Ponto is able to make that save look easy. James is because he gets to the top of his crease. He cuts down his angles and then he can redirect it to safety. Quick feed down low. The Canadians gain possession along the wall. Battle along the board. Quick pass across to Dobson. Oh, and they can’t keep the puck in the zone. They’ll be forced to tag up. Here’s a short pass to Kulie. Montreal’s got possession of the puck. Oh, how did he come up with that stop? Montreal’s got control of it now here in the offensive end. And that puck leaves the zone. Moves it quickly over to Kulie. Montreal’s looking to break out of their own end. sends it deep inside the offensive zone. The Rangers have it now with some open space at center and that doesn’t go well. New York starts the puck against the half wall. Strong defensive effort. Shot to the wall. with the save. [Applause] Well, the goalender, he gets a big piece of this shot here, James. He’s got to make this save. Unfortunately, it trickles in. He’s not going to like it. He’ll want that one back. New York’s now up by two here in the second. They’ve really pushed the pace this entire game, James. It’s going to be a question as to whether they can really close it out. And their first few strides have been urgent. That tells me they’ve been prepared right from puck drop. We got a whistle offside to call. More than half the frame has been played here. The Rangers now lead by two. New York’s got a hold of the puck off the draw. Works it across to the frontier. Knocked away. Scooped up along the wall by the frontier. Puts it on net. Blocked in front. Quick feed to Doc. On the attack they come down the right wing. Montreal’s got a hold of it along the wall. Goender covers up and we’ll get a face off. Montbo’s compete level has been off the charts tonight here. James, if we look back at the number of desperation saves he’s had to make, he’s kept his team in this one. [Applause] New York’s lead here in the second period. A direct result of being the more aggressive team offensively and off the draw. They win possession. Grabbed along the boards by the friendier. Puck grabbed by Doc. Oh, and he steps up with the glove to stop that one. Just been a consistent presence in the Crease James. I mean, he’s made the stops he’s needed to, but his team’s playing extremely well, and that’s why they have a comfortable lead. See if we can pick up some momentum again here as a faceoff is ready to go. And off the draw, they’ll take possession. Tosses it to Edstrom. Knocks the puck down with a stick. Angles it over to New Hook. Broken up in the neutral zone by Carrick. Montreal’s got the puck from the left side. They enter the attacking zone. The Rangers gain possession. Tries to feed it over to Edstrom. Here they come inside the neutral zone. Picked up by Radish to the blue line. Oh, one of his teammates was right in the shooting lane there. The Canadians will play for the defensive zone. Montreal’s got it along the wall. New York’s got a hold of the puck now. The Rangers will play it in their own end. Great stick work with the steel. Puck sent over to Evans. Makes a move in front. Great save. It’s a straight up race for the puck. Montreal’s got control of it now from their own end. Koulie’s got a hold of the puck behind his own cage. A game of he puts it off the outside of the post. The Rangers are trying to put the game away, but unfortunately that one hits the post and comes out. And this is a tough one to take. You have the lead. You want to extend it. And you certainly don’t want to give any life to your opponent. Side steps the big time stop. Well, the shooter’s in a coveted spot on the ice right in the middle of it with a good look and he makes an incredible save by getting square to the puck and turning it aside. And that’s blocked in traffic. Fox has got it on the offensive end. Montreal’s got it in their own zone. Slides the pass over to Cfield. Sends it to the middle that cars off a twig in front of the net. Stopped by the goalender. Passes it to Sabinhad and he loses possession to the puck after trying to make one too many moves. The Vanagads tried a great move there. We all know what great hands he is in tight trying to create some space, but it bobbles off his stick and he lost possession. Well, this is a timely hit here, James. He knows they’re down. They’re trailing in this one, but they are not out of it. So, if everyone can elicit some sort of response on their next shift, they can rally the troops and they can get back in this thing. Past the midway mark in this period, the Rangers have some breathing room as they lead by a pair. It’s 4-2. Quick pass to Troche. can’t keep a hold of the puck after that play and it doesn’t reach the net cuz it goes off a stick. Cos it up on the play. Puck scooped up by Snider. He says, “Let’s get physical on that play.” And fin. And now it’s grab by and tries to make a dangle pass to the right