NHL Highlights | Kraken vs. Maple Leafs – October 18, 2025

You know, the start’s really important. Toronto trying to get off to a good one. An opportunity for DOI’s line to try to set the tone. So, it’s Toronto Seattle with hometown fans hoping there’s no need to go to the bullpen tonight. Two a game. That’s not nearly enough. You you want to be pressuring your opponent to take more time. Here’s a shot by Larson. Turned away the right pad of Stallars. Pass Matthews and out to center. Done. Jordan Everly working his way back in. Solar stops that. A rebound and now Matthews down has lost the blade in his skate. A chance here in front. Right downhill came Stevenson and Joseph along the boards continues to battle for the puck. It’ll come back to Kale Flurry taking the Montour spot. kick to March and his shot right on rebound scores and it’s Shane Wright with goals in backto back and Seattle strikes first. Well, he couldn’t be happier with the rebound coming right on his tape as you mentioned. Game number 100 and hold for right, but this is one for Anthony Stolars. You know, trying to control the rebound, but look at the angle that it’s coming from. You know, there’s going to be one, but right onto the stick there, right, no hesitation. Watch how he reaches back. He’s he’s ready for this rebound to be there. Stallard pushes across and he just gets it up high enough over the outstretched pad and blocker. and an opportunity at just 21 still to have great growth. Here’s the youngster Cowan and he tests Joey Dord off the blocker. Hot shot by Cowan kept in by Matthews. Downhill is Austin. Matthews and to Cord. That pass was perfectly placed if it was Matthews. Instead, Knander couldn’t get the shot away. Back in they come. Tvaris Morgan Riley up top gets the shot on. And it’ll be Here’s Knander working it loose to Matthews. Drink wide it goes. Riley in the slot across. It’s Matthews. A drive right on. It’ll come back to the line for Eman Larson. Four points in the last two. Robertson checked and Stevenson with the clear. Yeah, good job by Anthony Stole. That’s a good job by Dakota Johnson. Joshua takes a bump from Flurry. It’ll be played back to the line. McKe hot shot goes high. Here’s Lorent. Steven Lorent who had a pair of points in his first game. injured in game two. Back to Tanv and McCabe. There’s Lorent getting a shot right off the plate for Craig Baruby in St. Louis during that Stanley Cup run. There’s Schwarz feeding it back. Done. Puts that on goal. Turned into the corner. Tried to center it again. That was quite a dash by Chris Tenev. He’s got it again. Teniff in front. different look trying to get some offense early on here. Something Trevy, as you mentioned, did a lot with Houston Cowan in the last game. And the last shift for the Matthews line, they didn’t get out of their own zone. They’re into the Seattle zone. Now Riley scores [Music] read a good breakout off of some pressure. Riley’s right in the midst of it, but when he gets it back, it’s a give and go. Almost turned back because he didn’t think N was going to get control. A little soft pass across by Matthew, but boy, that looks an awful lot like for Morgan Rodney that scored 20 goals and 72 points six years ago. Just no hesitation at all. You see the look. There’s a pass onto the left side for Robertson trying to steer it through and puts it on goal. man here early on the returns have been great and and he looks as good as he’s ever been. A goal tonight. His next point will tie Thomas Cabaret and trying to clear up into the air and maybe a twoon-one the other way. Stevenson to the net and a huge stop by Stard. A bit of a twoon-one broken play here. Doi thinks he can get the puck out of midair. Instead of using his hand, uses his stick. That opens up this lane and saucer pass across by Stevenson. Did it hit the ice just was getting there but Stallars with the pad down able to make McMahon losing his stick as he tried to line up. Bits done and it came up and hit Doy in the face and doy going to stay out there. Looked like he was making his way off. Markman in in front scores. Yanni Newman has given Seattle its second lead of the night. You said it, Chris. Taking advantage of Doi just a little bit stunned at the offensive blue line. It went off his stick. The puck did enough for Seattle. Here’s the play. Just trying to keep it in quick little right off looked like the mouth. So instead of he thought of going now the D is backed up. Once you back off the line and get a little give and go and what a passive March not necessarily known as the greatest playmaker. I I think for sure Stlars was thinking a shot from a bad angle. instead. Just a beauty of a pass and Yanni Newman State Sundevils. He’s the first player to play in the NHL there. Played with my son Riley there. We see another Sunundevil next week. Josh Don and the Buffalo Sabres will provide backto backs. Here’s a shot. Scores. What a rifle from John Tobaris. And the game tied again. [Music] Man, there’s times when the reaction says it all. It almost looked like it hit crossbar. Kind of a nothing play. Good stick there by Tvaris. Good chip by William Knander. And never a good sound for the goalender. When you’re on the rope, you hear the sound of the bar. You think, “Okay, maybe I got a break with that one off the bar.” Then up underneath as Toar is in tight. A rolling puck into the feet there of Larson. And no hesitation whatsoever. McMahon and Doy. Here’s Seattle coming back and a shot lances into the corner. Off the boards by Carlo. Kept in by Tolvin. A one-time cross. Scores with traffic in front and Stolar’s knocked down. Brandon Carlo trying to box out. See Riley on one side. There’s the engagement and there’s the cross check as the shot is coming. [Music] Oh boy. I think for Craig Ruby it’s going to be a hard one to try to challenge. And as I said, the official on the ice was immediately calling goal. That one somehow found a way through and got deflected right there on the penalty kill for Seattle with Cartier. Here’s Matthews reeling in a pass and it comes to Dander right on. No reliever coming in here though. Leafs send the heart of their order out to start the third period with the power play. Marchment with just over a minute remaining in his penalty. Leafs have won 60% of the faceoffs through two periods of play as Tvaris digs in clean way to put it right on. Rebound score. John Tvaris has his 500th point of the leap. Even gain the zone. How important is a faceoff? 4 seconds after the faceoff win. It’s Tavaris right on the doorstep wins the battle to get to the puck first wins the stick battle there. You can see the miss by Alexiaak retrieves the rebound gets it back to Carlos. Handcuffed him. Look out. Jaden Schwarz with a break and stopped by Sto. Blue line. Watch the little jump that he gets as Alder Eman Larson can’t or Harley Calgro can’t find it. Aaron’s passes created some tension in the Leaf zone and here’s Cowan with his first real shift here of the third period almost 10 minutes in. Knocked down by marksman but it’s C in front and to p out and make a change on the change. It’s Eastston Talling in Philadelphia Washington and will wrap up a six-game trip in Winnipeg. been done. Matthews lost his stick and a look there in front for Beneers. A nice job of the Seattle Kraken taking advantage of it right off the bat. So, what do you do with the guy with no stick? Take advantage of it. There’s no way Matthews can get his stick in the lane. Knander a little bit late, but this quick reaction. Oh boy. Right off the up to Nick Blah. Here’s Wah in the dying seconds. Working his way across Steven Lorent. A chance here stopped in front. What a chance. Oh man, for a buzzer beater here. And it will start with Stevenson, Everly, and Dunn up against Matthews, kneelander, and Riley. Legs a little fresher for Seattle. Vince Dun again with right on the move. breaking in and Stallars shuts the door. Composure there by Stallars. Key here though is trying to go five holes. Anticip we have played three minutes of overtime. Josh Mur out for Seattle. The veteran Everly give and go. Mhur’s in and scores. Josh Mura has the gamewinner for Seattle. Nice move. As you said, 134 games. How can that be? He looked like a goal scorer there underneath the arm. Up and over the pad. [Music]

