Jones, McCaffrey Focus on Growth After Loss in Week 6 | 49ers

Yeah, I mean I feel good. Um obviously didn’t play my best today and um just proud that we went out there and fought and it’s early in the year and uh everyone’s dealing with stuff so feel good. Just want to get out there and get back at practice so I can work on some things. are able to Yeah, for sure. I mean, prayers to Fred and his family and everything. I’m not sure exactly what happened, but you know, obviously looked pretty bad and Fred’s just our team captain and he’s been the leader of this team for a long time. So, um, really all you can do is just pray for him and, um, know that we have his back. I was disappointed that I didn’t play better for him today. You know, you really, sometimes that can, you know, create good play and it didn’t today. So, um, really just praying for him and I know he’s going to do a great job, you know, getting back. The first interception miscommunication. Yeah. Um, they just, it’s a heavy pressure team, so we have to just be more keyed in together. And KB and I, we have great connection and we just weren’t on the same page on that one. So, it’s on me. But, honestly, like we kept playing, so it is what it is. And just sucks that it was on the our side of the, you know, red zone or their side of the red zone. So, they scored quick. So, it puts a lot of stress on the defense. But, um, I mean, really just got to watch the tape and learn from it. And they had a good play called against against our play. It is what it is. Yeah. Um, I mean, to be honest, just we had a chance at the end. Um, and that’s what it comes down to in the NFL. Um, and it didn’t go our way today, but um, it just wasn’t our day. Um, and honestly, it’s early in the year. We’re not a bad football team and we just need to flip the switch and and get ready for next week and get some guys back and um be positive about it. Honestly, you came in with some injury issues. Yeah. How are you coming out of it? Good. Um nothing nothing serious and like I said, everyone’s dealing with stuff and I just really want to get back out there at practice and see what I can do better and um really just get ready for next week. Yeah. Yeah. Exactly. I mean, he didn’t have to play in this game and he chose to and he fought through some stuff and he’s a fighter and that’s the DNA of our team is is his personality. So, um really love him. Uh he did a good job and like I said, we just missed on a few things, but it wasn’t our day and um hopefully we have a lot of good days ahead. Um, I don’t know. I’ll have to watch it. I mean, I’ve gone against Todd Bulls a few times and whether it’s preseason or a really big game, he’s going to bring bring a different play on on every play. So, they did a good job. Um, they had our number today. But, um, like I said, there was a lot of things that we could have done better. I could have done better, um, to not be in those situations. So, um, he’s a good coach and just got to give credit where credit’s due. Thanks, man. All right. Appreciate it. Yeah, I mean that’s just it’s just heartbreaking, you know. I mean, it’s it’s such a weird game when you have to see somebody like that and what happened with Bosa, you know, earlier in the year and then just have to continue to play. Um it’s kind of a weird deal, but uh it’s heartbreaking. you know, he’s one of the best players I’ve ever played with and one of the best leaders um I’ve ever played with. And so, you know, it’s uh it’s heartbreaking. What’s up, Uh, you know, I think uh I don’t know. I think we’ll have to look at that tape. Um, you know, I’m always my my biggest critic and so we’ll see if it was a successful game or not, you know, but uh I think there’s, you know, probably some plays that I maybe want back, but um you know, I don’t I mean, I think look, I I work really hard, but at the end of the day, man, every time I’m able to step on that field, I’m very grateful. You I thank God for it cuz um you know, sometimes Yeah, you just when you’re able to play, it’s a blessing. It really is. I don’t take it for granted. Christian, are you encouraged by the fact that you guys are going to get some key offensive guys back pretty soon? Yeah, absolutely. I think, you know, that’s huge. Um, you know, just having more depth and having some guys come back with fresh energy, you know, it’s a big deal. That’s good. Thanks. Appreciate it, guys. [Music]

  1. Mac I think you did a great job considering you had to be the glue that held the offense together along with Christian McCaffrey everybody put their best effort forward… All the fans should notice that and appreciate that

  2. Whoever said this was gonna be a easy win obviously hasnt watched Tampa bay play, they are a tough team also dealing with injuries, the niners had a chance just the better backups won, go niners.

  3. Jones did what he could. I just think the Niners need to come up with new plays but hey it isn’t easy. Still love you all. ❤️💛

  4. Mann… Losing Bosa is one thing, but losing Fred 😭😭😭😭😭 I was confident in our season because of Fred but now…. 💔💛💔💛

  5. 9ers over the hill….they had their chance with 2 superbowl losses under Bananaman…..they won't get back to the big 1 for along time…..srry 9er fans

  6. Games over NINERS. It’s time to clean house from top to bottom. This team is not worthy to rule for. Too many unnecessary mistakes in all faces.

  7. Superbowl hopes are done, It was doable with fred warner here, but then without him its very slim, our defense is gonna go from one of the best in the league to out of top 15, I still have faith to make a superbowl run or a deep playoff run, but realistically probably won't make it past the divisional.

  8. Kyle should implement a two-back backfield, such as the I-formation or a split-back set, reminiscent of the system used with Ricky Watters and William Floyd. A two-back set will provide better pass-blocking protection for our quarterback, which is crucial given the current struggles of the offensive line. Also, the second back acts as a great lead blocker for the running back, improving the effectiveness of our rushing attack. Over time, a more respected running game will force NFL defenses to commit more players to the line of scrimmage, which will ultimately open up opportunities for our wide receivers downfield.

  9. Every loss should be on Shanahan and the Offensive Line coach for not addressing the OL since 2017. Injuries are to blamed on the strength and conditioning staffs that’s was brought in by Shanahan via the NHL not an NFL staffs. If 49ers have even a top 10 OL , Purdy and Mac Jones wouldn’t have to get sacks a lot.

  10. I wouldn't of been surprised if you told me we lost this game!? But if you told me, we lost Fred too?? I would of said, " Bullsh*t! You gotta be f*cking with me "! Right!???😞😥

  11. Chin up San Francisco 49ers! Prayers for Fred Warner and the rest of the players, coaches, front office and the faithful! Go NNNNIIIINNNNEEEERRRRSSSS♥️💛 GOD BLESS