there. And that goes off the player along the right side into the offensive zone. Can’t connect. That’s just textbook positioning to break up the play. Well, that play didn’t go his way, James. He tried a little bit too much there. I mean, you’re trailing the game. I get you want to try and do a little bit extra and try and create some offense, but unfortunately that didn’t work out. From the open ice, they gain the line. Slides a diagonally to the airier. The Canadians scoop it up along the boards. Ducks got him along the wing. Denies him on a sl blows the whistle as the puck’s covered up. Officials have got both teams ready and it looks like play is set to resume here. Montreal’s won the faceoff. Gets the tip. Scores. And just like that, they take that away. That’s a huge shift. I mean, listen, your opponent scores and instead of allowing them to build the confidence on it, they stomp it out right away. That’s exactly what you want to do if you want to be a competitive team. on a deflected shot. Everyone always talks about the stick positioning. How about the timing to get to the slot area as well and the ability to just tap it down and redirect it. Montreal’s found some offense and now they suddenly have made this game a lot more interesting here in the second. And they changed the momentum. You can see it in the body language, in the confidence. They’ve got themselves within striking distance of an even game. Here’s the authority. New York’s gain possession along the boards. Montreal’s got the puck in their own end. The Habs are on the attack. Taken by Miller, picked up along the wall by Kulie sticking off to the side. Gains the zone through the middle. Here’s a chance. Misses a golden opportunity there. Sometimes when you have the puck on your stick in a prime time scoring area, it’s not about threading the needle. And when you try and thread it, sometimes you miss. And that’s what happened there. New York’s gain possession. Sends the pass over. Miller’s picking up momentum through center. Quick shot. Oh, what a save in front. Shuts him down. And the sequence of saves. I love how strong he is in his set position here, James. You can see that he gets square to the shooter and that makes the second save easier. And he turned that one aside. So, let’s have a look at that last hit. I mean, that was absolutely huge, James. You know that this is a momentum changer. You can see the bench erupt with that one just here in the late stages of this frame. The Rangers lead it 4-3. The Canadians win the draw. Now, let’s see what they can do with it. New York’s playing it through the neutral zone. Rose back in the play after grabbing a new stick from the bench. I man these things snap in half into the corner now. Denise him on the one-time. What a steal in his own end. Picked up along the boards by Brinski. Moves it to New Hook. gaining momentum up along the side from a tight angle on net. Answer the call on that play. The Rangers gain possession along the wall. Montreal’s got the puck inside the defensive zone. Tosses it on to Evans. Montreal’s got the puck along the wall. There’s another hit. And you get a sense that this was a game plan to go after him tonight here, Cheryl. Well, he certainly has a bullseye or target on his back. James, we’ll get a face off after the puck stays covered up. Well, I love what he’s trying to do here, James. He wants to separate the body from puck, and that’s exactly what you got to do. You got to play with a competitive edge and an intensity. The Canadians need to start finishing on some of these chances here as we are now late in the second. And they take possession after the defensive zone faceoff and he takes the feed. That’s just a great heads up read at center ice. Sent into the offensive zone and loses possession after a solid hit. Slides the puck to Hudson. Oh, they’ll be forced to start over from center as the puck leaves the zone. Fires it into the offensive zone. Quick pass across to Bulldog with authority. Can’t get a hold of that pass. Snider’s got the puck in his own zone. The Havs have it now. Read it perfectly and breaks up the play. Bumped off the puck. The Rangers have a hold of it in the defensive zone. Sends it in deep. Taken along the wall by Rish. Moves it over to Anderson. Loose puck and they’re off to the races. There’s the whistle. Icing the call. Big face off looming. Well, that’s how you get a puck, James. I mean, you recognize the timing it takes to meet your opponent right at the right time. And I mean, that’s just an explosive hit. Gets the job done. Here in the late goings of the period, the Rangers have just had a little more offense than their opponents tonight. They lead it 4-3. [Applause] They take possession as he locks him up off the face off. Here’s a short pass to Paneran. Gallagher’s got it in the defensive end down the left wing. Maintain the zone. Tuck grab by Anderson. And there’s the save. Tries