The Isles have the talent to be fine but they really need to start slowing things down and setting up their plays, take a page out of the Canadiens’ book. Montreal does a great job of controlling the tempo, cycling the puck, and waiting for quality chances instead of just firing it away.
The Isles, on the other hand, rush every possession like there’s a shot clock. They need to trust their structure, move the puck with purpose, and actually create something instead of forcing passes and hoping for a lucky bounce. If they could bring some of that Habs style patience into their game, they’d start winning more convincingly instead of nail biters late into the 3rd.
