now my favorite hockey team because Detroit, Michigan makes me think of Iran 🇮🇷 because of comic book characters Spawn and Astaroth in Soul Calibur.

Hope Detroit can eliminate Toronto and Florida from the Altantic division.

Hope to see Detroit become Stanley Cup Champions again like 2008.