to get it on to Troche into the offensive end now. Huge play in his own end to come up with the pop. Playing with confidence is one thing, but then you can be overconfident as well, James. Especially when you have a lead, you want to make sure you’re in good positioning to be able to backtrack and help out your defense. Carries it across the line from the back of the cage with the puck and that’s the big save by the goender watching that one. Love the way the goalender gets tight to the shooter here. The puck’s in the low slot. You want to take away time, you want to take space. Danger does it. Makes a save. Nice defensive robbery on that. And the middle frame almost done out front and he shuts down. A great scoring chance there. Is tracking the puck extremely well right now. Just have a look at that last save to be able to get in front of that puck to be able to keep it out of the net. Outstanding performance by him on that last one. The Canadians continue to trail here late in the second despite having more chances here tonight. The Rangers win that offensive zone face off. Turns that one away. Siege made by the goalie. There’s the whistle as the puck is frozen up. here in the later stages of this period. New York’s clinging to this 4-3 lead. Well, that’s one way to win the draw as he shaped away with the puck after the two centers were tied up. He got all of that one. Works it across to Miller. Poked away and forces the turnover at center. Gets control of the puck here in his own end. And now he tries to get it across to Sabinad. Montreal’s looking to break out of their own end. No quarter given here as they battle for the loose puck on the boards. Thompson’s taking it from his own end. Moves it quickly over to Bulg and that’s a great read to force the turnover. Takes a spill out of the ice and loses. Oh, what a save as he denies the He’s been under siege. loving his compete level. I mean, he’s making Oh, he needed to make that save with time. And there’s the horn bringing an end to period number two. Still 20 minutes more of action in the third. Stick around. If you’re a member of our rookie team, you’ll have the opportunity to have a couple player signs after the game. Teams are readying themselves at center ice rice as the third period is about to go. Here we go. Period number three is underway in what has been a goalie’s nightmare thus far. Mont’s going to hang on to the puck for a whistle. Evans has had multiple scoring chances and good looks in this game. Finally drops it. You can certainly tell that he’s happy about that one. I just love his game overall, though. He’s been dominating in terms of offensive numbers. Just the way he’s handled the puck, the way he’s just been a magician in and around the net to create his own space, and he finally gets rewarded for it. The Canadians need to get one back here as they trail early in this third period despite putting a lot of pucks on net. Here’s a change. Montreal’s won the defensive zone draw and now it’s over to Cfield. The Havs played along the wing. Turned aside with the gloa sten. [Applause] We’re still in the early stages of this period. New York’s got a onegoal lead here. They’re up 4-3. Croch won the draw deep in the defensive zone. Bruce center along the wing. The Habs has played the puck from behind the net. Montreal’s looking to break out. Slapovsky’s got it against the boards. Denies him on the one-time. Oh, what reaction. Shurken’s got the puck and he’s going to hang on. Officials getting ready to drop the puck. Puck possession so key in today’s game. Montreal’s won it. Now they’re going the attack. Fantastic save. A spirited battle along the lookout save. Face off coming up here and Cheryl. Let’s see if they can keep that momentum going. No question about it, James. We know where the momentum lies right now after some sustained pressure, heavy pressure, heavy for check, lots of shots going to the net. Fatigue. You want to make sure that you can continue to apply that pressure and see if you can keep. New York’s top possession of the puck. Moving the puck to his own zone. shot denied by Montreo. Covers it up and will get a stoppage in play. Montreal’s had plenty of good looks offensively, but they cannot convert. Trailing early in the third. Puck is dropped and he wins the draw here in the defensive zone. Battle along the wall. New York’s got it behind the net. has been tripped up and we got a penalty coming up here. Let’s see what the officials say. The Canadians will serve two minutes in the box. Well, when you’re looking for a goal, being short-handed is not ideal. You’re also killing valuable time where you can be pressing when you’re PKing. New York sending their power play unit out for the first time tonight. Well, everyone’s fresh as they come out for their first power play of the game. They’re going to have to find a way to really manipulate the defender as they move that puck