49ers’ Deommodore Lenoir reacts to Fred Warner’s season-ending ankle injury | NBC Sports Bay Area

your reaction when you saw Fred go down? Um, my honest reaction was I was hurt, you know, just to see a guy, you know, one of our captains, our leaders go down with a with an injury like that, you know. Um, just the guy coming, you know, work every day, ready to work, you know, um, one of the most intensive players on the team. Um, a naturalb born leader, I would say. How do you feel his absence impacted the defense the rest of the game? Uh, you know, with a guy like that, um, a very special player, you know, um, it’s kind of tough to replace, but, you know, the mindset going to always be, you know, the next man, the next man up. So, you know, just in his words, you know, we got to keep fighting and keep scratching, you know, cuz nobody going to lay down for us. So, that’s just, you know, what it is. You’ve talked a lot about as a leader, be more of a leader. Without Nick, without Fred, you’re kind of the last of the three guys who started first. Does that feel take on even more importance now, do you feel? Um, that was kind of my goal this season, you know, just to be a leader. Um, obviously, you know, Pro Bowl, all pro and all that, but you know, one of my goals was to be a leader. And you know, I’m in a bigger spotlight now, you know, now that Fred is down, Bos is down, you know, so I mean, I got to be, you know, that guy. You know, you said that in Fred’s words, you had to keep fighting. Is that what he said to you guys after the game in Yeah, just just to sum it up, you know, um just next man up, you know, don’t worry about him. You know, he going he going to be back and stronger than ever, you know, but just keep fighting for him. When he was going off on the cart, he seemed like he was still encouraging you guys and everything. What what was that like? What what would you be saying everybody kind of went up to? Uh just know just keep going, you know, keep fighting, you know, don’t give up. You know, the game’s still close. You know, the game is still we we we still able to win the game. So, just just keep fighting. How was yours out there? Oh, yeah. He was he was doing good. You know, he did as much as he could, you know, with him not being able to play position because, you know, obviously Fred is there uh just to come in and just plug and play. You know, I felt like he did pretty good. What made their offense so effective today? Uh really they just, you know, took it took advantage of, you know, where one of our guys was missing and, you know, they made some great plays and and they capitalized.

  1. I mean he a dog but, there isn’t another Fred. Not only on this team as a leader but, there’s maybe 1 or 2 in the whole league that could be what he is for this team. He’s a hofmer. One of the best in the last 25 yrs. I’m devastated as a fan. I can’t even imagine as a teammate. I love my team but I can’t believe I love the player more

  2. Honestly I've lost a lot of excitement to watch my team even play this year. So many injuries already and I'm sure many more to come. At the end of the year we're probably going to be left with 3rd and 4th stringers. We pay our QB big money excited to watch them play and he's been hurt for most of the season. I would just like one year Just one year with the amount of injuries they normal team has.
