I've been saying this for weeks. If they wanted him out there he would be out there. They're not saving him until later in the season. Why would they if the season is a wash?

  1. I really can’t believe we took him with that pick for him to be shelved for Rattler.

  2. I swear if they don’t play him I will never forgive this sub for telling me it was fine to take him at 40.

You could have had a real player who helps the team, and you took a dud.

  3. If we’re 1-9 at the bye week, we’ll see Shough. You need to know what you have after using a top 40 pick, and when you’re losing, why not throw him out there? Rattler’s been fine, but he’s not lighting it up out there

  4. Yall just have to view it differently. In the past 2 years we spent a 5th and 2nd and ended up with what seems like an NFL worthy starter on a rookie deal.

Rattler didn’t show enough last year to deserve the keys to the team so Shough was a safety pick. They obviously didn’t like any other qbs that went later or they would’ve waited for one of them. And they saw that Haener wasn’t a real option.

Yeah it would’ve been sweet to pick someone there for another one of our needs but Moore probably wanted to make sure we had a competent enough qb to implement his system and not waste a year with a dogshit qb which could cause the whole team to struggle playing in this new system.

  5. Weird. It’s almost like we shouldn’t have used such a high draft pick on him. When you use that kind of pick on a guy you almost have to play him and see what you got for the pick to not be a waste this year. But if you do you’re taking away valuable playing time for Rattler that he could use to continue to develop. While Rattler hasn’t been awful, I’m still convinced the quarterback of our future isn’t currently on the team

  6. Thank you! I’ve been saying this! Nick Underhill knows more about football than all of you!

  7. On the last episode, him and Trip discussed this for a good 10 minutes of the episode. I disagree with Nick and I’m on Trips side, who thinks they’ll play Shough. It’s not happening in the next couple of weeks but it would be outrageous for them and the fans to not see how their 2nd round pick does in a real life NFL game. This isn’t me dissing Rattler, I think he’s doing great, but they made this investment and they need to see what he can do.

  8. I’ve literally never seen a team so obsessed with a late round pick that lost this much, this average and yet we can’t talk at all about playing someone else who might be better.

  9. The Mount Rushmore of 26 year old rookie QBs: Shough, Weeden and Weinke.

If Shough doesn’t play this season or next, is he the next Christian Hackenburg?

  10. I mean… no. Fuck no. If we’re 1-9 going into the bye then we damn well better see what we spent the 40th pick on shortly thereafter.

  11. Who gives a fuck. We’re tanking. It is what it is. Let it tank. Let it tank

  12. Shough is not an nfl caliber qb. 7 years in college to become relevant. Watched him live at practice all off season… he could barely keep up with heaner. Maybe another off-season he’ll improve but he is nowhere near the level of rattler at the moment.
