Kevin Lankinen, Teddy Blueger & Adam Foote Post-Game Media | Canucks at Blackhawks (Oct 17, 2025)
Well, let’s start with the fact that you are feeling great, especially after that shootout. What went through your mind through that? Oh, we just wanted to get a win. Uh I kind of like shootouts where it’s a it’s a battle mindset, one against one and uh just been doing a lot of that in practice and thankfully we were able to to put one in tonight. What’ you see from your team in front of you through the game as well? Yeah, we got better as the game went on. Um, a little slow start, but uh, got to admit it was a little tough tough travel uh, back to back and with with with some long travel. So, I was proud of how the the guys came in and and battled till the end and then uh, grabbed the win. Why do you think you’re so good at I know I’ve asked you this before, but why are you so good at shootouts? Just practice preparation. U,, that’s all I can really say. I love I love practicing and and uh, it’s like I said, it’s the one-on-one mindset. You kind of are able to step up for your teammates. So, I enjoy those moments. Is it a is it a simple thing like a process where you know it’s one-on-one? Maybe it’s not thinking about other things. Yeah, it’s a pretty unique situation in hockey cuz usually you you have 10 guys on the ice, but um yeah, it’s big though. These points matter. It’s it’s huge. And if we are able to collect a few of these along the way, that could make a big difference at the end. We know it’s been a while, but is it fun to win in this building? Oh, yeah. I love this building. I love this city. Uh so many great memories. So uh thankful for the years here, but uh I’m happy to be on this side. We’ll start with you make your return to the lineup. How it feel to get back out there with your teammates especially in a game like this. It was good. Uh always good to get back in. Um boys had a great game last game, so it’s nice to be a part of a win tonight. Uh obviously, you know, first couple shifts want to get your legs under you, but once again got going felt good. So it was good. What’ you see from your team tonight in this win that you guys hope to carry on and through this road trip? Yeah, I mean just uh resilience, kind of stick with it. I don’t think we played a very clean game. Um not probably could have had some better offensive zone time. Um not a lot of clean entries, I feel like, but kind of stuck with it. It wasn’t our best, but um two points is the most important thing. So, it was good. The two goals that you scored, you guys scored, those are the kind of goals you have to score in this league, aren’t they? Dirty goals kind of. Yeah, I mean power play got us a big one there. So, um that was nice. And then um beautiful goal five on five there off uh off that play. Phil the sass. So yeah, I mean that’s that’s that’s a nice play. I think we you know ideally we’d like to make some more clean plays like that throughout the course of the game but doesn’t always work like that. Second night of backto backs on the road. How proud of you of the effort tonight of all the guys. Yeah. Yeah. I think that’s you know travel has been you know like long and you know got in late last night so not ideal circumstances but everyone goes through that. So I think it’s important. Yeah. Like I said, wasn’t pretty, but um find a way to get it done in and tough circumstances and a lot of travel and time change and all that. So, I thought that was good. Two wins in a row now on this road trip. What do you think of your team in this one? Back first back to back. So, you don’t know what you’re going to get. Um, you know, it was a real heavy game in Dallas where I felt like first period of our legs when that happens. Sometimes takes a while to get into it and uh we made a little bit harder than we had to, but uh I like the way we uh you know kept going and came back again. Teddy Bluger makes his return to the lineup. What’ you see from him? I liked him. He was good. He uh was over pucks. He he didn’t try to do too much coming from uh injur back from an injury and you know not a lot of time. So uh he he gave us some good minutes. Find a way to play the whole game three on three. Well, I like the way we were smart on the three on three. Um, you know, we were you had that couple power plays at the end, so we had to manage our guys and their legs. So, the guys kept bringing it back to get some rest during the OT. You know, we did a good job, but uh Len did a hell of a job uh tonight holding it uh being down to. You had one guy score with a guy draped all over his back and then another one out in front. Those are the kind of goals you have to score in this league. I don’t know. I thought their goalie played well. I mean, I think you got to get to the net. You got get some dirty goals and dig for sure. Uh, you know, but it’ll I’d like to see us not not give teams two goals to start games. We’ll see see if we can something else can change. Can you say about Max Sass? I’m sorry if we’ve been asked this, but you know, a guy obviously was disappointed not to start here and he comes up and gets goals and maybe a little bit of energy to the team when you need it. Yeah, he gives us a lot of energy. He’s got speed and um he just does his job. Uh and he’s learning on the fly, too. He’s been reliable. Um and you know, some of those things which I haven’t seen a lot compared to preseason is he’s uh he’s managing uh the blue lines and when he’s F3, which is, you know, the last guy over top very well. And uh when you’re young like that, their whole line, the energy they bring, we can deal with some of the things that they have to learn on the fly. You have to play games to to get get some of those things and and address. So, I really like this game. I like that line. And they’re, you know, with all the power plays, they probably didn’t play the minutes they probably deserved, but uh they they’ll they’ll they’ll play some more minutes. Other than the fact you’d like it to finish more, did you have any any complaints about your power play tonight? Seemed to generate They had a lot going on. They had a lot going on. They were generating. I thought their goalie played really good for them, too. Uh I thought both goalies played well. Um you know, so they they they seem like they got something going. So, we’ll just stick with

Blankinen in the shootout!
I'm starting to feel a little hope
lankinen is a vampire
prove me wrong, very sharp, nice, transistional teeth
vampire teeth
Is there a chance that the Canucks slow starts this season is because they either don't have a system, or haven't gotten it down as of yet. So, they build up as they react to the game the opposing team is presenting.
Lank The Tank
Teddy has no accent. I can't get over that haha
It was embarrassing to be down 2-0 vs Blackhawks😭😭
Let's take a moment to think about how good our goal tenders are!
Great game again boys!!
Lank the Tank!
Lanks mentioned he loves practicing. Hopefully they get their own practice facility. I think it will make a big difference to the team as a whole.
Lankinen plays great game, definitely noticed Blueger difference between him and Raty. More pressure on PP would be nice. I mean they pass the puck around good but close in the box and get some wingers ready to shoot for one timer or clapper. I never seen the point of putting your top scorers on the point.