Shane Wright had a goal and an assist, Joey Daccord made 26 stops and Josh Mahura buried the game-winning goal in overtime to lead the Seattle Kraken past the Toronto Maple Leafs 4-3.

  1. Worst announce team in sports. My condolences to fans who don't listen to professional feeds. Kudos to Mitch Marner scoring his first goal tonight to go with 6 asists this season. The Leafs were more interesting when the Toronto Toros were playing.

  2. Oleksiak right in front of the shooter on Toronto's first goal and doesn't block the shot. Big, dumb, slow and can't even block shots. He's useless. Third goal Toronto scores, Oleksiak standing there doing nothing. The 4th Toronto goal, he's blindly whacking at the effing puck with no clue what he's doing. WHY THE EFF is this dumb oaf still on this team?

  3. Seems like Matthews can only score in empty nets these days. How anyone can be excited about this Leafs team is beyond me. Saturday night in Toronto and can't muster any energy to defeat an average team. In 2 years Matthews will be gone, and Leafs' window for a Cup will be officially over, if it isn't already.

  4. I just Carlo just stand there after his goalie got run over. Usually I day wait 'til playoffs to see what they're like…. i just saw what they'll be like. I'm out. I'll be back when Knies and Cowan are running things. I love the team but I hate these wimps. Gonna sleep in peace tonight ✌️
