I'm not watching Rams games (except for SF-LAR), but the numbers Matt's got seem insane from an outsider perspective, especially since the Rams are pretty much contenders in the NFC. All I'm saying is, he's got:

  • 1684 passing yards (almost 300 ypg)
  • 2 ints (tied for 2nd least interceptions thrown by a starter qb)
  • 12 td (top 5 itl)
  • 67% completion percentage
  • 4th best ratio of TD-INT

Like, these are insane numbers for a quarterback, especially one that has been in the league for so long, arguably being top 5, possibly being the second best quarterback in the league (though that might be somewhat of a reach), even with Puka, these numbers are crazy. But do they actually matter when in game?

  1. He’s been elite. If the kicking team doesn’t choke away two games the rams are undefeated and hes probably in the top 2/3 MVP conversation.

  2. He’s been great but has missed some wide open shots that have been very uncharacteristic. Something that I hope gets ironed out as he and Davante get used to each other.

  3. Yes. He’s just that good and sometimes floats under the radar because the last couple years he wasn’t dropping 45 TDs every year like some others. But if you watch him, you realize just how legitimate this dude is.

  4. He’s pretty damn good. Always feel like we are competitive with him. While completely immobile outside the pocket he makes some great throws and good reads in the offense. Gonna be a sad day when he’s gone.

  5. Hes been elite most of the season with a bit of hit or miss stuff. He relies too much on Puka imo but hard not too since its Puka.

  6. I think the answer is “yes, but…”

Yes, he’s good. Really good. He’s also been a bit off in a couple of games, making really weird misses. And also, in this day and age, the fact that he’s not a very mobile QB is what keeps him from being at the absolute top echelon of QBs.

All that being said, if it wasn’t for our dogshit kicking unit we’d be 4-1 or even 5-0 right now and no one would question whether he’s elite or not.

  7. He’s left a few throws off each game, and had some syncing issues with Adams… but he looks damn sharp overall.

  8. There are areas in our offense that I think have been weak, I don’t think Stafford is one of them. The numbers aren’t lying

  9. He’s been incredible, he just isn’t a crazy throw / highlight kind of QB anymore. He’s too old for that anymore, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. He always finds the right pass, has elite awareness of where exactly everyone is, and if his O-line is good enough on the day then he’ll be able to still do those crazy no-look passes. He’s still a Top-5 QB in the league in my book, and has a case for a Top-15 talent all time

  10. With as many throws as he’s inexplicably missed this season he should have even higher numbers. He’s left a few TDs and big plays on the field with Adams. I expect their chemistry will come as the second half of the season rolls around.

  11. we legit have a bottom tier o-line, him being able to get the ball out really quick, and be clutch for us has been a really massive saving grace. however id say great season though, not elite.

  12. What kind of answer do you think you’re going to get when you ask a bunch of Rams fans if they think Stafford is a good QB? Lol

  13. He might be missing some throws here and there but when the clocks hits final minutes of 4Q, he shows up and gives opportunity to win (best examples are, Philly game and 49ers game).
He hardly has been the reason Rams loose games ever since he entered the franchise. To me he’s Elite in 2025 too.

  14. Stafford has always been this good when he’s had a good team behind him – unfortunately for Stafford that’s only been about four of his 17 years

  15. He has literally always put up numbers that jump off the stat sheet. Even on horrible teams.
