Thought exercise: What are the chances (%) the Heat land a true superstar like Giannis or Jokic in Free Agency?

  1. I think the real question is how many superstars actually make it to free agency. Most superstars have to rely on trades to make the money work. One thing is for sure, the Heat are usually one step ahead of other teams when it comes to working the most of their salary cap without getting too deep in the tax. The apron has totally changed how teams are managing their salaries. If you are not a championship contender team, there is no reason to be above the second apron. That’s why you saw Boston shed back down under the apron when Tatum went down.

  2. Realistically you’re only going to sign B tier players in free agency now, superstars will be traded so they can get their supermax. Luka to the lakers was rigged by the nba and Dallas got Flagg for it, but outside of a miracle like that idk how we get Jokic or Giannis. I wish we would just accept to rebuild and go young.

  3. Can we stop planning for future free agent summers and worry about now please. That has not been working out well. Go the OKC route, get some decent picks and develop the young talent. If we land a big fish, great, but we look foolish continuing to look at future summers for big names.

  4. Probably a good reason why they’re shopping Tyler, also confused as though I Denver or Jokić would do this

  5. Zero chance. Stars not interested in playing for Heat and FO thinks it can win with average players.

  6. Maybe one day people will finally see through this bullshit they do every single year, maybe one day lol. Funniest franchise in the league

  7. Slim to none. They do not have the best trade offer, and no superstar is making to free agency anymore:)
