been showing you got a lot more offense I think than what’s been perceived. What’s going on with you offensively to do season? Uh great summer. I had a great summer. Uh just blocking in on what I got to lock in on. Last year I showed I can shoot at a high clip around like the uh close to 40. So just trying to build on that last year and just keep on going up with my jump shot. Is it the trip to China for you? What was that experience like for you? Amazing opportunity. Uh that was actually besides Mexico City and Toronto. That’s my first time like out of Yeah. out. So just having that experience was just amazing. See the views and stuff like that, but also to play basketball over there. Uh I mean, you can’t beat that, especially in that environment. It was very special and uh I’ll always remember it. So definitely a good trip for me. Another thing I had was just you guys winning the possession game by forcing the turnovers. How much does that feed into what you are as a player that that’s the the whole motive? Go pressure the ball, force turnovers, let’s get extra shots. That’s my game. I feel like just uh going out there making it hard. Uh just put pressure on the ball. Put pressure off the ball. Just try to make the whoever I’m guarding uncomfortable. Uh and luckily it’s about 14 other guys that’s right behind me that do the same thing. And uh I think JL did a good job of having us buy into that. Uh, so that’s kind of the culture we’re trying to build here and everybody’s buying in with last night. How much of that was just competing against guys, you know, and at the same time like the old like revenge game as it’s called. How what was the balance there for you with what last night was? Uh, might go out there and compete every game. So I guess all my games be revenge game no matter who it is. Uh, but it’s always good to uh to see familiar faces and things like that. Uh, especially when you have like good relationship with those guys actually playing with them last year. So uh, it was fun. It was actually fun to see him uh see him out there and actually playing against him again. When you met with BG um in the offseason, he told you like that this is all about like hustle, grit, the identity that we’re forming or was that just music for two years when you heard that? Yeah, that’s perfect. Uh when I heard that, I knew I could fit in. Uh when I felt when you said it was the culture, I knew that’s that’s just me. So, what stood out what stood out to you just about Kaman’s performance last night? Uh, I just like how like his energy, his presence, uh, and for a rookie talks a lot. Uh, and he understands what he’s saying. That’s a big thing. But, uh, just I feel like he did a good job with Aiden last night. Definitely. Uh, he’s going to be really good. Really good. Uh, but it’s just his mindset, the approach he takes every day. I mean, he’s a kid, but like he like he come in act like a kid, but when it’s time to work, he’s locked in. Coach said too last night that he feels that his voice is a skill, talking is a skill. How much do you feel that with him mentioning he’s young, but it’s surprising quite a few of the teammates? Yeah. Uh he he actually he sings a lot. I don’t know if y’all know that. Uh yeah, he’s like a he’s like a he’s like a music box. So like literally every day he’s probably singing a different song every single day. So I think that just translate over to the court. So, uh, I mean the communication is high, but for him to do it like first year and understand like what he’s saying, I mean that’s huge. What songs has he every song? Any genre? Like I didn’t heard him sing country, rap, R&B, every day. You think by Kiss? He probably know some Kiss. He might. I won’t put it past him. Is he Is he good singer? [Music] Curious. He all right. He’s all right. He probably got to find his song. We We should make him sing for He’ll sing for us. He will. When you when you were a rookie defender, I’m curious because you pride yourself on like defense not only but like physical defense and that. What was the balance for you in figuring out what the refs were going to like let you do? Because you can see Rashier last night like he wanted to be everywhere but he knows like if he if he bumps the wrong way for a second, he’s going to get a foul. Yeah. Just understanding when the uh who you’re guarding uh you got to pick and choose your battles. Uh especially like rookie year like you gonna get those calls calls on you just off the strength of you being a rookie. Like that’s that’s like that’s just realistic. But it’s all like just picking just picking and shooting your spots and like the more physical you get, the more you talk to referees, the more you let you get away with it. So I think that’s kind of where I’m at now. I can think I get away with a lot of aggressiveness. Jordan, I’m curious for you. Uh obviously being someone that’s known for their defense when you look at how you guys are defending, it’s not always staying directly in front of your man. Sometimes you kind of funnel him to influence him. What kind of goes into the technique of going from guarding your yard to trying to steer the wheel and influence them towards the field? Uh that’s just our rotations. We put them like we put we put those installs in very early. Uh and like I said, communication with our bigs are high levels to tell the guards to veer back and things like that. But I think that’s just from day one of training camp just getting those installments in and our rotations. And I think we like I said, we just locked in on that side of the ball right now. When you have a goal like you did this summer to kind of attack it offensively, what does a night like last night do to kind of confirm the work that you put in? Uh just just confidence just keep my confidence going. Just showing the work just paying off. Uh I had last my last last summer was okay. Uh showed it on the season, but I knew if I go a little harder this summer, I’ll get a better result. So I think that’s just like it’s showing right now. So, any specifics like number of shots you put up a day or what was the um not any number of shots just just being in the gym consistently? Uh also being in the weight room and just seeing that ball go through the net. So that’s all my workouts I was just knocking down shots. So Jordan, we also saw last year you were on the court with LeBron screening for them. What did you kind of learn as a guard doing more screening on the ball in a kind of unnatural way? uh that you gonna be open when you especially when you playing with guys like you said Bronn uh Luca even here like with Jaylen Green Deon Booker like they going to have the best defender on the other guys probably going to be a weak defender on me so I just roll right there behind them and I get to make the play and like you say you got guys they unselfish to pass the ball so just basically just got myself open and just been able to make a playmaker out of it. How you kind of make that decision between like a post or pop versus kind of Uh it it all depends on personnel type. I think everybody on the team know I’m bigger. I’m kind of a roller most of the time. I really don’t like popping unless I really have to. So for me, I just like to roll. Uh but it’s kind of just a feel for it. Thanks, Jordan. Appreciate y’all.
