  1. We may have missed the dinosaurs and come too early for aliens, but we were born in the era of Shohei Ohtani. And that alone makes this generation special.

  2. You know, ever since the last WBC, it really feels like baseball's getting more popular. TV ratings and attendance in the U.S. have shot up, and you’re seeing way more young people getting into it. And that’s not even counting fans from Japan, Taiwan, or anywhere in Asia—so yeah, I’d say that’s a pretty good sign.

  3. Today featured a lot of great plays.
Well, sure, it'll definitely be remembered as a day for one man who made history, but there was also excellent pitching, hitting, and defense from other players, and both games were a real joy to watch.

  6. When he hits three homers in one game, the impact of Ohtani the hitter is so huge it almost makes people forget how good Ohtani the pitcher has been. Even if all those swings had been strikeouts and he’d only drawn walks, it still would’ve been a success, but it wouldn’t have topped what Snell and Yamamoto did.
    But man… 3 homers? Seriously…

  7. Ohtani's greatest performance of all time stole the spotlight, but the Mariners vs. Blue Jays game was also really enjoyable. It’s just that Ohtani was on another level
