NHL Highlights | Islanders vs. Senators | October 18, 2025
Islanders coming off a win over Edmonson on
Thursday night. Ottawa defeated Seattle in a shootout the same night. Fired back down to the
Islanders zone. Ryan Pico is back nice and tall. Going to be a special player. Can get better with
more. Ryan Pulong shot that stop by Mark. Rebound Pu turned away. What a stop by Mark. They should
because Lenus Allar makes a 10 bell save right in front. Bouncing puck. It goes right back door
as Lee puts it on a T for Pel. He can’t believe it. That’s a wide open end. It’s going in and
he drags it with the heel of his stick off the goal line. Second effort. Gets a little help from
Spence. Another chance for pinchables and shoots and looking at the tip of his glove on it. Pass
for Peron. Back it goes to Siobhan for Calv who’s got the great shot. Sending pass for Pins. He
hammered that wide. Pel gets bumped there by Pon. Kalv plays it back for Siobhan. Final seconds
of this power play. Orange shot by scores. Stuck it by Soka. The power play goal gives
Ottawa a one- nothing lead. Kalab was right there as well. Calab back to the point and works
his way to the front of the net. Varon’s going to turn and fire it short side. Sroken gets
a chunk of it with the blocker, but it drops down five hole and wolves into the net. Debbot
takes middle ice. That creates the lane for Patterson. Back across to Shiobot.
Six on five now for Ottawa. Pinto. Lays that back for Path. The Pinto winds it
shoot. Scores. Shane Pinto remains redot. fires it home for his seventh of the year. Unstoppable. The extra man out there working around.
They’re looking for the shot that they want. Pinto looking for a lane going to
saucer pass back to Batson. And then the one-time. That’s a tough angle. It’s a far ways
out for Pinter, but he’s got the hot stick. He’s able to wire this past Sroken on the glove
side now. Nick Jensen’s right there as well. Move back into Horvath on Jensen at the
line. Schaefer back across to Mayfield. Walks right in. Mayfield centers a
kicked up by Omar. Rebound score. Ammo Heidman snaps it home and the
Islanders are on the board down one. off the entry looking for options. Going
to get back to Schaefer. He’s going to distribute the puck wide and the bath battling
in front. Shabbat as well. Bath knocks Heinman down and he actually spins around, gets up
and gets the the rebound through the scene. Mayfield looking for the initial back door
play for Drewanne. board. The one thing you can point out from a systematic standpoint,
the forwards are too far ahead of the D here. That chance was all because they’ve left the
zone. And now Lee drops across a chance for Horvat scores as Bo Horvac continues his role
and ties the game at two. Just disconnected. You get in a neutral zone and the regroup from
the Islanders, you’re in position defensively. Corvette gets available from the back door, gets
lost in coverage. That’s the biggest challenge. You’ve got to change there. So now it’s a fiveon
four situation coming into your own zone. You’re late in the play if you’re Nick Cousins cuz he’s
got a jump and it ends up in the back of your net. Cousins for bath jumping in. Bes drops
that back to Jensen. High slot stires at home will regain the lead. Tremendous chances this season early on but Snake
bit but it’s good work by Drake Bath holding on that puck getting it over to Nick Jensen and then
Jensen finds Stutzler right down the middle of the ice. Heads up play by Jensen to find Stutla
and then he does the rest. Meeting Seroken and now Zelan. A hard bump there from Lee.
Back at the point is Schaffer. Banks it back down low for Shabanov. Max Shabonov spins and
shoots. Scores and Max Shabov little muster at the end of that. Curls his stick puts in
the holster and ties the game at three. Puck’s going to get back to Schaeer.
He’s going to go short side off the wall. Now you’re reaching for it, looking
for any type of opportunity. This, I think, hits Lee in front as well as the puck rattles
around. Cleven unable to clear Lee out who’s a big body. There’s Chris back with it. Lions all over
the place for Ottawa here in the second period. That was picked up by Stoa. Busting in
with Cousins. Adamio Staer walks right in, feeds a buck across. Cousins shoot scores.
Dylan Cousins and it’s four and three Ottawa. This all starts with a great back check here
by Tim Stutler. Turn that puck over. Head up the whole way. Takes me to ice and he’s going
to get it over to Cousins. Cousins does the rest far side inside the post. That seems to
be the spot on Sroen here this afternoon as Pinto beat him there. Stutzler beat him there
and now it’s still in Cousins the 4-3 lead. Back to Schaer. Got away from him and
a chance now for Pinto. Short-handed in comes Shane Pinto. Busting in. Pump check by
Schaer. Schaer takes him down. A penalty shot. Shane Pinto with a league leading seven
goals trying to make it eight in on Sroka. Pinto works in and he’s stopped by
Sroen and elevated just over the left pad. See the thought process but didn’t hit his spot. Up to Barcel but hit there by Zoo who
jumped up. Good strong side play there by Ardam Zoo to pinch down and limit
time and space for Barcel winds back in, drops his back. Pome shoot, scores. Cal Pal
ties the game at 46 minutes into the third period. Comes through. There’s Barcel getting
speed through the neutral zone. Outside, inside, balances the D and then middle drive. And as he
middle drives it, Paul Mary, here’s a great angle. goes right between the legs of Jake Sanderson
over the right pad of Lenus Almark in the net. A real strong play and then Mayfield comes over
on Calv. That snap Shaver sticking doesn’t have one. Long shot tips wide rebound. Oh, stop by
Sroa. Chance in front. Ottawa scored first for the first time this year. Led after two
for the first time this year, but finds itself at a 4-4 tie. Anders Lee with a steal.
works back in front, spins and shoots, scores. Anders Lee with a strip and
score and the Islanders lead for the first time with 103 to go in
the third. Defenseman back. He tries to be heavy on his stick and Lee gets
underneath the stick, overpowers them, and then waits a spinama power move that
goes underneath the right pad of Lena Smark. But a one battle and then a forceful forehand
by Anders Lee gives the Islanders a 5-4 lead with 63 seconds left. scrambles that
one and the New York Islanders erase an early deficit and two others
and come back and win it five to

This Is The Second Punic War: Carthage Is New York Islanders & Roman Republic Is Ottawa Senators (🇹🇳VS🇮🇹)
The Islanders Win Yes 🎉🐉
That Anders Lee goal is how I wish Nichushkin would play. Hope Ritchie works out for the Islanders.
is schaefer going to point in every game this season? 😉🤣
You can't really blame Ullmark for those goals.
Embarrassing by the refs to call a penalty shot. clearly got puck first
Was at this game, wild outcome islanders comeback
I think that might be the cleanest goal Lee has ever scored
