Patriots-Titans preview: Can Kyle Williams get involved in Vrabel revenge game?

From Phil Perry:
The Patriots know they have a quarterback who can launch footballs like javelins all over the field. And they’ve had a variety of pass-catchers come up with big plays on the receiving end of those heaves: Stefon Diggs, Kayshon Boutte and DeMario Douglas.
But could they get something in that regard from rookie Kyle Williams? The third-rounder saw three targets last week in New Orleans — one of which was wiped off the board due to a pass interference call — but has the speed to threaten corners and safeties deep.
When asked about Williams this week, offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels praised the wideout’s ability to be moved all over the formation. Not an easy task in an offense that has in the past been described as complex.
“What we’ve done is look at the things we’re doing when the ball doesn’t come to you — are you doing the right things? A lot of the times, he is,” McDaniels said. “Like I keep saying, I feel like a broken record, the ball hasn’t quite found him on certain things yet, but if it does, then I think we’ll see what that looks like.”
… Against a Titans team that has struggled against big-play wideouts at times this year, perhaps this is the week for Williams to make a dent for the Patriots offense.
This is why I’m really hoping we don’t end up trading for another WR (unless it’s this offseason for a bonafide no.1).
Let’s see how these guys develop on offense. Maybe bring in another edge rusher that available, and a depth back. Outside chance we can get a vet LG .. I feel crazy for saying this but i feel Maye is doing great with the WR group we have. With Boutte, Douglas and Williams all being young players I want to see how they continue to develop.
Williams was a miss, and that’s ok. We cant hit in all our picks
ehh…
Williams cant earn snaps in this wide receiving room, im not optimistic that hes an answer.
id love for him to be good, but he didnt stand out in preseason and isnt getting snaps now
Williams has been open a number of times in almost every game this season. His speed downfield has opened a lot of the underneath stuff for other guys. Maye just hasn’t been able to find him sometimes. He’ll get there though.
I’ve been skeptical about Vrabel and Josh McDaniels. They have just needed to prove it on the field with the guys here without everyone glazing them for what they did in previous circumstances, but I’m shocked to read this coming from a Josh McDaniels offense:
>”We always have them called,” Maye said of his recent use of the deep ball. “It’s just me letting them go, or the defense not giving it to us. I think that’s really how deep shots work. We’re trying to get a look and trying to get 1-on-1. We say 1-on-1 is open in this league, so give each guy their chance 1-on-1 downfield.
Mcdaniels seems to be optimistic so yall doubters can chill the fuck out
Based on what we’ve seen so far… probably not. He looks like he’s pretty far away from being a contributor and they even started to give Pop those deep routes he would normally get.
I’m more concerned about Pop maintaining his good play than Willams getting involved. Willams time will come
going to be tough for him to take meaningful snaps away from boutte and diggs who are both playing really really well.
injuries happen, under performers happen, Kyle will get more comfortable with what Drake and Josh want him to do, only person with speed on this offense, I trust Kyle but we are top 10 in almost all metrics for passing offense, when we stumble or when injuries happen Kyle will be ready to make an impact.