around, but it will all start with winning the opening face off and they’ll get a free goalender covers it up. Evans is ready for the face off as they’ll continue to kill off this penalty. Montreal’s taking possession in their own end through center. Jumps it into the ozone. Slides it to Schneider inside his own end. Moves the puck. Passes it over. He scores off the pipe and bulging the twine. Well, it’s a game of inches, isn’t it? And this time those inches, they work in his favor. They go right into the net. I love the patience of this power play. It’s all about puck movement. And when you’re going to let a shot go, you want to make sure that there’s traffic net front. And that’s exactly what happens. The goalender screen and they find the back of the net. [Applause] New York’s taken a twogoal lead to jump out here in period number three. Well, and they’re in attack mode, aren’t they? I mean, this is just a different team to start this third period. Now, it’s about maintaining that control, that killer instinct, and trying to ride it to the finish line. Suzuki’s won the draw inside the neutral zone. And down he goes as the puck goes three. The Rangers cross the line and beat the zone and he throws it across to Slowski. Moves it around along the half wall. New York’s got a hold of the puck. Sends a pass over. Feeds the puck to Fox. The rages from playing against the wall. tease it off, denies him, and we get a whistle as the goalender decides to hang on to this one. Tries to get it to intercepts the pass. loses possession after he takes a little hit through the neutral zone moving the puck along the side [Applause] and that’s snapped away in the defensive end by oh he’s got all that what a save by oh what a save as he gets that one too a beauty save path there he’s really owning his crease on the attack along the boards picked up by personin [Applause] picking up scheme. New York’s moving it up the ice and He loses both the puck and his balance after that hit. The Rangers take it along the wall, grabs the puck, and now he angles it across to Gallagher. Long reach breaks up the momentum, handles the pass, shakes off the defender with some nifty moves. The Hawks gain possession, and that pass goes off a stick broken up at center by Paneran. keeps it over. Oh, how do they keep it out? What a block stop by Montego. And the defenders come up with the puck. Oh, look at this chance. The lane was plugged up and that shot’s blocked. Angles it over to Hudson. Oh, and he had that corner, but he puts it off the outside of the post. Montreal has been getting a ton of good looks and generating opportunities, but going off the post is getting some bad bounces, some unlucky ones. They’re going to have to create their own fortune. Evans moves the puck, takes the feed of center, moves up ahead. The Rangers slide the puck behind the net. Gabberov stick handling in his own zone. Dumps it in. The Rangers take possession in the defensive end. Working the puck deep inside their own end. Pass to Parson to the front. A chance from the slot. Oh, a clutch save. Does a great job with some great pushes to get to the top of his crease and make a save from a high danger area. And the puck stopper jumps on top of it to get a stoppage in play. Let’s have another look at that monster of a hit there, James. You got to love it. You have to have great timing and you got to know when your opponent’s vulnerable. [Applause] Centers get set as they’re ready to drop the puck again. [Applause] Great read by the way to take possession with the two center tied up along the half wall with the puck. Back to the point. set it up with the backhander scores and they run it back with another. Yeah, back to back goal. You can feel the energy, the wave, the momentum and the tides have turned here, James. They need to keep the pedal to the metal. Well, he’s right in the slot, that prime scoring area, and he corrals it on his backand. That’s a great play to get it off quickly. [Music] The Rangers are sending a clear message that they are not taking their foot off the gas in this third period here, Cheryl. Well, you can certainly tell that they bought into the game plan and the coach is certainly ecstatic with the performance of the entire bench. I mean, look at the way they’re moving and holding the puck, attacking the net at the right times. It has been a seamless effort. Sends it into the offensive zone. Picked up along the wall by Radish. Feeds it down low. Dishes it off. Save an upland. Buying one at that. The Rangers have looked sharp tonight. Lots of pucks on net and a lot of goals as a result. And a solid job tying up his opponent up along the wing. handles the puck. Julie’s team is flying out there, James. I mean, this is a blowout. He already has one. How many more is he going to get? New York’s got the puck and now it’s grabbed by Zabinad. Here’s a chance to get it out of their own end. And they still hang