I said it last night. They’re going to get their opportunity against Priestster. Like they’re going to get that inning where it’s first and second no outs or it’s second and third one outs or bases loaded one outs or B, you know, a really big opportunity where Pat Hughes would say this is a turning point in this game and then they find that big hit or they find that home run with runners on base. They’ve hit a lot of home runs this postseason here. two in the first game of the of the wild card, none in the second, one in the third, and then three on Saturday. I mean, they’re hitting the ball out of the ballpark. And if you watched our pre pre-postseason episode, one of my biggest concerns was I’m scared of a power outage. I’m scared they’re not going to be able to knock the ball out of the ballpark. And a big reason they won that series is because they knocked the ball out of the ballpark. So, let’s see it again. When you out homer your opponents, you have a great chance to win. They got to keep doing that. But, you know, hitting five solo home runs compared to hitting couple three-run shots. Yeah, obviously a big difference, but I think they’re ready for the moment. And if you win tonight, you’re in a best of three going back to Chicago. And you have homefield advantage, too. So, I’m also just getting schlacked online these last few days. I’ve seen a lot of seen a lot of things of people potentially saying this could be Canana instead of Ashby and this is like a a 40 chess move by Pat Murphy. I still think it’s Priest, but I’m curious of your thoughts. Um, I mean, if they if they go with Canana, then I guess um it makes Craig Council look dumb for well, I in many in one side of the spectrum, you could say it looks dumb because Michael Bush isn’t in the lineup and you need that and need him in the lineup no matter what. But at the same time, like Justin Turner is a better hitter against left-handed pitching. So if they do go with Canana, what Turner’s gonna get two at bats instead of one, maybe three, and then you can still just put Bush in that spot whenever his next time comes around. Like, yeah, I would be surprised if it’s Canana. My opinion on this is like the worst case scenario just isn’t even that bad. Like the worst case scenario is like you just said, yeah, Turner gets the first at bat, they put in Canana like the second or third inning, and it’s like, all right, well, here here’s Bush or something like that. I know it’s not been great here in the second half or like the last month and a half and then tonight, but like when you look at like when he signed two years ago, like he was way better in that year one, he was a big part of them making the playoffs this year. It’s like you feel like you’re just like a few wins away from like really I mean I consider at this point you know if you win that first playoff series like I consider the NLDDS like a deep postseason run. I mean you didn’t get out in the first round. So I mean when you make a run then you get out. It’s like you felt like it took so long to get there. Yeah. And then it’s like even when in 2015 when the Cubs got swept by the Mets, I was like, “Dude, it’s going to be a full another year before you even get to like get close to this.” And time does move forward. But [ __ ] Yep. You still got to get there. But a lot of what you said too, man. It’s just there’s just always been that speculation after like three off seasonasons like, “Well, the Cubs don’t want to get in the lockout year, like whatever the hell it is.” And it’s just so annoying. Yeah. I’ll just be honest with you. I’m I don’t have a lot of optimism for the off seasonason. And I’m and I’m someone who who tries to have a little hope. There’s your Brewer ball. Yeah. They’re desperately going to need Matt Shaw to take that year two jump next year just like PCA did this year. Yeah, I think he can. Like that’s why we certainly shown to be a better hitter sooner than Pete did. Yeah. Like I think I I could see a world a very realistic world where he hits 25 home runs next year. Yeah. 30 feels like a a big jump, but 25 feels doable. So I would never have guessed PCA hitting 30 home runs this year. Yeah. Never would have guessed watching our the Cubs young players like the development and stuff over year year to year. It just in many ways it just makes me appreciate the 2016 team so much more because that lineup full of dudes who were all brought up at once that were a bunch of rookies. Like it’s you just haven’t seen anything like that since then. Mhm. Right. like it’s it’s absolutely insane. Yeah. And I think too I don’t think there’s a world where like the young guys we Well, I I take that back. I don’t like comparing like these two young cores because like the one team won a World Series. Like you you can’t Yeah, it’s tough to like draw a comparison. But Michael Bush has already topped like Anthony Rizzo’s career home run number. So like he has like the potential to be like your perennial middle of the order slugger. Yeah. Which I’ve been saying they needed. Yeah. PCA needs to take another step. Like we saw so much good but the second half still leaves like the huge question mark there. Yeah. But I mean there’s definitely a poss like there’s definitely a world where Biasos and Casey turn out like really really solid. I don’t know about Casey’s defense yet just because like he’s so shaky out there. But yeah, and Basos can’t play defense. So, it’s it’ll be interesting to see how they navigate that, dude. Cuz the two no trade clauses with Hap and and Seiya are going to really put a damper, I guess, on how you can fit Bisteros and Casey in there. But they both and Casey need to be playing. I I think they’re going to let Bisteros catch. I think they should at least give it a run. Yeah. Give it a run and just let let him lose it, you know?