on to the puck after that failed clearing. And the gloves were dropped. Here we go. Well, anytime that a huge hit is a listen to James, you have to respond to it. You’re really sending a message when you stick up for your teammates and you find a way to send a message. And that’ll do it after that one. Got to know who you’re fighting. And he landed a perfect one right there and took him down. Sometimes when you’re getting blown out and you’re upset and you’re frustrated, you’re sending a message to your team as well. You’re sending a message like, “Hey, we got to finish this one strong. We got to send a message for the next time we meet.” They’ve got the debris all cleared up off the ice. And both teams step in for the face off. Oh, and he takes possession of the puck from off the wing with the centers all locked up there off the draw. [Music] play set to resume with the face off ready to go. News won the face off right now. Let’s see what they can do. Big time stop there. Here’s a short pass to Fox. The Rangers are across the line and into the offensive end. picked up along the boards by Paneric. Here’s a blast and that carries off one of his teammates in front. Forces the turnover in the defensive zone. Streaking through center, they go on the attack. From the points to make something happen. Shurkens got the puck and hangs on for a whistle here in this third period. Well, he’s been outstanding all game, James. He’s a reason why his team is leading in this one. and Alex with a good decision to get the face off. Crochs won the face off. Tries to get the puck to Paneran. Musa quickly over to the air and he stamps that one with the foul. There’s the whistle as the goalie hangs on. [Applause] The Havs win the defensive zone. Face off. All alone and stuck in the corner. Well, on the back where it’s all about the first fake and he does a great job there, but goender doesn’t bite as a result. Makes a save. Slides it on over to Evans. Gets the puck in deep. The Rangers have it now. handles the puck in the middle and that shot dies in traffic. New York’s got the puck in the defensive end. Oh, a good textbook hit there. Tries to feed it over to Cfield. Great extension on his part to poke it away. The Rangers swim it in and a little body contact on that play. We got a whistle as the puck’s frozen. Cirkin’s last save was outstanding. He knew exactly where that puck was going to go. That’s anticipation at its finest to be able to get to the right spot, know where that puck is coming from, and make a highgrade a save. [Applause] Moments away from the face off. Let’s get back to the action. [Applause] [Music] The Rangers take possession off the baseline and that carries off a body in traffic. Puck grabbed by Susi. The Rangers will play it from the defensive zone. Quick feed to Perau. Montreal’s got the puck along the boards. Scooped up along the wall by Nuha. Quick shot scores. They strike again. And that’s three unanswered goals over and over and over again, James. And you can see the excitement on the bench. They know that they’ve deflated and they push their opponent back on their heels. They need to keep plugging away here and not get complacent. Coaches are always looking at underlying numbers like kills or keeping plays alive. Well, this is a great example of keeping a play alive. And when you have a defender on your tail, you got to read the play under pressure. You got to see it in layers. So, it’s twofold here. Not only does he win the battle, but he makes the play that leads to the goal. The Rangers continue to ring up the score here in period number three. Well, it’s just been a terrific collective effort. Now they’re on the home stretch, and the coaching staff has a real opportunity to utilize their bench, rest their star players, and this is critical when you’re in a long season. John through the neutral zone and into the offensive end. He scores. The big man delivers again. [Music] A big defensive breakdown leads to this opportunity and he makes the most of it with a teed up shot. It’s a one-time. He hammers it home. Montreal’s recognized that they’re not going to play run time here, so at least try to make it respectable. Respectable and they can finish with physicality and that’s something that the staff will be telling them. Also look for everyone to be jumping into the attack trying to get some pressure on their opponent and get some much needed goals. Kicks it away from the crease. What a steal and his own in. Game management is everything and you have to be aware of exactly what that is and you can’t take risks in a game where you’re leading. You have to find a way to protect the lead. Officials getting ready to drop the puck to get play back underway. And they win the draw here in their own end. The Rangers move the puck in the defensive zone. Gets the full use of his stick on the poke check. Quick pass to Suzuki. Cfield’s going to play it against the half wall. Big time stop. The Circuits made a great save and even better is the redirect to the corner. And that takes guts to get in front of that one. Looks like we got a penalty coming up here. Looks to get the puck over to Susi. The goalender is quickly off to his bench to get the extra attack out. Slides across. There’s the whistle. And here’s the call. The Habs will be forced to serve two minutes for crosschecking. Being down by a bunch of goals and then you get running around with frustration and out of control and that’s the reason why you took a penalty. Another power play opportunity coming up here as they set up in the face off. Well, this is a power play that’s in rhythm and looking very confident right now. having a soft pulse and you can certainly sense it the way they’re moving their feet and their pass execution. Puck is frozen and we’ll get a face off. Kane’s puck possession has been outstanding tonight and anytime he’s had the puck on his stick, he’s made things happen and that’s a sign of a great hockey player because it’s also a sign of good IQ. He knows how to scan. He knows how to process. He takes what’s given in terms of distribution but also not afraid to shoot the puck. I love the layers to his game, James. a reason he’s got multiple points tonight. Special teams so important. Can they capitalize on this power play here with a face off? [Applause] The Rangers will go to work here in the offensive zone. The Canadians gain control of the puck and that pass is redirected. Takes the puck as the clock ticks down on the penalty kill. Sends it in on the attack. New York’s got the puck. Well, this game is wild, James. End to end action. Let’s just forget the defense, shall we? And just go with the goal calls. Moves it to Evans. Here’s a chance. Plus save. Goender hangs on for the whistle. Gallagher’s gliding in for the face off as this penalty kill will continue. Good read by the winger as the two centers tie up. Here’s a short pass to Kulie. Nice play short-handed as they get control of the puck. slides it diagonally to Puli. Smart pass up play to intercept the pass. Grabbed along the boards by Britzinski. Montreal’s got the puck along the wall. They put the puck into the offensive end. The Rangers look to start the transition game. Quick pass across Kulie. Solid hit on the play and that knocks the puck off his stick. Put down the ice. will get an icing. Nachos and cheese. Suzuki’s recognizing they’re still short-handed here as they get ready for the faceoff. The Rangers come up with the defensive zone draw. Looks to pass it to Bronzinski. Here’s a shot. That’s glove by though. Well, this is just a great save from the slot area. I mean, he recognizes where that puck’s going. He gives the top of the net, but he takes it away. Miller’s looking to win this draw on this man advantage here. And they win the offensive zone face off. Now, let’s see if they can capitalize. Montreal is going to be able to kill a few seconds off now with the puck. Looking to make something happen in the offensive zone. picked up along the wall by Anderson and he takes the pass. Sends it over to Paneran from the right side and up the middle and he gets in front of that one. Well, he didn’t flamingo there and if you want to be on a PK, you got to make sure that you get to those shooting lanes hard and fast. New York’s got a hold of it against the wall with a comfortable lead. Jen, some would say that that power play really wasn’t a big deal, but I would say different. It’s really important that you push, you continue to work on your habits because the timing could be different next time. New York’s got it in their own zone. Rocksom right up Main Street and on the attack. Takes a shot. Oh, and he gets a piece of the puck to deny them there. Centers glide into the dots. We’re ready to get things back going again. Montreal’s got possession here on their own end. Pushes it across for Suzuki. Grabs control of it at the point. New York’s looking to break out of their own end. And a great save. That’s a fantastic save by the goalender, but his team has to do a better job of protecting the middle of the ice. Those high danger scoring chances eventually go in. And he’s knocked off the puck there. Takes a shot. Too many bodies in the way. Picked up along the boards by Cfield. Cuz he’s into the offensive zone now on the attack. And the intensity start to ramp up here after that hit. Troche’s got the puck. Fires it on net. Blocked in traffic. Passes ahead from the right side. Confidence’s got it along the wing from behind the net. And there’s the save. There’s another stop. Well, you know that he’s a fierce competitor and he battled to make consecutive saves there, James. Montreal’s been very active offensively tonight, but they just have not been able to finish on their scoring chances here late in the third. Good job tangling up the barn here. Perez landing the puck. Battle and Ser loose pump on the boards. The Rangers gain possession. New York’s regain possession of the puck. Moves it quickly over to Susi. Moves the puck on the half wall and the goator comes up with a piece of it to keep it out of the net. Feeds the puck across to Ker. Quick feed to do. Got it. Right up and cut into the attacking zone. Great defensive effort with the stick shot and he gets in front of that rocket and the goalie covers up for the whistle. [Applause] And we’re moments away from getting back underway here with the puck drop. Montreal’s won the draw now. Let’s see what they can do with it. Picked up by Schneider. Strut along the boards. Montreal’s got a hold of it along the wall. Oh, he stopped it. How did he do that? I have no idea, James. I don’t even know how he tracked the puck, let alone got to it. I mean, unbelievable. His team have got to find a way to rebound off of that one. Unbelievable save. Oh, we’re going to have to check that one out again. It was just spectacular, James. When you’re out competing your opponent, you’re dialed in. You’re so athletic. You make those kind of saves. [Music] [Applause] Montreal’s won the draw inside the offensive zone. Reaches out and uses the stick. Takes the feed. Here he is on the back hand. Shots him down. It’s amazing to me how he always looks like he’s in the right position because he tracks and reads the play so well. And this time he gets in front of the puck that’s right in the middle of the ice as the shooter’s got a dangerous opportunity from his own end. moves it up ahead. Scooped up along the wall by Suzuki. Puck scooped up by Vakan. New York’s moving it along the wing and tries to make a diagonal pass to Edstrom. Fires scores. Deuces Wild as that’s his second of the game. Well, he’s got two tallies on the score sheet, James, but I love this game off the puck as well. I think that he’s had a hard nose on the for check. He’s hounded it. He’s hunted it. And guess what? He’s been rewarded for his efforts. Well, there’s not much time here before the goalender’s eyes are taken away, James. And he drops into that butterfly position. All you want to do when you can’t see the puck is make yourself as big as possible. But this one has seeing eyes through traffic and finds the back of the net. The Rangers are having themselves a night. They probably don’t want this one to end. Pounder. Yeah, I wouldn’t if you’re patting the stats and you’re putting up these kind of numbers. I mean, from start to finish, they’ve imposed their will on their opponent. And now he tries to get it across to Kapan. Tipped away by Here he is with the backhander. Big time stop there. I love the willingness to drive north on this and beat your opponent to the space in behind. And that’s exactly what he does by a great body position. Just look at his legs and the wide base to be able to get in there and get that shot off. up along the wall on the right side and into the attacking area. Shurkens going to give everyone a chance to breathe and hang on to the puck. [Applause] Montreal’s been leading in the shot department most of the night, but they continue to trail here late in the third. The Rangers win it in the defensive zone. Quick pass to the finish right up the gut into the offensive end. It’s a shot turned aside with the glove by Munchbo. Centers are set. Face off ready to resume play. Nice job tying up his opponent. The Habs take it along the wall and they’ll battle for that loose puck along the boards. Grabbed along the boards by Kulie. Broken up at center by Cfield. Montreal’s got it across the line. Here’s the chance. Sends it in front. What a move. There’s the whistle. We get a face off after the goalie covers up. offenses don’t face off and he wins the draw. The Habs take over on possession. Gaining speed through center and here they come on the attack. Stopped by the goender getting a piece of that one. Oh, and look who gets rocked once again. Well, he’s a target now, James, because he’s got a lack of spatial awareness. You got to keep your head up if you want to play this game and be safe in it. Scoops up the puck here. Moves it to do. Montreal’s got the puck against the boards. Good. He got all of it. Picked up along the wall by Perau. Taken by Presidentin. This oneided affair finally nearing the end. The Rangers have it now. avoids the poke check, throws it in. Montreal’s got a hold of the puck now. Just a little too much contact and couldn’t hang on to the puck. Here’s a short pass to New York’s gain possession along the boards. Oh, some strong physicality on the play. Staring pass in front. What a shot, but he can’t connect. Quick bean down low. Here’s an opportunity in front of the net. Montreal’s got possession of the puck. Here’s a shot. There’s the final horn sounding, putting this baby to rest. Cheryl, this is one of those nights where they put the special in special teams. Specialty teams were the difference.
